The United States has been the most generous country in the world over the past decade.
Thats the conclusion of the World Giving Index, a ranking that measured how likely residents of 128 countries were to practice acts of generosity.
The index, from the U.K.-based nonprofit Charities Aid Foundation, is based on Gallups World Poll surveys of 1.3 million people.
Between 2009 and 2018, interviewers asked respondents whether they had done the following in the last month: helped a stranger or someone they didnt know who needed help, donated money to charity, or volunteered their time to an organization.
At the top of the list were the U.S., Myanmar and New Zealand. The countries that scored the lowest were Yemen, Greece and China.
The U.S. peaked on the World Giving Index in 2014, but has declined since then. The report authors called this a worrying trend thats also happening in other developed countries.

We’re also the most hated. Explain.
‘Myanmar’
They be even MORE generous if they hadn’t had to change all of their stationery letterhead and flags and buildings and road signs and stuff!
(Burma) ;)

The ‘Representative Republic-Challenged’ will always be Haters.
Everyone is welcome to form our system of government; we’ve got a d@mn good blueprint to work off of!
But, you’ve just got to kick out or kill the dictators, first. Maybe a few lawyers, too. And whatever else you do - do NOT hire Hillary! to help you, LOL! ;)
The U.S. peaked on the World Giving Index in 2014, but has declined since then.
Let’s review: Fraternal organizations are dying off (Shriner, Moose, Elk, etc); Church attendance is down; and youth expect to be paid to volunteer.
As the USA adopts European values; the world will suffer.
The last decade? It’s been many decades.
