  • NOAA debunks assertions that global warming has spurred more hurricanes

If your liver is hearty enough, you could play a drinking game over the rest of the holiday weekend, quaffing a shot of your favorite spirits every time you hear global warming mentioned in connection with the approach of Hurricane Dorian. Just don’t plan on getting behind the wheel until at least Tuesday. The basic strategy of the Left pushing state control of all energy usage as a means to total power is to blame any inclement weather on the carbon dioxide emissions that make the earth greener with more vegetation. Any weather event that inflicts mayhem on humans is...

HR 5183 b slingshots around more like a comet - a long, elliptical orbit with the star at one end of the oval. If HR 5183 b were in our Solar System, it would swing in closer than the orbit of Jupiter, and then way out farther than the orbit of Neptune. HR 5183 b is a massive gas giant that orbits a Sun-like main sequence star called HR 5183 around 103 light-years away. Because the exoplanet's orbit is so weird - it takes around 74 years to orbit the star, swooping out as far as over 30 astronomical units...
  • ABC Whines: Texas ‘Moving in the Opposite Direction’ on ‘Gun Reform’

In the wake of the mass shooting in Texas over the weekend, the liberal media did their predictable song and dance calling for staunch gun control measures. This time around, ABC’s Sunday Good Morning America whined about Texas loosening their gun laws to make it easier for law-abiding citizens to protect themselves. Meanwhile, on NBC’s Sunday Today, political director Chuck Todd seemed almost thankful that the shooting put gun control “front and center” again. During ABC’s coverage of the shooting, correspondent Rachel Scott gave the topic of gun control positive spin by dubbing it “gun reform”. And complained about President...

VIDEOHere is my report at 10 AM EDT on September 1, 2019 from just across the street from the cone of Hurricane Dorian. On this side of the street everything is fine with clear weather as you can see. This is in stark contrast from across the street where they are inside the cone of Hurricane Dorian with some really bad weather conditions including stormy weather and winds which are kicking up. As long the cone of Hurricane Dorian remains across the street, I expect everything here will remain fine.

  • Things Are Worse Than We Imagined in China

Earlier this week, I met with some Christian friends who have lived and worked in China for many years. What they shared with me was chilling and sobering. (They are well-connected and not simply airing personal opinions.) First, the crackdown against Christian believers in the country (not to mention the crackdown against Muslims and others, which we did not discuss in detail), is getting increasingly severe. Just a few years ago, there were real signs of change. Persecution was lessening and liberties were increasing. But not today. There is a systematic attempt to purge the Gospel from the nation. Even...

Why the delay in providing the public with information we have a right to know? The nation’s latest mass shooting — this time in Odessa, Texas — left at least five people dead and at least 21 others injured, including a police officer who was shot, on Saturday afternoon. In the ensuing hours after responding law enforcement said they killed the shooter, the demand to know the identity of the gunman grew louder across the internet.

The San Jose Fire Department says the incident began around 10 a.m. Saturday when hotel staff called 9-1-1 to report an apparent suicide involving chemicals, according to San Jose Fire Dept. Captain Mitch Matlow. At a media briefing early Sunday evening, Matlow indicated that the chemicals involved in the incident were identified, however could not reveal what those chemicals were due to an investigation by the San Jose Police Department. A chemical odor, described as a rotten egg smell, would remain detectable by guests. "The chemicals that caused the problem will not create an issue for guests when they first...

A UK group of climate activists is planning to fly drones close to Heathrow Airport next month in a direct action they hope will shut down the country’s largest airport for days or even longer. The planned action is in protest at the government’s decision to green-light a third runway at Heathrow. They plan to use small, lightweight “toy” drones, flown at head high (6ft) within a 5km drone ‘no fly’ zone around the airport - but not within flight paths. The illegal drone flights will also be made in the early morning at a time when there would not...

Full header: Dems explicitly vote to condemn 'religious liberty' Claim faithful have used beliefs 'to threaten civil rights' Democrats, who who famously booed the mention of God in their party platform, now have condemned "religious liberty" and praised the religiously "unaffiliated." The Washington Examiner reported the Democratic National Committee approved a resolution "taking aim at religious liberty." At a summer meeting in San Francisco, the DNC adopted a resolution concerning the "nonreligious." It explains that the the "Religiously Unaffiliated Demographic has tripled in the last two decades, now representing 25 percent of the overall American population and 35 percent of...

The CCP requires medical staff to register the evidence of patients’ religious belief in databases that the state uses to control every aspect of people’s lives.Last October, a pregnant woman from the eastern province of Shandong was rushed to the hospital because of heavy bleeding. The doctor’s prognosis was that the woman was in imminent danger, and she needed surgery immediately. A nurse was sent in to take the woman’s personal information. To the family’s dismay, the nurse was more interested in the woman’s religious beliefs rather than her health. “She’s in so much pain. Why are you asking her...

Charles Pope You Have to Serve Before You Sit – A Homily for the 22nd Sunday of the Year In the Gospel for Sunday’s Mass, the Lord Jesus summons us to a deeper appreciation for what brings true honor, for what makes a person truly great. As you may imagine, what the world considers great and honorable is rather different from what God thinks and sees. Let’s look at this Gospel in three parts and discover its paradoxical vision.I. THE PERSON who HONORS – The Lord is at a banquet...

Nothing triggers a leftist faster than a Chick-fil-A sandwich. That’s actually a sentence I lifted from my forthcoming book, “Culture Jihad: How to Stop the Left From Killing a Nation.” And the most recent triggering happened at the University of Kansas where a number of aggrieved faculty members are demanding that a Chick-fil-A franchise be removed from campus. “A bastion of bigotry,” the Sexuality & Gender Diversity Faculty and Staff Council wrote in a two-page letter to university leaders. “The culture of Chick-fil-A fosters hate and discrimination on multiple levels,” they declared. “In short, Chick-fil-A on KU’s campus stands in...

New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took a swipe not necessarily at the city of Boston, but at the men marching in the town's Straight Pride parade Saturday. Commenting on a tweeted video that shows mostly men with a few women marching, AOC said it looks like the men might have a "masculinity" problem. "For men who are allegedly so "proud" of being straight, they seem to show real incompetence at attracting women to their event," Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. "Seems more like a "I-Struggle-With-Masculinity" parade to me. Hope they grow enough over the next year to support / join LGBTQ fam next...

Iranian judoka Saeid Mollaei has requested political asylum in Germany after being forced to throw a match to avoid having to face an Israeli opponent. Israeli judoka Sagi Muki made history Wednesday when he became the first Israeli to win the gold medal at the the Judo World Championship finals in Japan, defeating Belgian opponent Matthias Casse. Mollaei had received a phone call from his mother in Iran instructing him to throw his match against Georgian Judoka Matthias Casse so that he would not have to face Muki in the semi-finals. A projectile was fired from Lebanese territory into northern Israel, landing in the town of Avivim, near the Israel-Lebanese border, the IDF reported Sunday afternoon. According to the preliminary IDF report, the projectile was an anti-tank missile, and was fired at an army vehicle near the border. There are currently no reports of injuries. The missile was fired days after the Lebanese terrorist group Hezbollah vowed to attack Israel following an alleged Israeli attack on a facility in Beirut. A report by Kuwait's Al Rai claimed that Hezbollah planned to strike Israeli targets within 72 hours, beginning last Friday. The...

Pope Francis on Sunday said he’s giving the Catholic church 13 new cardinals, including two churchmen who have worked to help migrants and several others who toil in poor countries or nations where Christians are a minority. […] One of them is Bologna Archbishop Matteo Zuppi, an Italian who for some 30 years guided the Roman basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, whose doors literally have been opened to let the homeless sleep inside on cold winter nights. The basilica is the focal point for a Catholic charity, Sant’Egidio, which runs programs including language instruction for newly arrived migrants, and...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Old Testament) 2 Kings 24 Jehoiachin King of Judah 8 Jehoiachin was eighteen years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem three months. His mother’s name was Nehushta daughter of Elnathan; she was from Jerusalem. 9 He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father had done. 10 At that time the officers of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon advanced on Jerusalem and laid siege to it, 11 and Nebuchadnezzar himself came up to the city while his officers were besieging it. 12 Jehoiachin king of Judah, his mother, his attendants, his...
