It appears that the attorney who filed the so-called "birther" lawsuit "in pro se" against Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Newton B. Schwartz, Sr., has some ethical and legal issues of his own. In documents obtained from the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania court system, an attorney by the same name was "suspended on consent" from practice in 2015 by the State of Pennsylvania for "engaging in the unauthorized practice of law" in the state of Louisiana - a state where he was not licensed to practice. READ THE FULL TEXT HERE The documents also refers to Mr. Schwartz's age (at...

The government spent $936 billion last year on health programs including Medicare, Medicaid and subsidies related to the Affordable Care Act, a jump of 13 percent from 2014, according to the Congressional Budget Office. Spending on Social Security, in contrast, totaled $882 billion, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) reported.

Donald Trump is calling for Medicare to be able to negotiate with pharmaceutical companies to lower drug prices, a policy long backed by Democrats and opposed by Republicans. The Republican presidential candidate told a crowd in Farmington, N.H., Monday night that the policy would save billions of dollars, but then took a shot at pharmaceutical companies, which strongly oppose the proposal. "We don't do it. Why? Because of the drug companies," Trump said, according to The Associated Press. Democratic candidates Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, as well as President Obama, have called for the same policy of letting Medicare negotiate...

... If we’ve learned anything in the last eight years it’s that supposedly smart people can be suicidally stupid, and that idiot savants can easily rationalize sabotaging their own nations. Obama isn’t the only elite messiah who favors national suicide for past sins, though he is certainly the blindest, most self-righteous and willfully destructive one in American history. Then there is Frau Angela Merkel -- the Chancellor and Chief Guilt-Tripper of Germany. Frau Merkel shares Obama’s fantasy world, where only the Good People rule and the rest follow orders. The EU even has a slogan for it: it’s called the...

ALONG with bank runs and market crashes, oil shocks have rare power to set monsters loose. Starting with the Arab oil embargo of 1973, people have learnt that sudden surges in the price of oil cause economic havoc. Conversely, when the price slumps because of a glut, as in 1986, it has done the world a power of good. The rule of thumb is that a 10% fall in oil prices boosts growth by 0.1-0.5 percentage points. In the past 18 months the price has fallen by 75%, from $110 a barrel to below $27. Yet this time the benefits...

Former President Bill Clinton on Friday spoke at a gathering hosted by Starkey Hearing Technologies, one of a number of appearances he has made before the group over the last six years. But since his last appearance, the company has become embroiled in lawsuits, including one from the fired former president that accuses top executives of wrongdoing.

“Without an honest confrontation, there is no healing.†That’s from Birth Of A Nation director-producer-star Nate Parker today onstage at the Sundance Film Festival. In what I have to say was one of the most emotional experiences I’ve had at a movie theater, Parker world premiered what he called his seven-year “passion project.†His telling of the early 19th century slave revolt led by Nat Turner had audience members crying in their seats and jumping to their feet in a prolonged standing ovation at the film’s conclusion.

Is billionaire and Republican frontrunner Donald J. Trump a conservative, or not? Fox News’ Jesse Watters has made the best possible case that he is. “Come on, let’s talk about his conservative principles on the three core issues Donald Trump is about; immigration, national security and jobs. He is the most conservative guy out there and he is setting the agenda,†Watters said on Friday, responding to National Review‘s anti-Trump manifesto. He could have added a few others, like guns. But that’s not quite convincing enough for many conservatives. Trump’s vehemence about his views should not, and does not, obscure...

One week before the first votes of the 2016 campaign are cast, Donald Trump has solidified his standing nationally, according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll. Republicans see Trump as strongest candidate on major issues and by far the most electable in the large field of GOP hopefuls. The Republican electorate is in a sour mood as its members prepare to begin the process of picking a presidential nominee. Almost 9 in 10 say the country is seriously off on the wrong track, and more than 8 in 10 are dissatisfied with the way the federal government works, including...

A 2013 video, obtained exclusively by Fox News, raises fresh questions about how Hillary Clinton handled sensitive information at the State Department. In the video, veteran diplomat Wendy Sherman reveals that in the interest of speed, Clinton and her aides would share information that "would never be on an unclassified system" normally. The questions surround a 2013 speech in which Sherman compared the technology differences between serving at the State Department in the administrations of President Bill Clinton and President Obama. "Now we have BlackBerrys, and it has changed the way diplomacy is done," Sherman, who was undersecretary of state...

Sally Miller January 23 at 8:25am · . Please share. Consider this a warning. Trust me, no one is safe. Americans say "Fool me once...shame on you; Fool me twice...shame on me." In 1992, my life changed forever. Without warning, I was bombarded with deception from every angle. There were those intent on destroying me...who seemed like regular human beings...who acted friendly, like sincere people but were, as an FBI Agent advised "....only out to get you. Don’t trust anyone." Hilary once said "Bill will only lose this race over my dead body!" Her not so subtle reference to death...

This is the moment a girl bursts into tears from sheer excitement when she discovers she will see Donald Trump at a rally. The nine-year-old girl from Maine, called Ava, is riding in the car with her parents when they break the news to her. 'Guess what we're going to do on Monday?' Her mother says, 'We're going to see Donald Trump in person in New Hampshire.' Before her mother has finished her sentence the little girl's mouth is wide open and she slaps her hands down on her legs in excitement: 'Are you serious?' she yells. When her mom...

January 26, 2016 - One of the distinguishing values embraced by us New Yorkers is the pleasure we take in disparaging the fine Americans who do not live within fifty miles of salt water. Click here to enjoy a garden-variety example of an arrogant New Yorker indulging his snobby elitism to dump on flyover country. And yet, consider how New Yorkers squeal when the flownovers push back at them. Note the rage that has been directed at Ted Cruz for taking up the other side of Trump's elitism - how dare that Ted Cruz! Today's Wall Street Journal published a...

Despite those protestations, Ryan has spent his first couple months as Speaker aggressively courting some of the same Freedom Caucus conservatives who forced his predecessor, John Boehner, out of office last fall. The Wisconsin Republican ensured that conservative rebel Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kansas), ostracized for years by Boehner and his allies, won a subcommittee gavel and a coveted spot on the powerful Speaker-aligned panel that picks committee chairmen. He's invited Freedom members to weekly dinners he hosts in the Capitol. And Ryan has made Freedom Caucus Chairman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a frequent thorn in Boehner's side, a key member of...

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush and his super PAC, Right to Rise, have spent $58.8 million on the 2016 campaign, a recent analysis found. That's almost $2 million more than the combined total of the next three biggest spenders (and their super PACs and outside supporters): Marco Rubio ($32.6 million), Hillary Clinton ($12.8 million), and Bernie Sanders ($11.6 million). And what has this gotten the Bush campaign? Unfortunately for Mr. Bush, not all that much.

I understand why people like Donald Trump because I was a big fan of his as well. I loved the fact that he's a charismatic, politically incorrect fighter and a successful businessman. I am also genuinely grateful to him for changing the debate on immigration and starting a conversation about Muslim immigration that we should have had a long time ago. I don't believe a ban on Muslim immigrants would ever pass Congress nor do I think it's practical (How would you realistically implement it?), but I do think blocking future refugees and immigrants from countries where Al-Qaeda and ISIS...

Wisconsin's presidential primary isn't until April, but Republicans in La Crosse County are showing their support for their favorite candidates early. -snip- Senator Ted Cruz topped the poll, getting support from 28% of county Republicans. Senator Marco Rubio and Donald Trump tied for second with 24% of the vote. Jeb Bush, Ben Carson, Senator Rand Paul and Carly Fiorina also received votes in the poll. One week from the Iowa caucuses, county chair Bill Feehan says their results are in line with what they're seeing in that state. He says there's a reason Cruz's campaign seems to be gaining momentum....

A Wauwatosa man is under federal investigation for selling guns without a proper license, buying more than 500 firearms from an outdoors store and then selling them through a website or at gun shows, according to newly unsealed court documents. The guns, primarily used firearms, were purchased from 13 Gander Mountain stores across Wisconsin and sold through the website Gunbroker, according to a search warrant unsealed in federal court in Milwaukee last week. The suspect, who is 60, recruited Gander Mountain employees to watch for used firearms and call him when they came into the store, according to the affidavit....
