Two COVID-19 patients who have been treated with the Israeli drug Opaganib have been showing signs of improvement after being on the drug for days. The Jerusalem Post reported that the patients had moderate-to-severe symptoms of the virus and one of them was in the ICU; after being treated with Opaganib and hydroxychloroquine — the anti-malarial drug that President Donald Trump has touted — both patients saw “significant improvement.” The patient in the ICU was released after taking the medications. Mark L. Levitt, the director of RedHill Biopharma — the Raleigh, N.C.-based company that developed Opaganib — said in an...

It was May 2014. I was interviewing then-private citizen Donald Trump for The American Spectator in his Trump Tower office. The subject in general was his view on issues of the day, along with a possible presidential run in 2016. But I had one question in particular that I wanted to ask. The question: There were a lot of Republicans who felt their presidential nominees, the perpetual targets of the media, never fought back when attacked. Were he to run, not to mention were he elected, would he fight back?: The press is extremely dishonest. Much of it. Some of...

Planned Parenthood is once again using the COVID-19 pandemic to expand abortion. This time, the largest abortion provider in the nation has announced its intention to expand telemedicine services nationwide, including abortion. Telemedicine generally allows physicians to communicate with patients remotely, which might work for some of Planned Parenthood’s shrinking health services. However, under a safety system put in place by the FDA called REMS (Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy), patients accessing telemedicine for abortion would still be required to come into the facility in order to obtain the abortion pill while the abortionist is remote. Under REMS, the abortion...

he coronavirus has focused the world’s attention on the woeful lack of ventilators, respiratory masks, and intensive care unit beds available in many countries. Far less attention has been paid to another pandemic-driven shortage lurking over the horizon: food. As trade walls go up and governments panic about preserving their own food sources, the coronavirus threatens to disrupt global supply chains. Russia, the world’s largest wheat exporter, is limiting grain exports from April to June. Egypt, the world’s biggest wheat importer, has ramped up grain purchases and stopped exports of legumes. The looming food shortage has an echo of the...

A pro-life sidewalk counselor won a victory in court this week when the City of Detroit, Michigan agreed to drop a misdemeanor against him for standing outside an abortion facility March 31. The AP reports city leaders agreed to dismiss the citation after Andrew Belanger filed a lawsuit accusing the city and pro-abortion Democrat Gov. Gretchen Whitmer of violating his First Amendment rights. The parties reached a settlement Tuesday in front of a federal judge, according to the report. Whitmer and city officials also agreed in the settlement that Belanger was not doing anything illegal, the report states. On March...

Talk-show legend Rush Limbaugh is making an extraordinary offer to President Donald Trump, giving the commander in chief a chance to connect with even more Americans by taking over his top-rated radio program. "If the president wants to do this -- if he wants to come on and have a show -- we'll let him do it," Limbaugh said on his national broadcast Wednesday. "I'm here making it known -- and I will call later, too -- but I'm doing it here, making it known that this program is available to the president if he wants to audition, if he...

Maryville Baptist Church members have started receiving a letter from Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear requiring self-quarantine as a result of parking their cars in the church parking lot on Easter Sunday. Kentucky State Police troopers wrote down license plate numbers and placed notices on churchgoers’ cars in the church parking lot. Inside the church, the small number of people were seated more than six feet apart. The church also set up speakers outside for parking lot service. But those who wanted to stay in their cars to hear the message were intimidated by the police ticketing every car and some...

On this date in 1841, Peter Robinson hanged for a New Jersey murder. Little could he have imagined that he was on his way to the literary canon. A wealthy merchant and banker named Abraham Suydam had disappeared, and suspicion quickly settled on Robinson — one of his debtors, who suddenly seemed to be a little bit flush with cash and a timepiece too rich for his station in life... It is commonly thought — though there does not appear to be any direct evidence for it — that this nationally infamous body-under-the-floorboards murder helped to inspire Edgar Allan Poe‘s...

A group of North Carolina Christians filed a lawsuit against Greensboro authorities today after they were arrested for praying outside a local abortion clinic. Alliance Defending Freedom filed suit Tuesday against the city of Greensboro and Guilford County on behalf of pro-life North Carolina citizens whom police arrested for engaging in peaceful prayer outside an abortion facility. As ADF explained in a letter sent to the city on April 2, the arrests should not have occurred because the pro-life members of the Christian ministry Love Life were in compliance with a Guilford County emergency proclamation related to the coronavirus crisis....

President Trump took off Wednesday on House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, inaccurately saying she invited people to “parties” in San Francisco’s Chinatown in late February after he had taken his first significant steps to try to limit the U.S. spread of the coronavirus. Trump said at his daily White House news briefing that after he barred travelers from China on Feb. 2 and set up screening rules for U.S. citizens returning from the country, “Nancy Pelosi was trying to have in San Francisco parties in Chinatown because she thought it would be great.” Trump was misleadingly describing a tour of Chinatown...

[Catholic Caucus] Cardinal Screams Like a Demon "In emergencies, I have no objection to confession by video," an ignorant Leiria-Fátima Cardinal António Marto told ReligionDigital.org (April 14) although such confessions are invalid whether Marto "allows" them or not.Marto claimed that "the Holy Spirit" allegedly "also acts in this way."
