Higher ed leaders love committees and training sessions. The technocratic mind that rules campus sees a problem and usually decides that the solution is more resources and education. Once the money is spent and the trainings, workshops, and seminars are completed, then the problem is solved. Since the police killing of George Floyd, colleges have issued apologetic statements about institutional racism and made grand resolutions to become “anti-racist.” It seems that spending on diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives will continue to rise as they have in recent years. A Martin Center analysis has found that, at some of the largest...

The president of Brazil said he plans to wait “a bit longer” to recognize a winner of the U.S. presidential election. On Sunday, Jair Bolsonaro told reporters he thinks it’s wise to allow President Trump’s legal arguments to go through in court before congratulating a winner. He also said there is evidence of widespread voting fraud, though he added he’s not sure whether it was enough to sway the election. Only TWO POLITICIANS in the whole world are fighting against the globalist dictatorship agenda: @jairbolsonaro and @realDonaldTrump. All other leaders are giving up and falling into Soros's pocket. This is...

Despite all the noise, President Donald John Trump has been a nice guy. Too nice. He has been so nice that a 78-year-old demented derelict almost stole the election with 10 million illegal votes. No more Mister Nice Guy. His second term should see President Trump use the power we have entrusted in him to lay down the law. This means making certain changes in approach. As entertaining as they are, he must stop the tweets, act like a businessman, and be the nicest president anyone ever saw -- on the surface. That will allow him to cover the...

It’s just the flu, bro. https://www.frontpagemag.com/point/2020/11/not-only-arent-republicans-reversing-2020-disaster-daniel-greenfield/ No change to coronavirus-inspired absentee ballot rules in Georgia. This is because the GOP in Georgia has no testicles. - Good to see that nobody, even Kozak, came out yesterday in favor of lockdowns, masks, and social distancing mandates. - https://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3910669/posts One of the impacts of the lockdown, and fear in general, is a big drop in the US birth rate (see above). When people are panicked, rational or not, they use contraception and have fewer children. Natural law is God’s law. You mess with natural processes, such as people interacting, you get significant...

A YouTuber chasing his “dreams” fractured his skull after leaping into a river from atop a massive Texas bridge last week. Saa Fomba recorded last Monday’s stunt at Austin’s Pennybacker Bridge, posting it to his YouTube channel on Friday after several days in the hospital. The footage shows the daredevil as he hatches the dangerous stunt. “Hopefully this video will motivate you to chase after your dreams,” Fomba said to the camera as he prepared to jump into the Colorado river. “I don’t see no fun in living a normal life.” A woman later records Fomba scaling up an arch...

The mother of a Florida teenager who was shot and killed by a sheriff’s deputy this month was wounded at his burial service Saturday. Quasheda Pierce, 39, was hit when a shot rang out at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Cocoa, where 18-year-old Sincere Pierce was being laid to rest just over two weeks after he and another teen were shot dead by a Brevard County Sheriff’s deputy. Police said the wounded woman and a 16-year-old boy were both struck when a gun the teen was carrying at the burial “experienced an accidental discharge” and struck both of them, WOFL-TV reported...

Does the left fear a 2024 run by President Trump? Looks that way, judging from this morning's AM Joy show on MSNBC, guest-hosted by Maria Teresa Kumar. The show devoted a segment to the possibility of Trump 2024. And in a pre-emptive strike on a possible run, the panel pleaded that the media shouldn't cover Trump, and that supporters shouldn't contribute to him.The segment began with a clip of Kamala Harris cackling past the graveyard, replying "oh, please" to a reporter's question as to whether she believes Biden-Harris could defeat Trump were he to run again. That segued into the...

President-elect Joe Biden will have an all-female senior communications team at his White House, led by campaign communications director Kate Bedingfield. Bedingfield will serve as Biden’s White House communications director, and Jen Psaki, a longtime Democratic spokeswoman, will be his press secretary. All three are veterans of the Obama administration. Bedingfield served as...

The year 2020 will be remembered for a lot of things - not least the rise of the Black Lives Matter movement around the world. The organisation has led huge street rallies and high-profile campaigns against racism and police brutality. Now the three women who founded the movement told the BBC they believe it has transformed politics. "Black people alongside our allies stood up to change the course of history and we won," said Alicia Garza. Garza and her BLM co-founders, Patrisse Cullors and Opal Tometi, spoke as part of the BBC 100 Women Masterclass 2020, a digital live event...

Consultants cash in on radical changes to curricula nationwide In July, the leadership of Los Angeles's elite Harvard-Westlake School issued a 20-page confessional about the school’s role in perpetuating "racism and injustice" and promised changes. The school, which sends dozens of kids to the Ivy League every year, will now teach 11th-grade U.S. history from a "critical race theory perspective." And diversity consultancies, which routinely charge six figures for their services, will facilitate the school's transformation at every step. On the East Coast, the wealthy Fairfax County public school district shelled out $20,000 for an hourlong speech from critical-race commentator...

THE WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION’S TOP EMERGENCY EXPERT PUSHED BACK AGAINST CHINESE COMMUNIST PARTY CLAIMS THAT COVID-19 ORIGINATED IN EUROPE, CALLING THE THEORY “HIGHLY SPECULATIVE.” The official, Mike Ryan, noted “it’s highly speculative for us to say that the disease did not emerge in China,” during a virtual briefing in Geneva. The remarks came in response to a question about whether or not COVID-19 could have emerged somewhere besides China. “It is clear from a public health perspective that you start your investigations where the human cases first emerged,” he added. The World Health Organization official’s words represent a rejection of...

Several newly-elected Republican House members, including New York’s Nicole Malliotakis, have banned together to create a group they’ve dubbed the “Freedom Force” — to oppose “The Squad” of progressive Democratic congresswomen. “This group will give a contrast to the hard left,” Utah Rep.-elect and former NFL player Burgess Owens said Friday on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.” “We have ‘Freedom Force’ versus ‘Squad.'”

The Sunday Gospel announces a critical Advent theme: While I want to comment primarily on the Reading from Isaiah, the Gospel admonition surely deserves some attention as well. Too many today hold the unbiblical idea that most if not all people are going to Heaven. For weeks now we have been reading parables in the Gospels in which the Lord Jesus warns that many (possibly even most) are not headed for Heaven. There are the wise and the foolish virgins, the industrious and the lazy servants, and the sheep and the goats. Today’s Gospel features those who keep watch and...
