Facing an overwhelming Russian assault from the air and an offensive on multiple fronts by the Syrian military and its allied foreign militia, some rebels have decided they urgently need more men — Syrian or not. As a consequence, the most powerful rebel coalition in northern Syria and an association of mostly jihadist religious scholars have both issued calls to arms not just to able-bodied Syrians, but to the entire Muslim world. On December 26, the military council of Jaysh al-Fatah, a rebel coalition whose name translates to "Army of Conquest," announced on social media a "general call to arms"...

Toronto Star reporter Daniel Dale got more than 600 retweets for beaming out this Trump quote on Saturday, although when I googled it, I came up empty. Trump acknowledging the act: "When I'm president, I'm a different person. I can be the most politically correct person you've ever seen."

On Jan. 26, 1998, President Bill Clinton denied having an affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky, telling reporters, "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

Two key members of the Oregon militia, who continue to hold the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge in Oregon, say Arizona officials took their children from their homes as an act of revenge. According to a report from the Arizona Republic, Robert "LaVoy" Finicum and Blaine Cooper say federal officials pressured local child protection officials to take custody of their children in retaliation against them for their siege on the wildlife refuge. Cooper, who posts regular updates of the siege on social media, said earlier in the month that child protection services came to his house in Humboldt, Arizona, and took...

The progressive idea of progress is to encourage Western populations to decline as they are invaded by inferior ones that breed like rabbits. This is what links Muslims and Mexicans. It’s all about the death of Western chauvinism, literally. If you take out Mexican immigration from American population stats, our population is going down. Politicians and pundits tell us we need this immigration to keep our population afloat, but we’re not being enriched with new citizens eager to assimilate. We’re being replaced. And we’re not being replaced with something better. We’re being replaced with something worse. We tried Sharia law...

The new Quinnipiac University Iowa poll released today finds that Cruz has doubled his lead over Trump among the critical Evangelical voters. Cruz now leads Trump among Iowa Evangelicals by 12 points - 39 percent to 27 percent. The Iowa Republican Caucus is a two-man race with Trump at 31 percent and Cruz at 29 percent among likely Republican Caucus participants. Marco Rubio is at 13 percent. No other candidate is above 7 percent. Cruz leads Trump: 50 - 34 percent among self-professed Tea Party members; 49 - 29 percent among voters describing themselves as "very conservative." Trump leads Cruz:...

Despite his unearned reputation for candor, there is perhaps no better performer in the 2016 presidential race than Donald Trump. Prior to his decision to seek the Republican nomination, his policy preferences were those of common to elite fixtures in New York City's refined socialite scene. The reality of Trump and the figure that has been molded and polished by his admirers in the conservative media complex are two very different people, but Trump has so far done a capable job of keeping the contempt he once showed for conservatives and the values they cherish in check. That was, until...

Washington (CNN)--Donald Trump has hit a new high in the race for the Republican nomination, according to a new CNN/ORC Poll, with more than 4-in-10 Republican voters nationwide now saying they back the billionaire. And more than two-thirds of Republicans say he's the candidate most likely to capture their party's presidential nomination. Trump has topped the 40% mark for the first time in CNN/ORC polling, standing at 41%. That more than doubles the support of his nearest competitor, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who notches 19% support in the poll. No other candidate hit double-digits. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio landed at...

When the publisher of National Review Magazine, Jack Fowler, called and asked me to write 300 words on why I oppose Donald Trump for president of the United States, my first thought was about the derision that was sure to come from Trump supporters. I was not disappointed, or rather I am disappointed that no one who reacted negatively rebutted any of the arguments I, or the other contributors, made about why we think a President Trump would not pursue conservative goals. Sounding like Trump, I was called a "loser" and someone for whom one writer said he had "lost...

A man with a brambly salt-and-pepper beard, a kippah on his head, and circular glasses balanced on his nose stood behind a podium, lecturing on the parasha, the weekly Torah reading, in a southern twang. He was not a rabbi. He wasn’t even Jewish. In front of him, an audience of about 20 sat in rows, listening attentively. Some wore head wraps and dresses suitable for a wedding, and others looked like they came in off the street. One man boasted neck tattoos and a gauge earring. I was the only Jew in the room, but everyone else was here...

I understand why people like Donald Trump because I was a big fan of his as well. I loved the fact that he's a charismatic, politically incorrect fighter and a successful businessman. I am also genuinely grateful to him for changing the debate on immigration and starting a conversation about Muslim immigration that we should have had a long time ago. I don't believe a ban on Muslim immigrants would ever pass Congress nor do I think it's practical (How would you realistically implement it?), but I do think blocking future refugees and immigrants from countries where Al-Qaeda and ISIS...

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem Character Studies From The Bible Paul (Paul's First Letter to The Corinthians) 3 Brothers and sisters, I could not address you as people who live by the Spirit but as people who are still worldly-mere infants in Christ. 2 I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 3 You are still worldly. For since there is jealousy and quarreling among you, are you not worldly? Are you not acting like mere humans? 4 For when one says, "I follow Paul,"...

Police in riot gear were called to a so-called refugee camp over the weekend after hundreds of men brawled violently over different interpretations of the Quran, resulting in five hospitalisations. The brawl in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Leimen camp in Baden-Württemberg, Germany was triggered by inter-Islamic friction between different interpretations of the faith. Pakistani Muslims at the migrant centre had discovered that a group of Muslims from Afghanistan had been drinking alcohol and accused them of being “bad Muslims†for doing so, reports the Stuttgarter Nachrichten.

That mass migration is adding enormous pressure to public services has been confirmed by German dental professionals, who have warned the teeth of many immigrants are so bad they require significant work, which will cost the tax payer billions of Euros.

As the Schengen treaty guaranteeing open internal European borders continues to crumble, Italy is gearing up for a tidal wave of as many as 400,000 immigrants “in the coming weeks,†according to Italian sources, and worse still, they will be coming to stay. Italian authorities fear that their worst nightmare is materializing before their eyes: as droves of immigrants arrive on Italy’s shores, they have no choice but to remain in Italy.

1. ..........Cruz is a fierce ideologue: He denies the existence of man-made climate change, rejects same-sex marriage, wants to abolish the Internal Revenue Service, believes the 2nd amendment guarantees everyone a right to guns, doesn’t believe in a constitutional divide between church and state, favors the death penalty, opposes international agreements, embraces a confrontational foreign policy, rejects immigration reform, demands the repeal of “every blessed word of Obamacare,†and takes a strict “originalist†view of the meaning of the Constitution.

Ted Cruz has dared to provoke the ire of one of the most ruthless and vengeful political forces on the planet, and it's not Donald Trump. The Texas senator has crossed the ethanol industry in Iowa, which is a little like getting on the wrong side of the Catholic Church in Vatican City. Cruz's core theme is fighting the "Washington cartel," which would be a lot easier if its tentacles didn't extend all the way into the state crucial to Cruz's presidential hopes. Other Republicans have refused to bow and scrape before the ethanol industry -- John McCain wouldn't do...
