Three top U.S. airline CEOs are urging President Trump to take action over Qatar’s violating trade agreements with the US. Three 'other' CEOs responded with a letter claiming that Qatar’s actions are consistent with the president’s policy, BUT analysis shows that 'this letter was actually written by a senior policy official from the Obama administration'... it appears there may still be trouble with Qatar. And someone from the Obama administration has been implicated, apparently 'operating behind the scenes'.. The metadata shows the letter sent by FedEx, JetBlue, and Atlas Air 'was actually written by 'Jenny Rosenberg' Rosenberg is a lobbyist....

RIYADH — The Joint Forces Command of the Coalition to Restore Legitimacy in Yemen carried out several air strikes on Houthi targets in the Yemeni capital Sanaa on Thursday after the Iranian-aligned militants claimed responsibility for drone attacks on Saudi oil installations. A coalition statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency said the air strikes were against a number of legitimate military targets, which military intelligence confirmed were military bases and facilities used by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias for weapons and ammunition storage. "The air operations achieved their objectives," statement added. The coalition stressed that the attacks by the Iranian-backed...

America’s new academic standards are failing our students. Despite what official transcripts say, I’m concerned many graduates did not earn their diploma. As a seasoned high school teacher and college professor pondering my 14th graduation ceremony, I couldn’t help wondering how many students around the country will graduate with a high school or college degree, but not an education. It’s no secret we have a terrible illiteracy problem. But what I address here goes beyond illiteracy and marches smack through the front door of an academic house of cards. Inside, my colleagues and I share deep concerns about failing students...

A former top FBI lawyer said there was concern at the bureau that then-FBI Director James Comey was trying to blackmail then-President-elect Donald Trump with the notorious Steele dossier. On Tuesday’s Yahoo News podcast “Skullduggery,” James Baker described the atmosphere as “quite worried” after Comey met with Trump on Jan. 6, 2017, shortly before his inauguration. Baker says the way Comey threw the dossier into Trump’s face, it was difficult not to draw “analogies” to the behavior of FBI founding Director J. Edgar Hoover, who ruled federal law enforcement for nearly 50 years.

Immigration, both legal and illegal, remains a hot debate topic as we move into the 2020 election season. One subject falling under that umbrella is the concept of anchor babies, i.e. children born in the United States to parents who are in the country illegally. Under the legal principle of jus soli (law of the soil), such children are determined to be citizens, often offering a foothold for the parents to remain in the country as well. But is that a popular position for Democrats to run on?Probably not as popular as you might think, despite the positive coverage such...

For decades, abortion has been an ideal issue for Republicans. It let them appease their base, bring millions of Catholic and evangelical voters permanently into the fold, and portray Democrats as extremists — all without much political downside. But their success may very well carry the seeds of their ultimate defeat. The right to abortion has enjoyed solid constitutional protection since the Supreme Court made it legal throughout the land in 1973 with its decision in Roe v. Wade, a decision it has repeatedly affirmed. An entire “pro-life” movement grew up in reaction. Congress and state legislatures have tried to...

The University of Colorado, Colorado Springs (UCCS) has settled a lawsuit with a Christian student group which forces the university to recognize the group as an official student organization. Breitbart News reported in February that a Christian student group at UCCS had filed a lawsuit against their university over its refusal to recognize them as an official student organization. This week, UCCS settled with the Ratio Christi student group. The original legal complaint against the university claimed that administrators told students that they could not require their group leader to be a Christian. “It has refused to do so specifically...

Missouri's Senate has passed a bill that would ban abortions at eight weeks of pregnancy or later, except in cases of medical emergency. There are no exceptions for rape or incest. It's the latest in a series of sweeping abortion restrictions passed by Republican-controlled state Legislatures aimed at pushing abortion challenges to the U.S. Supreme Court. The measure, which saw a series of changes before passage, will now return to the state House. If approved there, it would head to the desk of Republican Gov. Mike Parson. "Thanks to the leaders in the House and Senate, we have the opportunity...

Video at link. (CNSNews.com) - Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), one of 22 Democrats seeking her party's presidential nomination, told MSNBC on Wednesday that Alabama's new abortion ban is "draconian and inhumane," and she called for "action" against Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch if they do not uphold Roe v. Wade. Both men are Trump appointees. Gillibrand said President Trump has deliberately selected "radical justices" to "undermine basic reproductive freedoms and civil rights" of women. "And I'm going to lift this up, and as President of the United States, I will not appoint any justice that does not...

Conservative televangelist Pat Robertson says Alabama has “gone too far” by passing a bill that would make performing an abortion a felony in nearly all cases.

Robertson is a longtime abortion opponent, but on Wednesday, as he hosted "The 700 Club" on the Christian Broadcasting Network, he called the bill "extreme" and noted that it does not have exceptions for rape or incest.

Some of our European allies aren’t acting very much like allies these days. The latest example of this phenomenon comes to us from Germany, where Chancellor Angela Merkel has basically put aside all pretenses of diplomacy and is now insulting us to our faces. In remarks to the German press this week, she spoke of the “adversaries†Europe must contend with, both militarily and in terms of trade agreements, and listed three examples. China, Russia and… the United States. (Newsweek) German Chancellor Angela Merkel lumped in the United States with Europe’s other global adversaries on Wednesday, arguing that the countries...

I can feel the troops getting edgy. The battle looks grim. For the time being we have cover in the trenches, but the enemy's horde is closing in and we're low on ammo, bloodied, and wounded. And, it would seem, outmatched and outgunned. But that's only as it seems. The Apostle Paul had to deal with a similarly weary regiment nearly two millennia ago. Many voices in their midst were sowing confusion, causing disillusionment with God's prophetic promises. That has always been the enemy's most frequent tactic: striking with subtlety from within, where attacks are least expected. This is...

Nearly 150 years after electricity came to South Africa, the country is in the dark. The blackouts can strike at any time and then lights, hot water and even major industries vanish into the darkness. Storing perishable food in the fridge has become a gamble. The meat you buy today may be inedible tomorrow if the rolling blackout arrives and lasts long enough to destroy all the food you cooked. With rolling blackouts that can last for as long as twelve hours, South Africans have grown used to eating by candlelight and heating water the old-fashioned way. Those who can...

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s strut into the 2020 Democratic primary is getting rebuffed by the city’s biggest police union which warned American voters that he would be an “unmitigated disaster” in the White House. “After six years of disrespect for the police officers who keep our city safe, it’s perfectly clear how the mayor treats men and women in uniform. As commander-in-chief, he would be an unmitigated disaster,” said Lynch. Lynch did not pull any punches in his statement, charging that the mayor has been absent during contract talks and has mismanaged the city. “It is laughable...

Yesterday, Donald Trump signed an executive order that bars the government from doing business from telecom companies considered national security threats. To no one’s great surprise, the Commerce Department quickly added Chinese telecom giant Huawei to its new “entity list†of banned companies. That move left European allies and trading partners in a tough position, CNN reported last night: The US claims Huawei, one of China’s most important companies, poses a spying risk to Western technology infrastructure. The latest move against the firm comes amid a worsening trade war between Beijing and Washington, after talks expected to bring a...

When an article begins with, “Just about everyone understands…†or “There can be little doubt…†you know that the author has a weak case. Investors Business Daily’s post, dated May 10th begins just like that: “Just about everyone else understands that the Trump trade war will be bad for US investors, consumers, retailers and manufacturers. The trade war will hit consumer spending and could freeze business investment in the US. It will damage American business prospects in the world's second largest economy. It will hurt global growth and pressure global financial markets. The longer this takes to sink in, the...

When the man arrived at the hospital with severe abdominal pains, a nurse didn’t consider it an emergency, noting that he was obese and had stopped taking blood pressure medicines. In reality, he was pregnant — a transgender man in labor that was about to end in a stillbirth.
