Rand Paul slams impeachment trial as 'partisan farce' as Trump's lawyers prepare to present video of Democrats inciting violence during BLM riots

Rand Paul said Sunday the Senate impeachment trial is 'over before it starts' claiming there is 'zero chance' Donald Trump will be convicted – as the former president's attorneys prepare to present an impeachment defense showing a double standard in acceptable speech for Democrats and Republicans.

'Is there any chance that the Senate will vote to convict Donald Trump?' Fox News' Chris Wallace asked the Kentucky senator on Sunday.

'Zero chance of conviction,' Paul said. '45 Republicans have said it's not even a legitimate proceeding so it's really over before it starts.'

At least 17 Republicans would have to cross the Party line for a successful conviction – and not nearly that many GOP senators have indicated they plan to do so.

Paul said the whole proceedings are a 'partisan farce' meant to further demonize Republicans.

Trump's impeachment trial kicks off in the Senate this week and his lawyers have said they will weaponize video of Democrats' 'inciting violence' as a counter to the left's argument that the former president is to blame for the Capitol storming for his speech beforehand.

Trump's impeachment attorneys revealed Friday they plan to use clips during the trial this upcoming week to strengthen their defense by exhibiting times Democrats incited violence with 'inflammatory rhetoric' as proof of a double standard.

Bruce Castor, the former president's lead impeachment lawyer, told Fox News he would counter video used by the Democrat impeachment managers of Trump's January 6 speech and the Capitol storming by playing clips of lawmakers on the left calling for rioting in the midst of the Black Lives Matter protests.

I’m sure once Trumps lawyers are ready to present, the stations will cut to a long commercial.

No Rand, too little too late. You endorsed the fraud on January 6 saying you could not overturn an election when no one asked you to turn over an election. You were asked to set aside certain Electors temporarily whose state legislatures requested to give them a little more time to investigate cries of fraud in their states.

Now you’re trying to score pansy points by sticking up for a President after you joined others in stabbing his back. Yeah, you answer to your Master Mitch who is hated. And then when your Master allows, you are able to say things that appease the People.

Rand Paul - a conservative soundbite without a shred of courage.

Rand Paul will never be President period.

Or:

"Oops! We have encountered a little technical problem preventing us from televising the impeachment proceedings at this time. Please enjoy this Abbott and Costello movie while our staff works on a remedy."

The problem for the Media-Dem Party is that Trump didn’t use inciteful language in his January 6th speech, and the incident at the Capitol was already underway long before his speech ended. The only way they can make his remarks sound inciteful is thru manipulation of his words and the timeline of events. No such manipulation is needed din the case of inciteful words spewed by the Media-Dem Party and the riots throughout 2020.

Remember Democrat hit man Patrick Leahy is in charge. He will rule any of the “defense” motions inadmissible. He’ll be banging his gavel to cut off any arguments from Trump’s lawyers. Every method will be used to shut them up and deny their evidence. I doubt they’ll be able to show any recordings of Democrat incitements to riot.

This is a show trial, after all. There’s nothing legitimate about it so the Democrat’s presiding “judge” will simply rule Trump’s people out of order. Any mention of the fraudulent election will be shut down, any mention of pre-planning of the “insurrection” will be shut down, etc.

This is as rigged as the election was. The Democrat fascists think they’re in full control now and they are relishing their power. Republicans will be made to look like totally ineffective jackasses—which most of them are.
