New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio’s strut into the 2020 Democratic primary is getting rebuffed by the city’s biggest police union which warned American voters that he would be an “unmitigated disaster” in the White House.
“After six years of disrespect for the police officers who keep our city safe, it’s perfectly clear how the mayor treats men and women in uniform. As commander-in-chief, he would be an unmitigated disaster,” said Lynch.
Lynch did not pull any punches in his statement, charging that the mayor has been absent during contract talks and has mismanaged the city.
“It is laughable that a mayor who has shown no interest in running New York City for six years now says he wants to mismanage the entire country,” he wrote.
The mayor’s decision to jump into the crowded Democratic field came on the day Trump spoke to police for National Police Week. Trump has the support of several police and sheriffs organizations.

Running for President allows a politician to hit up their supporters AGAIN for more dough.
People aren’t contributing to his campaign because they think he’d win (or even because they want him to win,) but because they are buying influence.
He will keep track of who gave him what, and use his office as mayor to pay them back.
He is not a good Mayor, but he’ll get reelected in NYC.
He can't run for mayor again under NYC's term limits law, so he had to concoct some other mechanism for collecting bribes contributions from the wealthy donors who own him.

On the contrary...DiBlasio running and being stomped into oblivion would be the quickest garbage disposal in the city’s history - no unions required.

Running for President has become quite a lucrative proposition. With each election there seems to be an increasing number of candidates. Most have no chance at all. But they all seem to emerge from the process with a significant improvement financially.
