Video at the link. I've been there a couple of times. Women are not permitted on the main floor. They sit in a gallery mostly not show in this video. Little girls, however, can be on the main floor presumably with a male guardian. There is one particularly cute girl who shows up several times. (Look for her starting at 7:50.) It looks like she's videoing with her cell phone. ML/NJ

The temblor hit about 12:19 a.m. with an epicenter at Compton Boulevard and Alameda Street, an intersection full of shops and not far from the Compton Courthouse, USGS said. The quake originated at a depth of about 15 miles. People reported feeling the shaking as far as Oxnard and Garden Grove. Multiple small aftershocks followed, including a magnitude 1.6 at 1:17 a.m. centered beneath Centennial High School in Compton, on the border with Willowbrook, and a magnitude 1.4 one minute later near the corner of Compton Boulevard and Wilmington Avenue, about a block west of the mainshock, USGS reported.

White House senior adviser Jared Kushner will lead a US delegation to Israel at the end of the month to meet Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Blue and White chairman Benny Gantz, a senior administration official said on Thursday. Kushner has been leading President Donald Trump's effort to develop a peace plan for Israelis and Palestinians. After proposing a $60 billion aid package for the region last summer, he has yet to unveil a proposed political plan that gets at the thorniest issues in the decades-old conflict, with Netanyahu struggling to form a governing coalition. The official, speaking on condition...

Retired Admiral William McRaven has published an op-ed in Friday’s New York Times titled, “Our Republic Is Under Attack From the President,” urging that Trump be removed from office — “the sooner, the better.” McRaven’s op-ed gives a military imprimatur to what President Donald Trump has already likened to a “coup,” as Democrats attempt to impeach him with barely a year to go before the next presidential election. The admiral, well-respected for his role in overseeing the operation to kill Al Qaeda terrorist Osama bin Laden in 2011, argues that senior military leaders have lost confidence in the president and...

The Department of Veterans Affairs released an alarming report Friday showing that at least 60,000 veterans died by suicide between 2008 and 2017, with little sign that the crisis is abating despite suicide prevention being the VA's top priority. Although the total population of veterans declined by 18% during that span of years, more than 6,000 veterans died by suicide annually, according to the VA's 2019 National Veteran Suicide Prevention Annual Report. "VA is working to prevent suicide among all veterans, whether they are enrolled in VA health care or not," Wilkie said. "That's why the department has adopted a...

A group of conservative veterans is preparing to visit Washington to laud President Trump’s withdrawal of troops from northern Syria and to urge Republicans to back his intention to pull out of Afghanistan and other countries in the Middle East. Wyoming House Majority Whip Tyler Lindholm, who was in the Navy on 9/11, is helping organize the mid-November gathering featuring speeches at the National Press Club and lobbying visits to Congress. "If you listen to the sound clips of the war hawks who say you can’t pull out now because a vacuum will be created, and we can’t pull out...

The link between vaping and severe lung problems is getting a lot of attention. But scientists say they're also worried about vaping's effect on teenage brains. "Unfortunately, the brain problems and challenges may be things that we see later on down the road," says Nii Addy, associate professor of psychiatry and cellular and molecular physiology at Yale School of Medicine. Potential problems include attention disorders like ADHD, impulse control issues and susceptibility to substance abuse. There's no easy way to study precisely what nicotine is doing in a teenager's brain. But research on young animals shows that nicotine can interfere...

Have you ever eaten Froot Loops and thought, "This cereal isn’t gay enough?" Do you seek a safe space to eat your Rice Krispies? Are you concerned that your Corn Flakes aren’t sufficiently woke? Well, now Kellogg’s has the solution! Researchers discover belongings of a warrior on unique Bronze Age battlefield site Recent archaeological investigations in the Tollense Valley led by the University of Göttingen, the State Agency for Cultural Heritage in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the University of Greifswald have unearthed a collection of 31 unusual objects. Researchers believe this is the personal equipment of a Bronze Age warrior who died on the battlefield 3,300 years ago. This unique find was discovered by a diving team headed by Dr Joachim Krüger, from the University of Greifswald, and seems to have been protected in the river from the looting, which inevitably followed...

Joe Scarborough has provided a stunning example of the contempt that he, and the liberal media at large, have for the millions of Americans who support President Trump. On today's Morning Joe, Scarborough said people attending Trump rallies have a responsibility "to not be so stupid that they should be kept away from blenders." Scarborough went on to warn Trump supporters not to be "dumb" and "ignorant," saying they must educate themselves in order to see that Trump is lying to them. Get the rest of the story and view the video here.

Cummings was a liberal powerhouse from Maryland, while Meadows, 60, is a conservative who hails from North Carolina. The two men had little in common, but they shared a uniquely strong friendship on Capitol Hill. The bond was put on display at critical moments this year. During a dramatic House Oversight Committee hearing in February, in which President Trump's former fixer Michael Cohen was providing testimony, Cummings came to the defense of Meadows, who was accused of a "racist act" by Democratic Rep. Rashida Tlaib when he brought up Lynne Patton, a black woman who is a longtime friend of...

Police wanted to search the contents of an iPhone they found in Catrice Pittman’s purse, but she never confirmed whether it was hers and wasn’t offering up a passcode. Her defense attorney argued forcing her to do so would violate her rights against self-incrimination under the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution and Article 1 Section 12 of the Oregon Constitution. But a Marion County judge sided with police and prosecutors by ordering Pittman to enter her passcode. On Wednesday, the Oregon Court of Appeals agreed with that ruling -- in a first-of-its-kind opinion for an appeals court in this...

We the People have the right to keep and bear arms. It says it right here on this old Constitution. U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- The coming implementation of Constitutional Carry in Oklahoma has served to emphasize the logical flaws in the arguments of those opposed. Constitutional Carry is the removal of restrictions on the carry of handguns in most public places. It restores the state of the law to a close approximation of the law as it existed when the Constitution was signed or the Bill of Rights ratified. At that time, no permits were required to carry handguns either concealed or...

Who could have guessed that the words of Soviet secret police chief Lavrentiy Beria to Joseph Stalin, "Show me the man, and I will show you the crime," would be strangely embodied in American politics and jurisprudence in the 21st century? Moreover, according to Dr. StrangesÑhiff — congressman, chairman, and commissar — these wonderful words have recently found their way into the U.S. Constitution. Secret impeachment would seem to be a new idea, but the curious Dr. StrangesÑhiff borrowed it from the closed Soviet trials of dissidents, "enemies of the people," and other "undesirable elements." Bravo, comrade StrangesÑhiff! Please, continue...

Here is my worst-case impeachment scenario. A. Adam Schiff's kangaroo inquiry secretly drafts articles of impeachment. Their validity matters not one whit. B. The articles of impeachment (valid or bogus, it doesn't matter) go to the house floor. It passes easily, with every Democrat and some GOP congressmen voting to send it to the senate for an impeachment trial. C. Mitch McConnell immediately moves for a full Senate trial. He has already said he would do this, and I think I know why: his family is just as corrupt as the Biden family, and he wants Trump's swamp-draining to end...

The United States has been the most generous country in the world over the past decade. That’s the conclusion of the World Giving Index, a ranking that measured how likely residents of 128 countries were to practice acts of generosity. The index, from the U.K.-based nonprofit Charities Aid Foundation, is based on Gallup’s World Poll surveys of 1.3 million people. Between 2009 and 2018, interviewers asked respondents whether they had done the following in the last month: helped a stranger or someone they didn’t know who needed help, donated money to charity, or volunteered their time to an organization. At...

During a speech on the Senate floor on Thursday, Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) stated that while he welcomes the announcement of a ceasefire in Syria, “It is far from a victory.” Romney said, “I welcome the vice president’s announcement of a ceasefire, which will prevent further loss of life. I hope the agreement is honored. … The announcement today is being portrayed as a victory. It is far from a victory. Serious questions remain about how the decision was reached to precipitously withdraw from Syria and why that decision was reached.”

There’s been a standoff between New York City and utility company National Grid going on since May of this year. As you may recall, plans for a new natural gas pipeline from New Jersey were killed off by the state government under pressure from environmental activists. As a result, National Grid wound up imposing a moratorium on new gas hookups because the current supply was insufficient to serve additional customers. This has resulted in more than a thousand potential customers being unable to be hooked up. Now the Governor has come up with a unique plan to end the stalemate....
