Mr. Martin gives us a breathless and detail-filled account of why Pope Paul VI had sought to appease the Communists ("because he was persuaded that he couldn't stop the advent of Communist parties ... XLNT, fascinating!
Excellent-quality tape and content.
Very informative to be sure. I was totally unaware just how long ago the Liberation Theology had been accepted and even adopted by the Catholic Church.
Much of the goofy theology we now see holding sway in parishes, books, among bishops, priests, seminaries, was circulating among Church inner circles long before Vatican 2. Some of it stemmed from 18th century Romanticism. The trickle down takes a while.
Due to its length, I imagine few will watch but yet, worth every minute. I did not know Malachi was so well spoken, Buckley just sat back and listened for most of the interview. Amazing.
Malachi laid it out so well. It is almost as if he was able to look into the future and see us today.
I guess WFB was before Sean Hannity's time.
Man, ain’t that the truth! One of the most interesting things Mr Martin said was that the Vatican would tolerate almost any behavior from the Communists and Left Wing of the Church but would not tolerate any “dissent” from the traditional wing of the Church. Just like today only it has gotten worse. No mercy for conservative, traditionalists. Total tolerance for left wing, progressive causes. Old man scat seems to be in charge now. Keep on fightin’ all!
