Regeneron Halts Enrollment of Critically Ill Patients in COVID-19 Antibody TrialRegeneron Pharmaceuticals has decided to halt enrollment of very sick patients with COVID-19 in its trial studying antibody cocktail REGN-COV2... The decision to halt critically ill patients was made in response to Regeneron’s independent safety board finding a potential safety signal and an unfavorable risk-benefit profile of the monoclonal antibody therapy in a subgroup of patients requiring high-flow oxygen or mechanical ventilation. These patients are generally sicker and hospitalized because they are in the advanced stages of the disease. The Tarrytown, N.Y.-based pharmaceutical company says it is blinded to the...

Will all this be enough for mass media to win the day? People will find out next week. Even if Donald Trump had lost the 2016 election, instead of won it in a surprise, the media’s coverage of his campaign and supporters would have been a horrific failure. They presented that race as unwinnable for Trump and as if his support was inexplicable.Their response to their 2016 failures has been not to improve their journalism in any way, shape, or form, but to decide that they didn’t do enough to bias that election in their preferred direction. Their nearly four-year...

STAMFORD, Connecticut -- A prosecutor said Friday that Kennedy cousin Michael Skakel will not face a second trial in the killing of Martha Moxley, an announcement that came 45 years to the day after the teenager was bludgeoned to death in her wealthy Connecticut neighborhood. Chief State's Attorney Richard Colangelo Jr. said at a hearing at Stamford Superior Court that the case could not be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Skakel, a nephew of Robert F. Kennedy's widow, Ethel Kennedy, was convicted of murder in 2002 and sentenced to 20 years to life in prison. Several appeals followed. After serving...

Critical infrastructure provides the foundation for our national security and prosperity. During Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month, we renew our commitment to protecting and securing our Nation’s essential systems for food and water, healthcare and public health, electric power supplies, emergency services, telecommunications, transportation, government and banking services, the administration of elections, and beyond. These vital functions and services are powered by a broad ecosystem of critical infrastructure assets, systems, networks, and workers, and underpin our American way of life. While advances in technology have enhanced the safety, security, and comprehensive integration of our Nation’s critical infrastructure, vulnerabilities still...

Donald Trump won the presidency by challenging both the Republican and Democrat Party establishments. For too long, the political class of party leaders, paid consultants, lobbyists, donor-funded think tanks, and partisan media outlets ignored the concerns of millions of working- and middle-class American families. These families didn’t see themselves as Democrats or Republicans. They saw themselves as Americans—and they wanted change.Career politicians didn’t get the message. Rather than listen to the American people, the establishment chose to lecture them instead. Democrats in Congress, for example, could’ve joined with President Trump and Republicans to work together on infrastructure, immigration, healthcare, the economy,...

Dear FREEPER friends… I am writing this note in fervent hope that you'll begin to pray immediately for President Trump. I have watched almost every one of his rallies… And one after another he brings energy and excitement and a true love for the patriots that are attending. However, right now in Wisconsin… he is absolutely beginning to slow down… Beginning to lean on the podium… And with the fatigue that he is sure to encounter, is beginning to slur a word here and there. My friends… President Trump is not Superman… He is scheduled for 13 more rallies between...

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the U.S. government's top coronavirus expert, said Wednesday he believes the Trump administration needs to instate a nationwide mask mandate. "If we don't get one, then I would hope that the governors and the mayors do it locally, if it's not done nationally," Fauci told CNBC

Some great news for a Friday afternoon. The Democrats' enormous lead on vote by mail (VBM) has been whittled down to nearly nothing by Republicans crushing the in person early vote (IPEV) As of this morning, the D overall lead in all early votes (IPEV plus VBM) was 164,000, down from 204,000 the day before and 254,000 the day before that. As of now it is 120,602. Trump won Florida in 2016 despite D's having a 96,000 lead in all early votes by the morning of the election. There are still a few more hours today and a couple more...

On November 3rd, California voters will decide whether Proposition 22, a ballot initiative that would exempt ride sharing apps and food delivery companies from the draconian labor regulations of AB.5, should become state law. Proposition 22 would allow ride share apps like Uber, as well as food delivery companies like DoorDash and Grubhub, to continue to classify its workers as independent contractors, but mandate a minimum level of compensation and the provision of certain benefits for individuals who work a set number of hours. Proposition 22 would also mandate advanced training and protections for drivers. Most importantly, the proposition on...

Bloomberg News has a new “scoop” up quoting anonymous Biden advisers who are deeply worried about the campaign GOTV effort aimed at Black and Hispanic voters:

Very strong day in early voting. Democrats had about a 96k vote margin lead in 2016 so we should be surpass 2016 performance by tomorrow and start with the advantage. The final early vote Democrat lead will likely be between 0 to 50k votes. Gains are expected to slow down on Sunday because many republican counties are closed for early voting but this has been a strange year so who knows. Republicans are winning in person early voting in core democrat counties because democrats are scared of going to the polls. They aren't willing to die for a Biden vote.

San Francisco pausing its reopening plans due to increasing coronavirus case and hospitalization reports, early signs that the surge that has swept over most of the United States is starting to seep into the Bay Area. Almost all activities that were scheduled to reopen or expand capacity on Tuesday are now delayed, city and public health officials said Friday. That includes indoor swimming pools, bowling alleys and gym locker rooms. Restaurants and places of worship must remain at 25% capacity instead of bumping up to 50% as planned. “Throughout our response to COVID-19, San Francisco demonstrated our willingness to make...

It’s hard to believe that just five years ago, Americans watched in horror as ISIS gained power and territory throughout the Middle East and terrorists killed 14 Americans on U.S. soil in San Bernardino, California.Today, the ISIS caliphate is destroyed. Terrorist leaders Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi and Qasem Soleimani are dead. And instead of sending American troops to fight in endless wars or giving cash to terrorist sponsors in Iran, the United States is securing peace deals with our real allies across the Middle East, including Israel.“The facts speak for themselves,†foreign policy expert Harry Kazianis writes. “Trump has successfully aligned U.S....
