At Safeway and picked up my dinner. Standing in line minding my own business. Gal in front of me starts looking around and suddenly turns directly to my face "You need to back up!" she exclaimed. Slight LOL "I don't think I heard you" my reply "You are standing to close! You need to move away!" She hissed. "Okay" I responded. Walked past her and she says "Whuh!", place my dinner on stack of beers at front of the register and then exclaims "Well, that's..." I kept on walking. I don't need no shit off some thin lipped, mealy mouth,...

Imagine if you will all the companies that do business with the federal government. But they wouldn’t be doing business with them if they’re pushing this stuff. So this will have the effect to making these companies reevaluate pushing this kind of stuff and stop a lot of it from spreading elsewhere, not just in government. Not only that, but to get a federal grant, you will have to not be engaging in this kind of racist ideology. Imagine how that will influence academia, it may indeed stop a lot of indoctrination. It would be hard to overstate how important...

  • When Joe Biden’s in Town, but It’s Hard to Tell

TAMPA, Fla. — As in-person spectacles go, Joseph R. Biden Jr.’s pandemic-era campaign appearances can resemble the pandemic-era N.F.L. — quiet, eerie and almost entirely fan-free. There is scant physical evidence that the former vice president and Democratic nominee is in town. His visits are scarcely publicized beforehand, logistical details are closely held and his event venues serve as much as video studios as places of gathering. Barely anyone is allowed near the candidate. “I had to call an editor friend of mine at The Tampa Tribune to find out where he’d be,” said Rita Fox, a supporter of Mr....

Jackie Stallone, the mother of Hollywood actor Sylvester and one of Celebrity Big Brother’s most memorable contestants, has died aged 98. The larger-than-life character, who was known as an astrologer and wrestling promoter, “died in her sleep as she wished,” said her youngest son, Frank. “It was hard not to like her; she was a very eccentric and flamboyant person,” he added in an Instagram post. “Her mind was razor sharp until the day she died.” Born Jacqueline Frances Labofish on 29 November 1921, Stallone ran away from her home in Washington DC as a 15-year-old to join the circus....

President Trump gets a lot of heat for his answers to questions. Much of the criticism is appropriate, some of it is mock outrage, but one way or the other, Trump does answer the questions. In fact, he answers hundreds more questions than his opponent. COVID has been devastating for the country, but it’s been a boon for Joe Biden, who has undeniably lost a step or three and does not do well with sustained exposure. Since the former vice president is rarely made available for questioning, you’d think he would answer the questions that he faces on those few...

"I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country." Have you heard this famous declaration before? American patriot Nathan Hale said it on September 22, 1776, his last words before he was hanged for spying on British troops. How did this come to pass? Hale, born in Coventry, Connecticut, on June 6, 1755, and a teacher by trade, joined his five brothers in the fight for independence against the British.
  • MTA board to formally ban pooping in subways and buses

That you’re not supposed to do this should go without saying — but MTA bosses believe they need a rule explicitly banning defecating on the subway. The new rule is on the agenda for an MTA meeting Wednesday. The rule will ban defecating on the city’s subways, buses and transit facilities. Transit rules previously mandated $100 fines for straphangers who "create a nuisance, hazard, or unsanitary condition (including, but not limited to, spitting or urinating).” Creating an “unsanitary condition” surely includes pooping — but MTA officials think they have to be more specific.

    Belgian Doctors for Open Debate on the SARS/Coronavirus impact ^ | 9/5/2020 | https://docs4opendebate.be/en/signatories/
We, Belgian doctors and health professionals, wish to express our serious concern about the evolution of the situation in the recent months surrounding the outbreak of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. We call on politicians to be independently and critically informed in the decision-making process and in the compulsory implementation of corona-measures. We ask for an open debate, where all experts are represented without any form of censorship. After the initial panic surrounding covid-19, the objective facts now show a completely different picture – there is no medical justification for any emergency policy anymore. The current crisis management has become totally disproportionate...

What a wild week! Hannity is reporting that Bloomberg Group paid the fines of 30 thousand felons in Florida so that they could vote. Cortez said, "Ginsberg's death should radicalize you!" (Cortez, sweety, with rioters killing children and postal workers and random police i mean, well, never mind.) In Twitter I found a guy that says he lives in Portland and everything is fine there with few isolated exceptions. Didn't the mayor flee from Portland? I asked him that. California Gov. Gavin Newsom has pointed out that the state’s wildfires are located primarily on federal land — and he’s right — but now he and other Democratic governors are trying to block the Trump administration’s effort to speed up the clearing of overgrown, tinder-dry forests. Twenty-three states, including California, Oregon and Washington, sued last month to stop the National Environmental Policy Act modernization, which would thin the regulatory thicket and red tape blamed for slowing down federal projects, including forest management on the government’s extensive Western lands.

One of the most famous episodes of Friends is set to be re-enacted with an all-black cast. Hosted by Bring It On and 10 Things I Hate About You star Gabrielle Union, the Friends table read will feature Sterling K Brown, Ryan Michelle Bathe, Uzo Aduba, Aisha Hinds, Kendrick Sampson and Jeremy Pope. Taking place on Zoom, the stars will re-enact the season three episode The One Where No One's Ready - which saw David Schwimmer's character Ross Geller desperately trying to get his friends to a black tie event on time, and Joey famously wearing all of Chandler's clothes...

The government has abandoned plans to let people officially change gender without medical checks - but ministers have promised to make the process cheaper and "more straightforward". In its response to a consultation on the 2004 Gender Recognition Act, the government concluded that "the balance struck in this legislation is correct". "There are proper checks and balances in the system and also support for people who want to change their legal sex," women and equalities minister Liz Truss said in a written statement to parliament on Tuesday. By sticking with the current legislation, the government has backtracked on former prime...

All told, these studies tell a consistent story in which political discrimination strongly impacts conservatives, creating a hostile climate for their beliefs. Imagine denying results like these if five consecutive studies reported that one in three academics would discriminate against a black applicant, or that half of women reported a hostile climate against them in their department.

President Trump on Tuesday complained that Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) should not be giving input on how to run the country, asking of the Somali refugee, "How is your country doing?" The president's attacks on Omar came as part of a broader diatribe against a group of freshmen congresswomen known as "The Squad," which consists of Omar and Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ayanna Pressley (D-Mass.). "We’re going win the state of Minnesota because of her, they say," Trump said of Omar. "She’s telling us how to run our country. How did you do where you came...
  • RV-size asteroid to get closer to Earth than the moon

Scientists have yet to pin down the asteroid's exact size, but it's not that large, likely between 14 feet and 32 feet (4.4 and 9.9 meters) long, according to CNEOS. This potentially RV-size asteroid was discovered only last week, on Sept. 18, by the Mount Lemmon Survey in Arizona, and announced the next day by the Minor Planet Center, a NASA-funded group that monitors minor planets, comets and natural satellites. (It's not unusual to find unknown asteroids; in September alone, the Minor Planet Center has announced the discovery of 244 near-Earth objects.) Passing by Earth will actually be a life-changing...
