U.S.—Look out, Beyond Meat -- a new competitor has emerged in the market of turning vegetables into a food that tastes just like meat. But while companies like Beyond Meat use laboratories to turn vegetables into something tasty, this new process uses a much more natural method: feeding the vegetables to a cow. The startup, which goes by the much simpler brand name of “Meat,” came upon this process after using hundreds of millions of venture capital dollars to research how to turn vegetable products into something delicious that could be used as a burger. “Vegetables are ugly and horrible,...

The most formidable enemy of the American people suffered a grievous and shocking blow a week ago, and the enemy did not react well to the attack. There was wailing and gnashing of teeth, rending of garments, and fanatical chants of “death to middle America!” There is great fear and panic about potential retaliation. But the outrageous, dangerous and unstable man who launched this reckless and unprovoked attack—Ricky Gervais—returned safely to England nonetheless. Britain is threatening to retaliate by sending us one of their ne’er-do-well princes. Oh, and President Trump also killed a top Iranian general.

Editor's Note: This column was authored by Brian Ericson. Despite building pressure this week, Nancy Pelosi has maintained she will withhold the articles of impeachment from the Senate until the upper body decides how it will conduct its trial — strategically drawing out the political fallout for Trump as Democrats face the likely scenario of a divisive primary season. Indeed, with an inevitably ugly nominating contest on the horizon, Democrats can only hope that the stain of impeachment will be able to knock Trump down enough notches for their battered nominee to stand a decent chance. And much of the trouble...

The FBI informed the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court on Friday of the steps it is taking, including "repeated messaging," to ensure valid FISA warrant applications following a scathing Justice Department watchdog report. A lengthy filing details a timetable of reforms and training the FBI will take to address concerns about serious errors and missteps found in the bureau's efforts to wiretap Carter Page, an American foreign policy adviser who helped Trump's 2016 campaign. **SNIP** Wray stressed the importance of striking a "balance" between these actions and protecting the security of the public. In order to emphasize the "importance" of compliance...

We have just entered a new decade, a decade where every month and every day will be absolutely crucial in deciding what the future will look like. Towards the end of January, chief executives, investors and policymakers will gather in Davos for the 50th anniversary of the World Economic Forum. We demand that at this year’s Forum, participants from all companies, banks, institutions and governments immediately halt all investments in fossil fuel exploration and extraction, immediately end all fossil fuel subsidies and immediately and completely divest from fossil fuels. We don’t want these things done by 2050, 2030 or even...

With the new decade upon us, policymakers should make a New Year’s resolution to revamp a set of environmental rules that are more outmoded than the disco era and leisure suits they predate. Recently, 33 industry groups sent a letter to the White House Council on Environmental Quality Chair Mary Neumayr requesting to “expeditiously proceed†with plans to modernize the outdated National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) regulations.NEPA was enacted with the best of intentions while the Environmental Protection Agency was still in its infancy. It began, modestly enough, as an effort to better understand potential negative impacts that major construction...

I did not imagine things could get much worse for Patrick Reed, but it appears that they have. One month after Reed's bunker incident at the Hero World Challenge, where he was filmed moving sand from behind his ball with his golf club, it was revealed that he recently sent a letter to Brandel Chamblee of Golf Channel warning him about using the word "cheating" on air. According to Eamon Lynch of Golfweek, Chamblee received a letter from Reed's lawyer warning him about some of his language following the Hero World Challenge. Here's what Chamblee said: "To defend what Patrick...

A man who allegedly robbed a pharmacy in Philadelphia flashed a demand note that said he needed the money for his sick child, police said. In video released by Philadelphia police, the suspect, wearing a grey hoodie and dark gloves, entered a Rite Aid store January 3 and took an item to the register. The store clerk can be seen scanning the item and putting it in a plastic bag. Is it possible President Donald Trump may have perfectly played the Iran conflict? He’s been criticized for different and various reasons by people on the left and on the right. There’s been a real concern that the president could get us into a war with Iran. It’s early but it seems like Trump has effectively fired a warning shot at Iran to ramp down their continuing escalations — without risking more American lives. If that’s how it plays out, it will be hard not to credit the president for his handling of this matter. To those critical of the president’s...

What will we do without Marianne Williamson in the race? – The new age guru – whatever that actually means – and fantastic dancer and debater ended her doomed-to-fail campaign on Friday, and hardly anyone noticed. Kind of like when radical Texan Julian Castro ended his campaign back in late December…or maybe it was early January, I forget which and don’t care enough to go look it up. So, the protected minority candidates keep on dropping out and the pasty old geriatric white males keep movin’ on up in the Democrat field. How old is the Democrat field? Take a...

A U.S. Department of Education investigation has revealed the extent of foreign influence at America’s universities. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos told reporters in December that six universities received $1.3 billion in foreign funds from hostile nations aiming to undermine American interests, including China and Russia. DeVos confirmed that these numbers are just "scratching the surface," and countless other universities likely have entered into similar agreements with foreign governments. China is exploiting the university system in part through their "Thousand Talents program," which has turned legions of Americans in privileged positions throughout the public and private sector into spies. This is...

Paul Krugman, the Nobel prize winning economist who’s been wrong about everything from the internet to economic cycles (repeatedly) has - gasp! - had his IP address embarrassingly compromised!!!! Or so he claims. Some critics are a bit dubious, claiming he’s pulling an Eichenwald and trying to get out in front of the story (pardon the French, but we’re talking about progressive pervs here).I ask you, does this serious economic journalist look like a pervert to you?Of course he does but don’t hold that against his cats, they were brought there against their will. “Yeah, I’m with pedo, but it’s strictly...

“Since his death, Soleimani has been hailed as the "Che Guevara of the Middle East" in some quarters…They're packaging Soleimani as this foreign policy guru, martyr, strategist.†(AFP) Could anything be more idiotic?Certainly both Soleimani and Che Guevara have vast appeal to vast numbers of people who are malicious, covetous, lazy and stupid. But that’s about as far as the similarities go.In a way, radical Islam functions as a transnational form of Bolshevism. What communists do (or attempt) within nations, radical Islam attempts among nations, with the U.S. (the Great Satan) and Israel in the role of the local successful...

The Illinois Medicaid program will now cover transgender surgeries for qualifying patients in the Prairie State. In Orwellian fashion the procedures for so-called gender transition are referred to as “gender-affirming” when in reality they do not affirm biological and anatomical realities but instead affirm a person’s perceived gender identity. The procedure must be determined “medically necessary,” according to a provider notice posted by the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services. One of the requirements for this designation is that the patient be diagnosed with Gender Dysphoria. Those seeking genital surgery must meet more stringent requirements than those seeking non-genitalia related...
