Fears that the UK could be heading for its first recession in a decade have been stoked by grim official figures showing that the economy contracted in the second quarter of 2019. Brexit uncertainty, car plant shutdowns and the running down of stock built up before the original end of March deadline for Britain’s EU exit resulted in gross domestic product shrinking by 0.2% in the three months ending in June. News from the Office for National Statistics of the first fall in quarterly GDP in six and a half years sparked immediate speculation that a further bout of Brexit...

The first trove of documents have been unsealed in the 2015 defamation case brought against Ghislaine Maxwell by Virginia Roberts. The documents were made public Friday morning just moments after the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit upheld the decision to make public over 2,000 pages of court filings that had previously been under seal. Those documents reveal in great detail the three-year period in which Roberts claims she was Jeffrey Epstein and Maxwell's sex slave. Roberts has said that in that role she was 'forced to have sex with ...numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign...

Their egos steamroll over victims and their families to get themselves in front of the media All the hate talk spewed out by Democrat politicians as the bereaved in El Paso and Dayton prepare to bury their dead couldn’t possibly tell a bigger story about how political egos take precedence over even the most traumatic human tragedies. The ‘Me-First’ attitudes of vainglorious Democrat presidential hopefuls former Congressman ‘Beto’ O’Rourke, Senators Liz Warren, Bernie Sanders et al block comfort and condolences for the survivors of the shooting massacres in El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio, which combined took some 31 lives,...

Temperatures in Houston reached 100 degrees for the first time in 2019 this week, according to data from the National Weather Service. But according to a new study, 100-degree weather could soon become a much more common forecast for Houston and cities nationwide if no action is taken to address climate change. According to a July 2019 report from the national nonprofit The Union of Concerned Scientists, cities nationwide could see more "dangerously hot" days as early as 2036. The report analyzed four different heat index thresholds - above 90°F, above 100°F, above 105°F and "off the charts" - to...

RUSH: You know, I’ve noticed something that Trump does with these press conferences, and it was hot. It was like 86 degrees when he started. He was out there 38 or 40 minutes. It was 90 degrees when he’s wrapped up and headed to the helicopter. He was sweating profusely but not nervously. Just hot out there. He had sweat dripping down the face; you could see it starting to sweat-stain the dress shirt the president was wearing. But the hair remained intact and did not become helmet hair. It didn’t get wet. The president has that down pat. But...

Mr. Martin gives us a breathless and detail-filled account of why Pope Paul VI had sought to appease the Communists ("because he was persuaded that he couldn't stop the advent of Communist parties ... [either in Europe or in Latin America] and hence his idea was, 'Let's survive by making friends'"), what the election of Albino Luciani as John Paul I meant

Is Fox News trying to get ahead of the cord-cutting curve in a desperate move to boost its ratings? New York’s commie-loving mayor Bill de Blasio has found an unlikely soapbox for his 2020 presidential run: Fox News. If you happened to nod off and woke up to see de Blasio on Sean Hannity’s show last night, , you may have imagined you were having a nightmare. But that really was de Blasio pontificating at length about his radical plans for America and it really was Sean Hannity—not just providing him leeway but even joking with him.

The other day Joaquin Castro doxxed the constituents in his district who donated to Donald Trump. It amounted to a hit list. Castro claimed that he wanted people to "think twice" about donating to Trump https://www.conservativereview.com/news/joaquin-castro-says-posted-private-citizens-info-wanted-people-think-twice-supporting-trump/"That was bullsh*t. Without any doubt he was hoping to visit at least economic harm and maybe more. And he has drawn first blood. NY TimesFor many businesses, a sudden deluge of phone calls might signal an influx of new customers. But most of the 25 calls Justin Herricks received before noon on Thursday were from people who wanted to tell him he was a...

Today, a Mexican farmers' union blockaded Ferromex tracks at Las Delicias and at Jiménez in the state of Chihuahua. Both locations are between Ciudad Juárez and Torreón. Following a tragic weekend for the country, President Trump and the first lady were snapped returning to the White House on Sunday. The pair looked somber as they disembarked Marine One after a weekend trip in Bedminster, N.J. Melania dressed in a simple sky-blue shirt tucked into cropped brown khakis cinched at the calf and a pair of olive green stilettos. The 49-year-old former model opted for a soaring style designed with a classic pointed-toe silhouette and an army green satin upper. She pulled things together by shielding her eyes behind aviator sunglasses.

An amateur astronomer in Texas captured a rare sight earlier this week when an apparent meteor slammed into Jupiter’s thick upper atmosphere. On Wednesday, amateur astronomer Ethan Chappel was on the lookout for Perseid meteors, reports ScienceAlert. But his telescope was trained on Jupiter with the camera running. Later, after feeding the data into a software program designed to detect impact flashes, Chappel was alerted to the event. Looking at the footage, Chappel saw a brief but discernible flash along the western portion of Jupiter’s Southern Equatorial Belt, or SEB. Later that day, Chappel announced his discovery in a tweet:...

OTTAWA — Canadians will continue to have access to the medications they need, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau promised Thursday in the face of escalating worry about a Trump administration decision to allow prescription drug imports from Canada. During a visit to Iqaluit, Trudeau said Health Canada already ensures there is a “steady and solid supply” of medications for Canadians regardless of external or international pressures. He did not, however, mention drug shortage challenges that already exist. “We recognize the new situation brought on by American announcements and Health Canada will continue to ensure that our priority is always ensuring that...

Never has a community with so much, done so little, for those who gave so much to the greater good and safety of our nation, by taking away what little they have for their own selfish interests Eight (8), armed LA County Deputy Sheriffs surround homeless Veteran on San Vicente Boulevard sidewalk, directly opposite of the Los Angeles VA that has nearly 400 acres of land deeded exclusively as a National Home for disabled and impoverished U.S. Military Veterans. LONDON/GENEVA - Global meat consumption must fall to curb global warming, reduce growing strains on land and water and improve food security, health and biodiversity, a United Nations report on the effects of climate change concluded. Although the report stopped short of explicitly advocating going meat free, it called for big changes to farming and eating habits to limit the impact of population growth and changing consumption patterns on stretched land and water resources. “There are certain kinds of diets that have a lower carbon footprint and put less pressure on land,” Jim Skea, professor at London’s Imperial College, said...

In 1861, the motive of the Democratic Party driving toward Civil War was sustaining the institution of slavery. Today, their driving motive is attaining political supremacy “Perdition began life as a word meaning ‘utter destruction’; that sense is now archaic, but it provides a clue about the origins of the word. “Perdition” was borrowed into English in the 14th century from Anglo-French perdiciun and ultimately derives from the Latin verb perdere, meaning ‘to destroy.’” (Source) Once the title of a Hollywood movie that takes place during the Great Depression as a mob enforcer and his son seek revenge against the...
