LOS ANGELES (CN) Customers and employees at a Los Angeles Trader Joes market say they were taken hostage last summer
I assumed it was a mass shooting, Gjonbalaj said. I wanted to send them my final goodbyes.
Atkins asked a store employee to call everyone to the front of the store and became agitated when he saw a sharpshooter, according to Gjonbalaj.
He demanded if the sharpshooter didnt leave in five seconds, hes going to count down from five and we were going to be dragged out in body bags, Gjonbalaj said.

I will enjoy the verdict putting him away for life.
Justice is beginning to be served.
I am saddened you and the others went through this.
Thankfully, you were one of the fortunate, unfortunate ones.
I remember that night. How are you handling everything?
Life! Or until Newscum pardons him.
Thank you. I am well. Or, as well as I can be.
I’m just happy this person will never get out of jail ... hopefully.
Here is the perp:
He sounds like a Paranoid Schizophrenic type. Judge has to be sitting amused by this case.
He is criminally insane.
His mother was a Total junkie. So much so, that she could not care for her child. His grandmother cared for him since he was 8.
He and his grandmother got into an argument that morning, and he shot her quite a few times. She wanted him to kick his GF out of the house. After shooting the grandmother, he took his GF on a ride when the police caught up with him.. He shot out his back window while driving and shot the GF, then crashed into the Trader Joe’s just after I had checked out ...
Shots flew inside of Trader Joe’s. I hit the floor and it all began ...
He told us he was going to shoot us one by one ...then started counting down from 10 - 9 - 8 -7 -—
That must be horrible to relive that when you go to court and testify and have to hear again all about it. I hope someone in prison gives him rough justice so that his potentially being released someday will be a moot point.
Wow!
Are you expecting to be called as a witness?
Yes.
Most of us followed y. Terrifying.ou here that day, and were praying for you. You should post the link to the original thread.
This sort of thing is why I carry a gun. Not so that I can use force on people, but so that people can’t easily use force on me. I’m sorry you had to go through that, and look forward to hearing of a verdict of “guilty”.
When I first saw the headline, I thought it was about some guy who lost it when trying to shop at a Trader Joe’s- I could almost sympathize with that! Nice enough merchandise, but small, horribly crowded and poorly merchandised- always a frustrating experience for me!
Sorry to hear this. Criminally insane have been removed from state hospitals and it’s “wrong” in the eyes of SJW’s and the state to actually get a conservator-ship and place them in a safe environment behind walls. Blessing you were not killed. Tragic you had to suffer the consequences of the state and local governments doing nothing to help “normal” citizens who know how to cope/function in society. That is a scary situation. Glad you lived.
Thankfully, I think I was in shock. I should have been terrified. I passed the hours concentrating on memorizing Trader Joe’s sound track and expressing a peaceful appearing pose.
I spent most of my time lying on the floor. Most of it holding the hand of a lovely 20-something TJ employee named Hector. The rest cross legged, palms open to display they were empty.
In the end, the perp ended up deciding to release me first due to my age and infirmities. The police impounded my car in the parking lot as “evidence”. More hassle getting keys made 1:30 AM ...and proving I actually owned my recently-purchased new home.
Mayor Garcetti made sure he used the event to grandstand in front of the cameras.
I just saw your name on another thread and thought, “Wonder how BunnySlippers is recovering from her Trader Joe’s ordeal last year?” And here you are.
I very much hope you are doing well. Not something you can ever forget, but you can get through it and past it. Bless you, FRiend.
Bump for Bunny
Here it is:
