The years 1917, 1924 and 1932 were ominous in Russian, Italian and German history respectively. In each case, the elections of those years would be the last free elections for quite some time. The electoral process went haywire, and totalitarians of one stripe or another seized control. There is a widespread fear that 2020 will be a similar year for the United States, and that we’re about to hold the last free election for the foreseeable future. At first, this seems absurd. Trump is no Hitler, and Biden is no Lenin. In terms of method and ideology, neither candidate approaches...

Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore is sounding the alarm five days before Election Day, strongly suggesting that polls showing Joe Biden in a comfortable lead against President Trump are not accurate. During his appearance on The Hill TV's "Rising," Moore began by calling it "awful news" that Biden was ahead of Trump by seven points in his home state of Michigan and explained how Trump managed to cut Biden's lead "in half," citing another poll that had the Democratic nominee "16 points" ahead of the president. "Trump has tightened virtually every one of these swing states to the point where- what...

With Nov. 3 racing toward us, it can be tempting to see the 2020 election as a done deal. For months, Joe Biden has consistently and convincingly led Donald Trump in polls. Swing states in the industrial Midwest and Sun Belt appear to be heading Biden’s way, and if you trust the polls, it’s not a leap to imagine him winning 330+ electoral votes. But what if you shouldn’t trust the polls? In 2016, months of national polls confidently showed Hillary Clinton ahead, and set many Americans up for a shock on Election Night, when the Electoral College tilted decisively...

Abby Johnson – Politics is a dirty business. Mudslinging is common. It’s hard to figure out what’s true and what’s not. But one issue, another dirty business, is something that Christians in particular should know the truth about: abortion. And you know who should be pulling together to stump for a candidate who stands against the killing of our most vulnerable human beings? Our faith leaders. But instead, all we see are some of our most well-known faith leaders causing confusion and dissention. In a recent article by John Piper, he stated that “boastfulness” is a bigger problem than abortion:...

Went to early voting. Since I was voting in an entirely different city, there were changes, more than normal. The Line: Everyone in a good mood. A few political hats which they were told to remove once they got in the room where actual voting took place. The Check-in: Clerk sat behind a plastic shield with a small opening. The voter reached through the opening and put their driver's license on a little stand and barcodes on the back were scanned. The voter then stated their name and address which the clerk verified. You were then given a ball point...
