Hawaiian Airlines said in a statement tonight it was determined that “a seal failed in the aircraft’s left engine, causing oil to leak onto hot parts of the plane’s engine and air conditioning pressurization system, resulting in smoke in the cabin.” The airline said performance of the engine was not affected. Passengers on a Hawaiian Airlines flight had to evacuate the plane from emergency slides this morning after it landed in Honolulu due to reports of smoke in the cargo hold and cabin. All passengers and crew evacuated the aircraft and seven passengers were taken to hospitals with smoke inhalation...

Thursday on the campaign trail, 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-TX) described President Donald Trump’s comments about Jewish people voting for Democrats as “what you might see in the Third Reich.” O’Rourke said, “So this is additional cruelty, another attack on immigrants from a president who has attacked them from the moment he descended the escalator in the Trump Tower, declaring his candidacy for this office, warning about rapists and criminals, which is the way that he described immigrants, and trying to stoke and stir up fear and violence which we have seen perpetrated against them throughout...

A conservative watchdog group is asking the Office of Congressional Ethics on Thursday to review whether 14 Democratic lawmakers and one Republican inappropriately used their office to try to coerce a Las Vegas casino mogul into allowing his employees to unionize. In May, Wisconsin Rep. Mark Pocan and 13 other Democrats wrote a letter to Frank Fertitta III, the CEO of the Las Vegas-based casino management company Red Rock Resorts Inc., urging him to “respect the rights of employees” at the company “to form a union and collectively bargain.” Republican Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania sent Fertitta a similar letter...

“Joke” should be in quotation marks. There isn’t a shadow of a doubt that he would do that deal if it were on the table. Greenland, for one, was not on the staff’s list of priorities for the week. But while Mr. Trump has long derided nation-building, his flirtation with nation-buying turned out to be more serious than many originally thought. He has been talking privately about buying Greenland for more than a year and even detailed the National Security Council staff to study the idea. At one point last year, according to a former official who heard him, he...

Morning "The voice of weeping shall be no more heard." Isaiah 65:19 The glorified weep no more, for all outward causes of grief are gone. There are no broken friendships, nor blighted prospects in heaven. Poverty, famine, peril, persecution, and slander, are unknown there. No pain distresses, no thought of death or bereavement saddens. They weep no more, for they are perfectly sanctified. No "evil heart of unbelief" prompts them to depart from the living God; they are without fault before his throne, and are fully conformed to his image. Well may they cease to mourn who have ceased to...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem (Old Testament) 2 Kings 20 Hezekiah’s Illness 20 In those days Hezekiah became ill and was at the point of death. The prophet Isaiah son of Amoz went to him and said, “This is what the Lord says: Put your house in order, because you are going to die; you will not recover.” 2 Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, 3 “Remember, Lord, how I have walked before you faithfully and with wholehearted devotion and have done what is good in your eyes.” And Hezekiah wept bitterly. 4 Before Isaiah had...

Radio, IR and optical observations show evolution of plumes and their impact on belts and zones Storm clouds rooted deep in Jupiter's atmosphere are affecting the planet's white zones and colorful belts, creating disturbances in their flow and even changing their color. Thanks to coordinated observations of the planet in January 2017 by six ground-based optical and radio telescopes and NASA's Hubble Space Telescope, a University of California, Berkeley, astronomer and her colleagues have been able to track the effects of these storms -- visible as bright plumes above the planet's ammonia ice clouds -- on the belts in which...

Delegates to next year’s Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee will be staying as far away as an 80-minute drive south near Chicago, but none will be staying 80 minutes west in Madison. The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel on Thursday reported that 31 state delegations will stay at hotels in the Milwaukee area, while another 26 will stay in northern Illinois, including near O’Hare International Airport. Democratic Party officials declined to provide delegate housing details or explain why Madison was excluded. Madison officials say they remain positive that the July convention’s thousands of visitors will spend some time — and money —...

Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan...invoked their respective weapons of mass destruction twice, stoking alarm over the arsenals that make the question of who controls the border region of Kashmir one of the “most dangerous” controversies in the world. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi tightened his government’s control over the Indian-held portion of Kashmir, arguing that the changes would enhance security in an area simmering with terrorism threats, but Khan suggested that New Delhi is preparing a “false-flag operation” to justify a military conflict with his country. “Khan has been attempting to turn the tables on India, and characterize it as...

This is the Third Media Hoax in a Row. The first was the Russian Collusion Hoax. That Hoax went up in flames with the fiasco of the Mueller Report. The Second was the Trump Racist meme falsely started for the Charlottesville Statue comments. The third and present hoax is that we are about to have a Recession. Best to disinfect this hoax with a little definition. A recession is two quarters of Negative Growth (GDP); there hasn't even been one in a very long time. The Recession Hoax was built on the Inverted Yield of the short term vs long...

I finally “get it. I finally understand the theory of Social Justice. In Florida a recently passed constitutional amendment would restore voting rights to convicted felons who have completed their sentences. Now a political groups claims that convicted felons in Florida who would otherwise be eligible to vote under recently passed Amendment 4 are unable to do so because they are unable to afford to pay the fine and costs or restitution which was imposed as part of their felony sentence. They can’t vote because they can’t pay and that’s unfair. That violates the equal protection clause under the U.S....

Does anyone remember Everett Dirksen? Aside from Margaret Thatcher’s comment regarding socialism’s biggest flaw, Senator Dirksen is attributed with the world’s most famous quote with respect to government spending: “A million here, a million there, pretty soon, you're talking real money.” Subsequently the phrase was upgraded to “a billion here, a billion there” due to inflation. Now, in one grand gesture aimed at saying the planet, Bernie Sanders has managed to raise the expression to 21st century levels of profligate spending: Sanders releases $16 trillion ‘Green New Deal’ plan, promises it will ‘pay for itself’ – like all such programs...

Thursday on CNN’s “The Situation Room,” Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) said President Donald Trump was so aliening our allies, as evidenced by his back-and-forth with Denmark’s Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, they might not help America if we are attacked. Host Brianna Keilar asked, “I want to ask you about the G7. The president is heading to France after several days of stirring up controversy on the international stage before he even arrives. What impact will that have on the president’s ability to work with global leaders during what are really high-stakes meetings?” Swalwell said, “We need friends in the world....

In several cases this summer, there were times where you read what happened and say, they should have had a gun. Fatal bear attacks are rare. Attacks, where someone is injured, happen much more frequently. Close calls, without injury, are more common yet. Here are some cases from this summer where it seems the people involved would have been well served by the availability of a defensive firearm. It is better for everyone concerned if the attacking animal is killed by the people immediately involved. It takes the authorities time and considerable money to respond. On 26 June 2019, 54-Year-Old...

St. Louis Federal Reserve President James Bullard said Friday the central bank should continue to ease monetary policy because of the recession signal being flashed by the bond market. “The yield curve is inverted here. We’ve got one of the higher rates on the yield curve here. That’s not a good place to be,” Bullard told CNBC’s Steve Liesman. The so-called yield-curve inversion refers to the 10-year Treasury yield trading below its 2-year counterpart. This briefly happened earlier this week and last week. Experts fear a yield-curve inversion because it has historically preceded a recession.

Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) I honestly don’t know what to make of this, so I’m just going to let you watch and judge for yourselves. – Overstock founder Patrick Byrne resigned his CEO position at the company on Thursday, and shortly thereafter appeared on Fox Business’s Varney & Co. program. What he had to say about his alleged involvement in several FBI domestic espionage efforts against various political campaigns would, if true, amount to grounds for scattering the raging dumpster fire agency to the winds. Here’s the clip of the interview: The interview is too long...
