Over the last few years, I've heard more and more casual acquaintances complain that they no longer have any idea of where to go to for reporting they can actually believe. These were not supporters of President Donald Trump nor even conservatives, but their frustration did stem in a large measure from the recent and rapid degeneration of ethics in the press, most notably evidenced by their treatment of the president. As many of us predicted, their histrionics and unprecedented bias is turning a lot of people off. Now, we have something a bit more grave than a sham impeachment...

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- As worries about the spread of the coronavirus confine millions of Californians to their homes, concern is growing about those who have no homes in which to shelter. California has more than 150,000 homeless people, the most in the nation, and there's concern that as the rest of the state's residents are being told to stay apart and to frequently wash their hands, the homeless are living just as they did before the outbreak. Gov. Gavin Newsom on Wednesday said it's possible 60,000 could contract the virus. The governor announced he would spend $150 million on efforts...

Across the U.S., "preppers" have been planning for an event like the coronavirus for years. Now, as a run-on toilet paper and necessary supplies have created vast lines and panic in our nation's supermarkets and stores, some are able to sit back and relax -- while being humble enough to avoid "I told you so." “We're not laughing. We're not saying, ‘I told you so,' when people are out there fighting over toilet paper and hand sanitizers,” said Ohio resident Paul Buescher.

Every Briton could get cash payments from the government amid fears the coronavirus crisis could leave millions of people without jobs. The extraordinary move is being considered by ministers as the scale of the economic meltdown the country faces becomes clear - with warnings that 'social distancing' measures could see GDP slump by 20 per cent and the hospitality sector effectively disappear. Boris Johnson suggested last night that a 'universal basic income' - or UBI - is among the options on the table to avoid families being plunged into poverty and mass unrest as UK plc grinds to a halt....

Wuhan Corona Virus (COVID19) is a legitimate health concern, but it is no cause for panic or irrational hysteria. It is not the 21st Century equivalent of the Black Death.’ At least not in our country, we have state of the art medicine and hospitals as well as a team of doctors that are well trained. But in third world countries, it could be totally different. Especially in the middle-east where Muslim leaders call for their followers to rely solely on God for the treatment of diseases. As the New Arab reported Iraqi cleric Muqtada al-Sadr has been mocked online...

There’s an old joke in Mexico: a man is driving on the wrong side of a crowded freeway. Cars swerve, some spin out of control; others barely manage to avoid a collision. It’s utter chaos. Mexico’s president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO), has been driving on the wrong side of the road during the coronavirus crisis. At first, López Obrador followed the playbook of denial and finger pointing. Two weeks ago, when the virulence of the disease was already apparent, he suggested Mexicans should carry on hugging each other, social distancing be damned. On Sunday, López Obrador turned even more...

If there’s one thing we’ve learned so far from our nation’s reaction to COVID-19, is that human life is worth protecting…well, sometimes. Interestingly, this now seems to be a shared bipartisan mentality. I marvel at the extraordinary measures taken and money spent to keep people from harm, especially the most vulnerable, during this global #Coronavirus response. I’m amazed at all of the rhetoric about caring for people and keeping one another safe. Of course, I fully agree with the desire to protect human life and the self-sacrifice required to do that. Although, that so-called “self-sacrifice†is now government mandated. We’re...

Australia and New Zealand announced they would close their borders to non-citizens Thursday in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. The prime ministers from both countries revealed the plans to shut down borders, citing that most cases of the novel coronavirus came from overseas. Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison said the ban would go into effect Friday at 9 p.m. and stay in place indefinitely, while New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said the closure would occur at midnight on Thursday, The Guardian reported. The bans in both countries would permit the partners or children of citizens or residents to...

Coffins of coronavirus victims were whisked away on a fleet of army trucks last night after a cemetery in northern Italy was overwhelmed by the death toll. The column of army trucks brought the dead out of Bergamo on Wednesday night in what Italians have called 'one of the saddest photos in the history of our country'. The cemetery in Bergamo can no longer cope with the mounting death toll in the city, where more than 4,300 people have been infected and at least 93 have died. Mortuaries are full and crematorium staff have been handling 24 bodies a day,...

Woo-Hu! It’s Throwback Thursday. “Dirty hands are dangerous. To keep the disease away be cultured; before eating, wash your hands with soap.” Soviet poster from 1955, words by Vladimir Mayakovsky. Which is a great excuse for taking a brief break from pandemic planning to make a quick observation about the Democrats deep bench strength. Crotchety Joe and Cantankerous BernieIn that ironic sense that the Left is so good at, it strikes me that the last two Democrats standing (sort of) are Joe “you’re full of s**t” Biden and Bernie “I'm dealing with a f---ing global crisis” Sanders. These are the...

There are three accounts in the New Testament of Jesus Christ feeding a multitude of people with a handful of loaves of bread and a few small fish. In the Gospel of Matthew, the number of people is listed as 4,000. In the Gospels of Luke and Mark, the number is stated to be 5,000. According to all three gospels, large crowds of people follow Jesus into a remote area, where he preaches to them for several hours. (The account in Matthew says that the crowds are with Jesus for "three days"). Christ's disciples advise him to send the crowds...

Beaches in Florida are finally closing due to coronavirus concerns after local governments took action. Local officials in Clearwater Beach, which appeared earlier this week packed with visitors, voted to close by Monday. Beaches in Naples and in other communities in southwest Florida also were being closed. Meanwhile, new images show wild spring breakers continuing to party on the sand in Miami, despite South Beach's closings there as well, in response to the deadly, flu-like virus, also known as COVID-19.

MEXICO CITY - Mexico’s government is resisting implementing strong measures to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus, even as President Trump said Wednesday that he would block the entry of asylum seekers and ban nonessential travel across the U.S.-Mexico border. On Wednesday morning, Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said he wouldn’t close airports, shut down businesses or take other steps that might damage the economy.

The Hunt is 1 hour and 29 minutes of satire. I was in a theater, so I contained the laughing out loud to smirking, chuckles and the occasional knowing side glance at my companion. This is a fun movie. If you wish to see a training film, this is not it. There are quite a few guns in the movie. If you wish to criticize their use, you will find plenty to criticize. I do not expect satire to be realistic. If you want political commentary that eviscerates the Woke left and political insanity… there is plenty in this movie.It...

An Open Data Clinical Trial for COVID-19 Prevention ________ BREAKING UPDATE: Clinical trial by Gautret, Raoult, et al. (2020) What is this initiative? We're an independent group of scientists and physicians working on an open-data clinical trial for prevention of COVID-19, through the use of hydroxychloroquine in combination with other therapeutic agents. Unlike a typical commercial drug trial, our objective is to share trial data with the public* and health-care professionals as close to real-time as possible (with a reasonable level of data quality assurance). Given the rapidly spreading coronavirus pandemic, we're looking for every possible means to fast-track the...

One man finally learned how to play the saxophone after wanting to for a long time. Then his wife suggested taking his talents to the local cow field. After he began to play, the cows flocked to him and his music. The video has garnered thousands of views since the original posting.

The fact that former Vice President Joe Biden, now on his third try for the presidency, remains the last "moderate" standing says more about his now-vanquished rivals than about Biden. The same media that post running tabs on President Donald Trump's "lies" ignore, downplay or otherwise dismiss Biden's gaffes, memory lapses and frequent incoherence. He's Uncle Joe, the regular guy from Scranton, Pennsylvania, who understands the common man. So what if he says, without proof, that he worked to "desegregate restaurants and movie houses of Wilmington, Delaware"? So what if he says since 2007, "150 million people" -- almost half...
