  • Philadelphia Wellness Check Results in Hysteria, Anti-gun owner Propaganda

U.S.A. –-(Ammoland.com)- On 28 August, 2019, relatives of a former gun dealer called the police because they said, they were concerned the 72-Year-old man might be depressed and/or suicidal. I do not know if the man was suicidal or not, but old white men commit the largest percentages of suicides. They tend to use guns to do the deed.  The police raided the house, on the authorization of the relatives. It appears to be a nice home in a nice neighborhood. Bustleton is home to many of Philadelphia's police officers and firefighters. The wellness check turned into a full-blown media circus....

Who doesn’t love groundhog day? Groundhog Day is based on the Pennsylvania Dutch superstition that if a groundhog (AKA woodchuck, rodent, garden destroyer) emerges from its burrow on February 2 and sees its shadow because the sun is shining, it will retreat to its den and winter will continue for (at least) six more weeks. Alternatively, if it’s cloudy and the little bugger doesn’t see its shadow, spring will arrive early. While studies have found no consistent correlation between groundhog shadows and the subsequent arrival of spring-like weather, faith in its predictive value persists, just like the belief in cow...

  • #MeToo’s bad news for Burning Man’s Orgy Dome

s it possible to have a carefully regulated, politically correct orgy? The experiment has been going on for some time at the annual Burning Man festival in the Nevada desert, and by this summer, the answer seems to be . . . no. The festival’s venerable Orgy Dome — once a symbol of all that was Burning Man: decadent, foolhardy, almost Caligulan — has slid into obsolescence, a victim of societal trends like the litigation explosion, sexual correctness and the #MeToo movement. Consider the account of a Reddit user who recently visited the Orgy Dome. He said that after he had been...

RALEIGH, N.C. - Today, Senator Thom Tillis (R-NC), a member of the Senate Banking Committee, issued the following statement after the former Fed monetary Vice Chairman Bill Dudley proposed that the Fed meddle in the presidential election to defeat President Trump: I am very disappointed that former Fed monetary Vice Chairman Bill Dudley is lobbying the Fed to use its authority as a political weapon against President Trump. The President is standing up for America against China after 30 years of our country and our workers being ripped off and there is now an effort to get the Fed to...
  • Is a tariff always a 'tax'? [No, consumers DO OT pay the tariff always]

The correct answer in economics begins with "It depends ..." Do U.S. consumers pay tariffs on products imported into the United States? Free traders repeat that a tariff is a tax and that consumers always pay it. Your child or grandchild will fail his Economics 101 mid-term without an understanding of the elasticity of demand and the elasticity of supply. The demand curve for a particular product can be elastic or inelastic. That is, demand can be sensitive to price or insensitive to price. You have heard of the supply and demand curves. But those curves are different for different...

Somebody once made a movie "Suppose they gave a war and nobody came?" There is a very common misperception about war. The beginning of a war is generally marked by an attack, invasion or other aggressive move by a country. But a war can’t start until the aggressor meets resistance. A brawl is usually begun by someone throwing a punch. But unless the person getting punched puts up some resistance it’s not a fight, it’s just somebody taking a beating. The Twentieth Century was known for big wars. But when Germany invaded Austria in 1938 and Czechoslovakia in 1939 we...

Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., told an audience in South Carolina Friday that he is working on legislation that would "eliminate medical debt in this country." Sanders made the remark during a question-and-answer period following a town hall meeting in Florence on "Medicare-for-All." A female attendee explained to Sanders that she doesn't make enough money to qualify for ObamaCare and has a large amount of medical debt not covered by insurance. When the woman asked Sanders if he had a plan for that, the self-described democratic socialist told her: "In another piece of legislation that we're offering, we're...

Forcing America to install literally millions of wind turbines and tens of millions of solar panels, and plant tens of millions more acres in biofuel crops, would devastate wildlife habitats and countless species, while driving up electricity prices for families, factories, farms, businesses, schools and hospitals. The wind and sunlight may be free, clean and green. But the massive technologies required to harness those forces for human benefit certainly are not. If Trump Administration advisors thought they could appease their opponents by implementing a rule focused on the useless and ultimately dangerous goal of limiting CO2 emissions, they were sorely...

Longtime Illinois Rep. John Shimkus said Friday he would not seek reelection — becoming at least the 12th House Republican to call it quits after their current term is up. Shimkus, who was elected in 1996 to represent the 15th District in the southeastern part of the state, made the announcement in an interview Friday with KMOX radio. His announcement came after Georgia GOP Sen. Johnny Isakson said Wednesday he would retire at the end of the year as he continues battling Parkinson’s disease, setting up two elections for key Senate seats in the Peach State in 2020. Shimkus was...

There is a small slice of the American populace who, by their own admission, are exhausted. No, I do not refer to new moms caring for cranky infants or emergency room nurses working the night shift or tactical officers patrolling the ’hood or farmers plowing their soybean crops. Our bone-weary countrymen populate opinion magazines, newsrooms, editorial boards, and cable networks up and down the Acela corridor. Their fingertips, nearly stripped of all flesh from excessive tweeting, have lost agility. Heads droop over coffee-stained laptops; they can’t even muster enough energy to brush off the morning’s donut crumbs from the keyboard....

FULL TITLE: 'My money, my choice': Comedian Dave Chappelle tells audience that if women have a right to 'kill' their babies, men can 'abandon 'em' After getting what was apparently a largely pro-abortion crowd — especially the women in the audience — to cheer his recitation of pro-abortion talking points, Chappelle went for the roundhouse. Because what's fair is fair. "Ladies, to be fair to us, I also believe that if you decide to have the baby, a man should not have to pay. That is fair," he said, which received significant laughter from the men in the crowd. "If...

LITTLE FALLS - Many restaurants promise fast service. But, according to one local customer, a Herkimer County restaurant promotes speed eating, with a 30-minute time limit for dine-in customers. "In 60+ years I've never been thrown out of a public restaurant until yesterday. The local Little Falls, NY, McDonald's has a new policy to evict customers after 30 minutes. 3 of us having coffee and lunch following Sunday Mass were asked to leave the restaurant after 34 minutes. Another table of 4 women were also evicted. The dining room was essentially cleared," said Jane Malin in a public Facebook post...

LOS ANGELES (CN) – Customers and employees at a Los Angeles Trader Joe’s market say they were taken hostage last summer … —— I assumed it was a mass shooting,” Gjonbalaj said. “I wanted to send them my final goodbyes.” Atkins asked a store employee to call everyone to the front of the store and became agitated when he saw a sharpshooter, according to Gjonbalaj. “He demanded if the sharpshooter didn’t leave in five seconds, he’s going to count down from five and we were going to be dragged out in body bags,” Gjonbalaj said.
