Nigeria witnessed scenes of violence and chaos as protests calling for an end to police brutality continued overnight and into Wednesday, despite a 24-hour curfew and multiple eyewitness reports of soldiers opening fire on protesters. Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said Wednesday that one person had died at a hospital in Lagos, the country's financial capital, after a shooting in the upmarket suburb of Lekki on Tuesday, but did not confirm whether the victim was a protester. "This is an isolated case. We are still investigating if he was a protester," he said on Twitter. Earlier he said 30 people...

Ben Shapiro put out a video explaining why he’s voting for Trump this year after not having voted for him in 2016. In the middle of a litany of policy successes, he said, “He’s resisted using the federal government to control everybody’s life during COVID. That’s a big thing. This is the biggest government power grab during my lifetime, and Trump refused to do it.” Under immense pressure by the media and other Democratic operatives, at a time when nearly all global leaders were using the pandemic as an excuse to seize greater control, Trump did not.

An avid Colorado hiker looking for a new challenge traded in her trail shoes for high heels to climb some of the state’s highest peaks. Erin Ton, 22, switched to the unconventional hiking footwear last month after climbing 57 of the state’s “fourteeners” — Colorado mountains over 14,000 feet — since August 2018, The Colorado Springs Gazette reported. “I thought it would be a fun celebration to hike Elbert again, but do it in high heels,” Ton told the paper, referring to Mount Elbert, the first of the fourteeners she hiked years before. “It’s kind of a full-circle thing.” Since...

Some readers thought we exaggerated when we reported on California’s plan to ban the sale of gas-powered cars by 2035. Well, now there’s a bill in Congress promising the same for everyone in America. Oregon Sen. Jeff Merkley and four other Democrats introduced legislation Tuesday that would mandate 100% of cars sold in 2035 be electric and 50% of new cars by 2025—a Biden Presidency from now. Last year a mere 2% of car sales were electric, notwithstanding the $7,500 federal tax credit, state subsidies and other incentives such as car-pool lane access. Kamala Harris declined to put her name...

During the first week of early voting, trends in smaller counties are mirroring what's happening in the bigger ones. JEFFERSON COUNTY, Tenn. — Counties of all sizes across the state of Tennessee broke records a week into early voting. More rural areas saw increased voter turnout, but their line wait times at the polls stayed low. A week into early voting, more than a million Tennesseans cast a ballot across the state. That's according to the Tennessee Secretary of State's Office. Voting looks different at polls all across the state, but one thing is the same: Even in the...

This is going to be an election unlike any other, especially considering the totalitarian waiving of many established (by legislatures) election rules by fiat, without input from the constitutional decision makers. Hence, “Election Day” will likely be drawn out into election week, or even month. In light of this anomaly, a regulation should be put in place (by the same fiat) that NO ELECTION RESULTS BY ANY STATE ARE TO BE RELEASED ON ELECTION DAY. In fact, the latest date that mailed ballots are to be accepted (California allows 17 FREAKIN’ DAYS) should be the date that states report their...

Journalists seem to have no interest in just why Joe Biden's handlers have so frequently called "lids" on his campaigning in this final stretch, and totally pulled him out of public view for virtually this entire week. Nope: in fact, it's a carefully calculated strategy. Joe Biden is a brilliant, modern-day Sun Tzu, adopting his maxim to not interfere when your enemy is destroying himself. At least, that's the explanation of Biden's disappearing act . . . if you believe CNN. Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

RUSH: Let’s move to Trump. Trump last night at a rally in Erie, Pennsylvania… I love this. Trump last night, he’s innovating on his own rally format. He used a technique popularized by this program. We popularized the video montage and then, here on radio, the audio montage. So here is what Trump did. He’s in Erie, Pennsylvania. This is an energy sector state. It is a...

Steve Bullock.
