Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Wednesday criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosiâs (D-Calif.) proposed commission to investigate the Jan. 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol, calling its composition âpartisan by design.â The Congress has yet to finalize the structure of the commission, which Pelosi said will be modeled after the one established by President George W. Bush to examine the 9/11 terrorist attacks on New York City and the Pentagon. It is reported, however, that Democratic leaders had proposed a panel that would have seven members appointed by their partyâincluding three picked by President Joe Biden with subpoena powerâand...

On this date in 1937, Ethiopian prince Desta Damtew — the son-in-law of Emperor Haile Selassie — was captured by the Italian troops occupying his country, and summarily executed. An aristocrat who married Selassie’s eldest daughter, the Ras* Desta Damtew (English Wikipedia entry | Italian) became governor of the southern Sidamo Province upon his father-in-law’s ascent to the Ethiopian throne in 1930. When Italy invaded Ethiopia in 1935, it committed a disproportionate quantity of its forces to the northern reaches of its target. Consequently, resistance was stronger in the south — and Ras Desta was one of its chiefs. In...

The Faith Protection Act making Georgia a “sanctuary state for people of faith” is enacted into law, Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA) said on Wednesday’s edition of SiriusXM’s Breitbart News Daily with host Alex Marlow. Kemp contextualized the proposed legislation as a response to assorted lockdown and shutdown decrees ostensibly issued by various state and local authorities as public health measures to reduce COVID-19 transmission. “I want Georgia to be known as a sanctuary state for people of faith,” Kemp declared. “I think we’ve seen around the country there have been a lot of people in power, especially governors around the...

Denver Newsroom, Feb 22, 2021 / 07:01 pm MT (CNA).- Amid calls from California activists to drop vandalism charges against five assailants who destroyed a statue of St. Junipero Serra last year, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone of San Francisco warned that doing so would set a dangerous precedent. “If a crime caught on videotape and witnessed by the police were not to have been prosecuted, it would have sent a profoundly disturbing message to the hundreds of thousands of people of faith in Marin County: churches, synagogues, mosques and temples are at the mercy of small mobs,” Cordileone said in a...

Until now, in parts of Spain only 25 faithful could assist at Mass even at huge cathedrals.MADRID, Spain, February 23, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Following a recourse by an association of Christian lawyers, the Supreme Tribunal of Spain suspended COVID restrictions on public Masses in the autonomous region of Castilla y León north of Madrid. The region includes the historic university town of Salamanca, as well as Segovia, Burgos, Valladolid and Avila — where saint Teresa founded her first reformed Carmel. It is a region of massive churches and monumental cathedrals, where according to local government rules, only 25 faithful could...

Looks like we've got quite a match-up today. Democratic Rep. Gerry Connolly is practically screaming at Rep. Jim Jordan and lecturing him about bipartisanship and conjuring old thought of former President Donald Trump. Connolly was throwing down the verbal hammer at the GOP, specifically Rep. Jordan and it just seemed to go literally nowhere. It was like Connolly got mad and just wanted to yell at someone. Rep. Connolly got loud, saying he would “not be lectured by people,” who voted in hopes of overturning the 2020 presidential election that Trump lost to Biden.

Vatican Papal Academy Sells Out the Virgin Mary for MuhammadThe same folks to bring you "Abrahamism"—the idea that Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are intricately connected—have narrowed their sights on promoting Mary, the mother of Christ, as "a Jewish, Christian and Muslim woman," in the words of Catholic priest Fr. Gian Matteo of the Pontifical International Marian Academy. In a ten-week webinar series titled "Mary, a model for faith and life for Christianity and Islam," the academy will seek to present Mary as a bridge between the two religions. This is easier said than done — at least for those still interested...

Among a group of hundreds of thousands of Americans who tested positive for a SARS-CoV-2 infection, the risk of developing a subsequent infection more than three months later was about 90% lower than for people who had not been previously infected and therefore had no immunity to the virus, according to researchers from the National Cancer Institute. For the sake of comparison, when the vaccines made by Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna were tested in Phase 3 clinical trials, they reduced the risk of developing COVID-19 by at least 94%. ... “I think we knew this, that immunity [after natural infection] lasts...

The Dow hit 31,961 today, up 424 points. During the Trump era, I attributed this trend in part to his policies and recovery from the COVID economic impact. But, Biden's election and his undoing of Trump's policies don't appear to have a cooling effect. As Larry Kudlow said recently, the economy is "red hot". But, why is that, and what's driving the market even higher? The Current S&P 500 PE Ratio is 39.97, hardily a bargain. One possibility is that it is a reflection of the real impact of the stimulus bills of trillions of dollars, whereby a tax payer...

A middle school (6-8 grade) in Washington State has a gay and lesbian club as one of their after-school clubs. Some of these students are 11 years old, barely beginning to enter puberty!! This club is listed on their official school website. It is a school sponsored activity with a teacher advisor! We, the tax payers are paying for this! They are using school equipment to chat on-line. Would they allow a Bible study club, or an Eagle Scout club, or maybe a young republican club? This is outrageous!!!
