The Monterey Bay is rich in beautiful sea life, with its pacific spiny dogfish, great whites, bat rays, harbor seals, sea lions, anemones, plankton, sea stars, and so much more. And of course, when young marine biologists look beyond this corner of the Pacific Ocean, the living permutations seem limitless. A quarter of a million species fill the world’s sprawling oceans, which cover more than two-thirds of the planet. As many as two million species are believed to lie undiscovered.
  • Christmas Day killing drives home danger of Philly’s sanctuary city policy

On Christmas Day, according to police, Josue Osorio-Quino brutally stabbed to death Juana Us-Perez in front of her children. He also stabbed, fortunately not fatally, her 14-year-old son, who had tried to protect his mother. We have since learned from court documents that this murder suspect is an illegal alien. He has previously been deported. Twice. Osorio-Quino could have gone anywhere. Why did he come to Philadelphia? Because Mayor Kenney’s declaration that we are a sanctuary city acts like a magnet.

America’s Mayor has the real story about Obama-era corruption in Ukraine. – Rudy Giuliani is currently the subject of an ongoing smear campaign by the Democrats and their corrupt media toadies. This is not surprising given the fact that the former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York has spent most of the last year investigating the rampant corrupt in Ukraine committed by Joe Biden and various other high-ranking Democrats and their ne’er-do-well children. Smearing the messenger has always been the standard response by the Democrat/media complex whenever any investigator is hovering right over the target. Just ask...

A source close to the Trump administration informs Breitbart News that Army Lt. Col. Yevgeny Vindman, a senior ethics lawyer for the National Security Council (NSC), is in charge of reviewing all publications by current and former NSC officials. The official added that Yevgeny Vindman could have seen former National Security Advisor John Bolton’s draft manuscript after it was submitted for prepublication review at the end of December. The review is a standard process that allows the NSC to review book manuscripts, op-eds, or any other material for any classified material to be eliminated before publication.

Post #27. With so many rats running for president in 2020 it's hard to keep up with who's in and who's out. Hopefully, this post will help. This thread will be posted each week, likely on Monday, with the dropouts from the previous week and newly declared candidates noted. Below is a list of declared candidates and their occupation. Below that is a list of dropouts, their occupation and the date they dropped from the race. Dropout(s) in the past week: none. It doesn't get any better than this. Newly declared candidates from last week: Thankfully, none. Same counts as...

The blood libel is one of the most hateful and destructive lies launched against the Jewish people over the centuries. While it takes on many different forms, it boils down to the false accusation that the Jews would kidnap and kill a non-Jewish child (or adult), using the victim’s blood for some ritual purpose. In the last week, it has raised its ugly head once again. According to the ADL, “The ‘blood libel’ refers to a centuries-old false allegation that Jews murder Christians – especially Christian children – to use their blood for ritual purposes, such as an ingredient in...

New Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot took office in May facing major worries, among them the city’s woefully underfunded pensions, a projected $800 million budget deficit, and one of America’s highest large-city crime rates. Yet one of her first moves as mayor was to appoint . . . a chief equity officer. In her view, all of Chicago’s woes are smaller than its bigger one: it is “two cities,” where racial outcomes differ dramatically. The equity job’s purpose, as a local paper described the cabinet position, was to lead local government in “uprooting . . . inequity in just about every...

Back about a decade ago with the housing meltdown of 2008, followed by our lovely leader for the next 8 years, many of us started thinking about what life would be like after 'it' happened. Thankfully 'it' never happened. But one of our concerns was a pandemic, not just due to the direct suffering it could cause, but the indirect consequences, such as disruption of the food supply and possibly disruption of utilities. On a disaster scale, I would rate this somewhat in the middle, with hurricanes, earthquakes, and tornadoes being the easiest to deal with, since they're localized, and...
  • The Davos Crowd Embraces Big Global Government. ‘Stakeholder capitalism’ empowers unaccountable elites at the expense of free-market nationalism.

These are difficult days for the elites caricatured as “Davos men.” But one might not know it reading the strident remarks coming out of the World Economic Forum last week. Perhaps the globe-trotters in Switzerland ought to ponder what has run amok with today’s version of “globalism,” and there are lessons from history that may help them. Salesforce chairman and co-CEO Marc Benioff said on Tuesday that “capitalism as we have known it is dead, and this obsession that we have with maximizing profits for shareholders alone has led to incredible inequality and a planetary emergency.” This is in keeping...

In a small step for man but a giant leap for baked goods, chocolate chip cookies have become the first food to be baked in space. The round biscuits were prepared in a special oven on board the International Space Station (ISS), led by commander Luca Parmitano and astronaut Christina Koch. The process was a real mission and it took several long days for the crew to experiment with different methods....

The last couple of years have provided some watershed moments in the history of journalism. Journalists have been targeted and murdered, they’ve destroyed the legitimacy major of political parties, they’ve penetrated the digital gates that protect national security secrets and at times, whether intentionally or inadvertently, they have become as big as the stories they were covering. One such moment occurred this week in South America, as Pulitzer Prize winning American Journalist Glenn Greenwald, now a resident of Brazil, was charged by Brazilian prosecutors of providing assistance to a group of hackers who were monitoring the phone calls of politicians...

TOKYO -- Countries with citizens in the central Chinese city that’s the epicenter of a viral outbreak are planning evacuations as the number of illnesses grow and China takes drastic measures to try to stop the spread of the virus. A look at steps being taken: CHINA: The government cut transportation links to and from the city of Wuhan on Jan. 22 and has since expanded those controls to several nearby cities. The New York Times makes a final desperate play in its role as bullhorn for the Deep State. – Ok, so, this was inevitable: After the White House defense team devastated the Democrats’ impeachment scam with a simple recitation of the actual facts at hand on Saturday, the corrupt hacks at the New York Times publish yet another narrative-setter on behalf of their political party of choice. The writers of the piece are Hillary Clinton tool Maggie Haberman and Obama hack Michael Schmidt, which is really pretty much all you need to know as far as the slant the piece...

One thing that ought to be unimpeachable to all Americans is the value and respect due our soldiers and their families. They will always be needed, and the debt we owe them is great. The world vacillates between the need to forcefully confront evil people and regimes that impinge on the rights of others and working to create a world that promotes and maintains peace without war. War is hell. War is sometimes necessary. Because the cost of war is so high, it should never be the first choice nor be taken lightly. The play “Last Out – Elegy of...
