Joe Biden admits he leveraged his White House position to have then Ukraine's leading prosecutor Viktor Shokin fired in March 2016, but claims it was because Shokin wasn’t doing enough. Governor Phil Murphy today signed legislation (S1963) mandating comprehensive disclosure and transparency requirements for the system of civil asset forfeiture. “New Jersey law enforcement agencies currently have no permanent statutory requirement to disclose civil asset forfeitures,” said Governor Murphy. “This legislation would boost confidence in our justice system by requiring county prosecutors to track and report data on this practice. Allowing the public to understand how assets are being seized, where seized funds go, and where forfeited property is going is a huge step forward for transparency and accountability.” Under the bill, county prosecutors would submit quarterly reports to the...

MELVILLE, N.Y. — Chris Levi’s fellow soldiers were sure he was dead. The Humvee he commanded in Baghdad had been torn apart by a projectile, and so had his body. When he awoke several minutes later, he followed his training, trying to assess his injuries. “I tried to wiggle my toes, and I couldn’t move them,” he recalled. Fearing he had been paralyzed, he reached down to feel his lower body. “It’s kind of hard to describe,” he said. “You could feel wet meat, and I knew I lost my legs.” The device that nearly killed Mr. Levi in 2008...

From the linked article (https://www.inputmag.com/tech/microsoft-is-replacing-edge-with-its-new-chromium-browser-next-week): We already knew this was coming because Microsoft announced the new Edge's launch date last month, but it wasn't clear that users would be pushed to the new version. “Star Wars” is shrinking at the box office. “The Rise of Skywalker” is nearing $1 billion worldwide, but it’s way behind the previous installments. “The Force Awakens” finished its theatrical run with $2 billion worldwide. That was an enormous hit. But the next chapter, “The Last Jedi,” ended up with $1.3 billion, a significant fall off. “Skywalker” shows “Star Wars” fatigue. It’s not quite at $1 billion, and it’s getting ready to say goodbye. Disney will keep it in movie theaters for a while but the big push is over.

Prosecutors want former Rep. Chris Collins to go to federal prison for up to 57 months for launching an insider trading scheme with a phone call to his son from the White House lawn in June 2017. Not only did Collins share secret information that allowed his son and others to dump stock at the expense of others, the then-congressman also lied about it all later to the FBI, prosecutors noted.
