Polls show Mr. Biden leading by five to 13 points, but I grew up around here and am dubious. This place — the land of hoagies and Bradley Cooper and Rocky Balboa worship and Tina Fey’s “Cousin Karen” accent — has transmogrified into Trumplandia. “He has so much more support than in 2016, because it’s been four years of accomplishments,” said Darinna Thompson, 49, a homemaker who was talking with a group of women outside the Trump Store. Pollsters say that suburban women are President Trump’s kryptonite, that they’ve turned on him. “I feel like that’s wrong — we’re the...

If “Saturday Night Live” can perform to a live audience, why can’t theaters? That’s one of the arguments in a lawsuit filed by a coalition of eight Off-Broadway theaters and comedy clubs against New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. The city’s live venues have been officially closed since March, and have not been allowed to reopen. The lead plaintiffs in the lawsuit, filed in the Federal District Court in Manhattan, are Catherine Russell, the general manager of the Theater Center in Times Square, and Michael Sgouros of Greenwich Village’s the Players Theatre. Other...

Joe Biden called President Donald Trump “George” on Sunday, as if he were running against George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, or maybe George Washington, before catching himself. (Or being helped by someone outside the camera’s view.) He appeared to be a tired old man in need of help with his everyday life. Yet at both debates, though he made mistakes, he looked to be far more sentient, at times even sharp, in stark contrast to the doddering senior citizen we usually see. How can this happen? “What kind of country we’re gonna be,” Biden asked in a weekend interview...

As the Democrat lead in the Vote By Mail (VBM) mounted two weeks ago, many Republicans panicked. Not only do Democrats usually lead in “early” voting (which includes both VBM and “In-Person Early Voting,” or IPEV), but this year in particular—with the China Virus—their emphasis on VBM has resulted in stunning voting levels. So far. Then, suddenly, the Democrats peaked. On or around October 16, their VBM numbers, especially in Florida, began to slow. Although they had one last burst for the “Souls to the Polls” of October 24-25, it was their last gasp. When IPEV started in Florida, Republicans came...

On Oct. 26, the Washington Free Beacon published a hard-hitting investigative article exposing a truly appalling and destructive example of communist China's long-term war on free societies, in this case using influence and information as weapons. The Free Beacon detailed The Economist magazine's years of "sympathetic" coverage of China's Huawei Technologies company. Then the report connected information to a kind of influence by documenting the magazine's profitable business relationship with the notorious corporate giant. The Free Beacon noted The Economist did not acknowledge that economic relationship for nearly a decade. Huawei's deep financial and operational connections to the Chinese Communist...

This past week DeAndre Hopkins got into a bit of a dust-up with supporters of President Donald Trump. While heading to his team’s showdown against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night, Hopkins came across a caravan of Trump fans. The fans in question later accused him of flipping them off and driving recklessly, while he denied the latter charge. On Wednesday, footage emerged seemingly contradicting Hopkins’ claim.

Remember what Obama himself said after learning he’d been asked to do some last-minute Michigan campaigning for Hillary Clinton in 2016?

Apparently awakening to the absurdity of his initial plan to forego campaigning in the days remaining before the election, Joe Biden summoned up the energy to make his way to Warm Springs, Georgia today, the home of President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s Little White House. In keeping with his gloomy portrait of a country ravaged by pandemic and hopelessly afflicted with institutional racism, in the course of his speech Biden inspiringly noted: “It was here on April 12, 1945 that President Roosevelt died.” That made it a perfect setting for a speech by an elderly, low-energy candidate that many assume will...

He should do this at every rally. Using Biden's own words to destroy him is perfect.

Icon of the Last Judgement (probably my favorite one!) Date: September 18, 2020Author: Codex Justinianeus 6 Comments This is an article that I’ve been meaning to write for some time now, and the reason I’m choosing to do it now is really this: I think most defenses of “anti-universalism” coming out of Orthodox circles are incredibly weak and also uncharitable to our brothers and sisters who do support belief in universalism. This post is not so much an attempt to “prove” myself correct in this dispute, though I certainly do hope to do that, but rather my main intention...

Gov. Andrew Cuomo is discouraging New Yorkers from holding family gatherings on Thanksgiving to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. “My personal advice is you don’t have family gatherings — even for Thanksgiving,” the governor said during a conference call with reporters Wednesday.

Bipartisan attacks on our nation’s institutions and the integrity of our electoral processes create the appearance of consensus that our government is illegitimate. The ink was not yet dry on President Trump’s certificate of election in 2016 when The Resistance kicked into high gear, attacking the integrity of our electoral system. Less than a month after his election, Hollywood leftists such as Martin Sheen began running television ads imploring GOP electors to abandon the incoming president and vote for someone else. When that plan went sideways, leftists shifted to a new strategy: Proclaim the president illegitimate by attacking our election...

A Michigan Court of Claims judge on Tuesday struck down Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson's directive that sought to ban the open carry of firearms at polling places on Election Day. Judge Christopher Murray granted the pro-gun-rights groups who filed the lawsuit a preliminary injunction, effectively reversing Benson's October 16 order and eliminating a universal ban on the open carry of firearms at or within 100 feet of polling locations or absentee counting boards on Election Day..... Murray wanted to narrowly define his argument, writing, "The Court's duty is not to act as an overseer of the Department of State,...

As Twitchy reported earlier, Joe Biden made an appearance Tuesday in Georgia to an intimate gathering. Apparently deciding to voice what everyone already knew, Biden introduced himself as Jill Biden’s husband and Kamala Harris’ running mate: “Y’all think I’m kiddin’, don’t ya.”

George Washington University Law School Professor Jonathan Turley wrote in an op-ed in The Hill on Wednesday: Feeling disrespected, Democrats are threatening acts of retaliation in changing the Supreme Court or the Senate. But the most unhinged was the idea to impeach Amy Coney Barrett after she takes her seat. This option was raised by columnist Norman Ornstein, who wrote that if she “immediately votes for voter suppression” after rising to the Supreme Court, “she should quickly be impeached” because President Trump “asked her openly to act to tilt the scales of the election.”
