Is Gov. Charlie Baker a one-man “superspreader?” If you’ve had the misfortune of listening to some of his more recent press conferences, you’ve learned — over and over again — that a disproportionately large number of people the governor knows have been struck down with the virus. In his droning recitations, his “friends” call him from the ICU, or at least their sick bed, to tell him how right he was about the panic. And how wrong his friends had been, to discount the peril they faced. Perhaps the wise governor’s friends were lulled into complacency by the state’s actual...

When did it become okay for subpoenas just to be ignored? I thought when you were served with a subpoena, you were supposed to show up to testify or provide documentation. But, apparently, subpoenas concerning the 2020 election don’t count. Officials have suddenly become extremely protective of their voting machines and election records. Just one example: Friday, in Maricopa County (Phoenix area), the Board of Supervisors rejected a subpoena from the Arizona State Senate Judiciary Committee to look at voting machines, which happen to be Dominion machines. Maricopa County is filing its own lawsuit. The chairman called the senate subpoena...

I would love to think it’s my “engaging personality” that makes me popular at parties but, if I’m being honest, I know it’s really my baked brie — a warm and creamy round of brie topped with honey, dried cherries and nuts, all encased in golden puff pastry. People love this stuff and always ask for the recipe. The truth is that you barely need a recipe; store-bought frozen puff pastry makes it super simple.

In a bid the make "stay at home" orders "less tedious and alienating" Secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Health Rachel Levine is now recommending "porn and masturbation" as a way to cope. "One of the unforeseen benefits of the pandemic has been the realization that traditional attitudes about sex need to be changed," she said. "With many states imposing severe limits on movement and social contact, the old ways of sexually interacting are being seen as unduly risky. Skin-to-skin contact with another person conjures up nightmares of deadly viruses invading our bodies. This grim awareness of the deadly potential...

WASHINGTON — Top Capitol Hill negotiators sealed a deal on a $900 billion COVID-19 economic relief package, finally delivering long-overdue help to businesses and individuals and providing money to deliver vaccines to a nation eager for them. “More help is on the way,” said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., in announcing the agreement for a relief bill that would total almost $900 billion. “Moments ago, in consultation with our committees, the four leaders of the Senate and House finalized an agreement for another major rescue package for the American people.”

Ivan Raiklin says Vice President Pence can request states send Electoral College slates that actually reflect the will of the people. Citing the United States Constitution and U.S. Code, Constitutional Lawyer Ivan Raiklin says it is Vice President Mike Pence’s duty to instruct states to expeditiously send their Electoral College Certificates immediately if they have not been received. U.S.C. 12 explains that “When no certificate of vote and list mentioned in sections 9 and 11 of this title from any State shall have been received by the President of the Senate or by the Archivist of the United States by...

Nobody has ever loved Christmas as much as my Jewish dad did.I have known few people in my life who loved Christmas as much as my Jewish father did. I would never suggest that he married my Catholic mother just to get Christmas — she was very beautiful and they loved each other very much — but look, it was certainly a bonus. Once this Bar Mitzvah boy got his hooks into the yule log, he went wild. Nowhere was this more pronounced than in our small family’s Christmas tree. His thing was to buy the tree the morning of...

Newly-installed Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón has apologized to the family of murder victim Joshua Rodriguez for telling them to “keep their mouth shut” as they protested his appearance in Pomona, California on Friday. Video of the interaction shows Gascon saying: “It’s unfortunate that we have people who do not have enough education so they can keep their mouth shut for a moment so we can talk.” A woman’s voice, later identified as Rodriguez’s mother, is heard responding: “My son can never speak again because he was murdered — kidnapped, tortured, and murdered. My son matters.” Gascón was...

Flights from countries all over the world, including COVID-19 hotspots like Brazil, continue to land at London airports despite Londoners themselves being banned by law from traveling outside the area. Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced on Saturday that London and the south east of England would be placed under a new lockdown – tier 4 – making it illegal for Londoners to travel outside the region. Johnson also revealed that people living in tier 4 areas would be banned from international travel, forcing millions of Brits who planned to visit family abroad to cancel their Christmas. However, while Londoners are...

Actually, any time of year is good to be a Biden. There is ZERO chance Hunter Biden is held account for his money laundering and tax evasion. ZERO I've written that there is a two tiered system of (in)justice in this country- here and here among them- and it has never been more apparent than over the last few years. Hunter Biden can smoke crack, make vulgar pornographic videos and expose himself to minors without any recourse. The MFM smothers the stories. The law closes its eyes. The IRS chuckles at his tax evasion and allows him to pay off...

Former Gov. Chris Christie isn’t ready to put his presidential hopes to rest. He declined to rule out another run for the highest office in the country on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show Monday. “I would not rule it out,” Christie said when asked if he would rule out running for the presidency in 2024 if outgoing President Donald Trump chose to seek another term in 2024. Christie’s 2016 presidential bid helped erode his already faltering approval ratings in New Jersey towards the end of his second term as the head of the Garden State. He considered a bid in 2012...

President Donald Trump alleged Sunday that “we’re getting close and closer,” in reference to his ongoing challenges to election results in key battleground states. “We’re getting closer and closer. And I hope you let everybody know we’re actually very close,” Trump said on WABC radio. “The fake news will not tell you that. They don’t want to talk about it. They’re trying to suppress it. We don’t have freedom of the press at all. It’s suppressed news. It’s a terrible thing that’s happened in our country. It’s been going on for, it started a long time ago, but it’s gotten...

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) has been playing games with people's livelihoods this year. How else can she explain why she rejected earlier, bigger COVID relief deals offered from the White House, such as the $1.8 trillion deal presented by Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin this fall? CNN's Manu Raju told Twitter that he tried to ask the speaker about her confounding rationale, but she completely ignored him.

Here, life has felt incredibly normal. It's also revealed how abnormal the lifestyle I followed in Virginia really was.OCALA, Fla. — Last Sunday I plopped a steaming hashbrown casserole and a bowl of freshly sliced oranges down on one of a row of endless folding tables covered in those flimsy plastic tablecloths you get at the dollar store. The casseroles were outnumbered only by the pans of homemade cinnamon rolls, and the fruit section was meager: it was a good Southern Baptist potluck. Church ladies buzzed around, removing tin foil from tin pans and putting serving spoons in each dish,...

Bill Barr says he will not name a special counsel to investigate Trump’s (unfounded) claims of election fraud: “If I thought a special counsel at this stage was the right tool, I would name one, but I haven’t and I’m not going to.” https://twitter.com/atrupar/status/1341052958511919106/video/1
