A Cleveland man on death row for killing 11 women died of natural causes in a prison hospital on Monday, a report said. Anthony Sowell, 61, who earned the nickname “Cleveland strangler” for the murders, was convicted and sentenced in 2011 for the killings. He had a terminal illness and died at Franklin Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio, an official told WJW. Anthony Brindisi (D-NY) has conceded to former Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY) in the race for New York’s 22nd Congressional District. Vivek Murthy, President Biden’s pick for surgeon general, cashed in last year as the Chinese coronavirus pandemic gripped the nation, making more than two million dollars off pandemic “consulting.” Several of Biden’s nominees have filed financial disclosures, including Murthy, who according to Politico made millions by consulting various companies, including those in industries severely impacted by the pandemic, such as Carnival Cruise Line. An Ingham County judge dismissed charges on Monday against several hair stylists who cut hair as a protest on the steps of the Michigan Capitol in May. Several haircutters and barbers participated in “Operation Haircut,” which was organized by the Michigan Conservative Coalition. At least six stylists were ticketed for “disorderly conduct” by the Michigan State Police, which carried a $1,000 fine. The executive order issued by Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) used as the basis for the infractions was later ruled unconstitutional.
