Each notebook has either a source URL for the dataset or a link to the spreadsheet that was downloaded and parsed. Benford's Law, also called the Newcomb–Benford law, the law of anomalous numbers, or the first-digit law, is an observation about the frequency distribution of leading digits in many real-life sets of numerical data. The law states that in many naturally occurring collections of numbers, the leading digit is likely to be small. For example, in sets...

A warning on Georgia In this column, Steve Cortes identified four statistical anomalies associated with last week’s presidential vote. Any one of them, he argued, “would cast intense doubt upon election results.†Put all four together, and “the result is a seemingly impossible statistical perfect storm.â€Considering the importance of the Georgia runoff elections, I was struck by this passage in Cortes’ article: In the Peach State, President TrumpÂ’s vote total almost exactly tracked the vote totals for the Republican senate candidates, separated by merely 818 votes out of 2.43 million votes Trump earned there. But, Joe Biden saw an astounding...

President Trump’s administration has instructed senior agency officials to not cooperate with President-elect Joe Biden’s transition team amid the Trump campaign’s legal challenge to election outcomes in multiple battleground states, The Washington Post reported Monday. According to senior administration officials who spoke to the Post on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak publicly, agencies have instructed staff who had been preparing briefing books and office space for the Biden team to not give this access until the election result is confirmed by the General Services Administration (GSA), which oversees the management and basic functioning of...

There have been a lot of allegations of voter fraud and irregularities across the states currently being contested in the election. But one of them, in Clark County, Nevada seems pretty hard to argue away, and it may be the sign of a much wider fraud. Rosemarie Hartle voted in the 2020 election. But there was a small problem with that. Rosemarie Hartle died in 2017 of breast cancer, as her husband Kirk explained. The records show that the ballot was sent October 9 and returned the day before Election Day. Kirk Hartle explained that it never came to their...

Elon Musk's company has launched two people into space to date: NASA astronauts Douglas Hurley and Robert Behnken, who rode to the International Space Station May 30 aboard a Crew Dragon capsule mounted on a Falcon 9 rocket. That test flight, termed DEMO-2, marked the first-ever commercial crewed launch, and the first launch from American soil since the end of the Space Shuttle program in 2011. But it was a test flight, with just two astronauts aboard, lasting just 64 days with most of that time in zero-gravity spent on the International Space Station (ISS). On Nov. 14, if all...

Dr. Anthony Fauci said Tuesday that he will take Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine if it’s approved by the Food and Drug Administration. The infectious disease expert made the declaration when asked by MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell if he would take the vaccine that Pfizer said Monday was proven to be 90 percent effective. “I’m going to look at the data, but I trust Pfizer. I trust the FDA. These are colleagues of mine for decades, the career scientists,” Fauci said. “If they look at this data, and they say this data is solid, let’s go ahead and approve it, I promise you,...

The Allegheny County Board of Elections has voted to allow ballots to be counted that were not properly dated when they were mailed in. These ballots were the only item on the board’s agenda on Tuesday. According to the board, there are 2,349 ballots without dates — which they have now decided to count.“What we have here is essentially a technicality that we don’t want voters to get disenfranchised with,” said Allegheny County solicitor Andy Szefi, according to a report from the CBS Pittsburgh. The report added that “those dateless ballots will undergo further analysis to make sure they are...

The Gateway Pundit has reported on numerous events in the 2020 election which are being referred to as system ‘glitches’ in the media. Last night we provided another ‘glitch’, this time in Wisconsin, which if reversed would eliminate Biden’s reported vote lead in the state. Tonight we have obtained an unaudited analysis of data available for all the states looking for system glitches and other oddities in vote counts related to the Presidential race only. Last night we reported on another so called system ‘glitch’, this time in a county in Wisconsin. Evidence was provided to us that showed that...

More than 100,000 absentee ballots in Pennsylvania have unlikely or impossible return dates, based on a researcher’s analysis of the state’s voter database. Over 51,000 ballots are marked as returned just a day after they were sent out—an extraordinary speed given USPS delivery times. Nearly 35,000 were returned on the same day they were mailed out. Another more than 23,000 have an impossible return date—earlier than the sent date. More than 9,000 have no sent date. Pennsylvania’s voter records are being scrutinized as President Donald Trump challenged the results of the presidential election in this and other states where his...

The former CEO of Google, Eric Schmidt, is finalizing a plan to become a citizen of the island of Cyprus, Recode has learned, becoming one of the highest-profile Americans to take advantage of one of the world’s most controversial “passport-for-sale” programs. Schmidt, one of America’s wealthiest people, and his family have won approval to become citizens of the Mediterranean nation, according to a previously unreported notice in a Cypriot publication in October. While it is not clear why exactly Schmidt has pursued this foreign citizenship, the new passport gives him the ability to travel to the European Union, along with...

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — One week after Election Day and election-related lawsuits are piling up in Pennsylvania. But so are the ballots. On Tuesday inside the election warehouse on the North Side, staffers began processing ballots at 9:00 a.m. and continued working through the night. The process happened in front of 18 observers who represented both Republicans and Democrats, according to county leaders. Outstanding ballots included military and overseas ballots, which could be received until 5 p.m. Tuesday. Of the 29,000 ballots originally mailed to the wrong voters,...

Former Trump national security adviser John Bolton piled on Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for his comments Tuesday about a transfer of power. Wolf Blitzer brought up Pompeo’s remark about a transition “to a second Trump administration,” and said, “That sounds like something we might hear in Russia, not the United States of America.” “How dangerous is this?” he asked. Bolton called it “delusional for Mike to say that,” and added, “He has eviscerated his credibility internationally because I think there are very few people, even in the U.S. government who believe that’s the case. I don’t know why he...
