Good afternoon Gardeners! We have the most beautiful day so far this week. Temps in 60s and beautiful sun shine and blue sky. Truly a gift from God. I just wanted to mention to those who may have missed JRandomFreeper's post yesterday, that he has started his Chemo Therapy today, and needs your prayers. Thank you all in advance for helping with this request. Not much has changed here. I have been taking the tomatoes in and out. Yesterday, I forgot and left them outside, but they seem to be ok. Hubby plans to plant corn this weekend. I'll wait...

A former crony of New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie pleaded guilty Friday in the “Bridgegate” scandal — and is willing to testify that the fading GOP star knew about crippling lane closures as they were happening, his lawyer said afterward. David Wildstein, who scored a $150,000-a-year Port Authority job through his Christie connections, entered into a cooperation deal with prosecutors and admitted scheming to snarl traffic near the George Washington Bridge as part of a political payback scheme. Two other ex-officials with ties to Christie were also indicted on charges they plotted with Wildstein to take revenge against Democratic Mayor...

The number of missing people after Nepal's deadly earthquake is likely in the thousands, with the tally for Canadians who have yet to make contact with home remaining a mystery. ... The Foreign Affairs Department said in an email Thursday that search and rescue efforts are continuing, and it's "too early to make a determination on how many Canadians are missing in Nepal." ... The confirmed death toll from last Saturday's disaster has risen to 6,260, with 14,357 injured, according to the Nepalese government. There is no number for the missing, but bodies are still being pulled from the debris...

SIERRA VISTA — At the local level, seasonal winds and high temperatures are always cause for concern when it comes to the potential for an active fire season. “We received a lot of rainfall during the monsoon last year, and we had a lot of moisture during the winter, but the problem that always exists here is that it gets hot, it gets windy and it dries out,” said Fry Fire Chief Bill Miller. The only thing that would calm concerns would be unseasonably early rains in the late spring and early summer timeframe, which could reduce the threat from...

According to reports, President Obama’s Kenyan family has now completely “disowned him.” The much-chronicled “complicated” relationship between Obama and his Kenyan family has reportedly utterly collapsed in the last few years, the family accusing him of turning a blind eye to them and only touting his Kenyan heritage for “political expediency.” ... The relationship really melted down last year when Obama allegedly stonewalled the family over the funeral of Obama’s aunt Zaituni, which the president skipped in order to play another round of golf.

BALTIMORE – The highest-ranking Baltimore police officer in the arrest that led to Freddie Gray's death was hospitalized in April 2012 over mental health concerns for an unknown duration and had his guns confiscated by local sheriff's deputies, according to records from the sheriff's office and court obtained by The Associated Press.

It was surreal. Fox News reporter Leland Vittert was trying to get answers from Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and she was being shielded by race hustler Al Sharpton. Rawlings-Blake has been considered to be a rising political star in the democrat party. Then as Baltimore spiraled out of control, Rawlings-Blake found herself way over her head and she was unwilling to take the heat. As Rawlings-Blake headed for a speaking engagement for Sharpton's National Action Network , Sharpton promised that Rawlings-Blake would answer all Vittert's questions, but Rawlings-Blake ducked out the back door and dodged all questions. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=287VGwjcmPoRawlings-Blake also...

The search continued for several suspects who shot and killed two men and wounded two others in a gun battle six miles east of Gila Bend. The shootings occurred a high-traffic corridor known for human and drug smuggling. The bodies of the two men were found by Maricopa County sheriff's investigators in a cave about six miles east of Gila Bend Monday afternoon. Two other men who were seriously hurt were airlifted to the West Valley Hospital in Goodyear. “We're hoping one will be able to talk and give us more information,” Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio said at a...

A 16-year Republican veteran of the Legislature wrote Gov. Greg Abbott saying he is appalled that the governor has given credence to a fringe group that fears the U.S. military would stage a take-over of Texas. Abbott has ordered the Texas state Guard to monitor a large-scale, eight-week military exercise this summer of special operation forces. Social media has pushed the conspiracy notion that the exercise, called Jade Helm 15, is a ruse to confiscate guns and declare martial law in hostile states. After citizens raised concerns, Abbott said the state Guard will keep tabs on the operation to ensure...

For the second time in five years, Sergey Aleynikov was convicted on charges of stealing confidential computer trading code from his former employer, Goldman Sachs. The first time it took a federal jury just hours to convict; this time it came after more than a week of deliberation and an accusation of “food poisoning” and avocado tampering in a state court jury room. A jury on Friday convicted Mr. Aleynikov on one of the counts he faced but found him not guilty on another. They deadlocked on a third count against Mr. Aleynikov, who smiled nervously after the decision was...

Noncitizens are registering to vote and at best, it seems the federal government’s officials don’t care about this illegal activity. At worst, it raises questions about whether some in Washington support illegal voting, so long as it supports their political agenda. The exact number of noncitizens who are voting in our elections is difficult to quantify because of the bureaucratic quagmire perpetuated by federal agencies against the (very few) states that have the resolve to attempt to verify citizenship.

April 30, 2015 (HotAir.com) -- On Tuesday, the Supreme Court heard what could be the defining case on whether marriage in America is legally restructured from a relationship between people of the opposite sex with an eye towards procreation to an “anything goes†system. The media has responded as expected, with articles and reports brimming with support for changing marriage. Therefore, it is important to explicitly spell out a few realities of marriage and same-sex relationships. Most importantly, marriage is between a man and a woman — no matter how much some wish it weren’t so. As Chief Justice John Roberts pointed out yesterday, this...

Marco Rubio’s longtime friend and 2010 Senate campaign manager is about to be hired as a Hispanic-outreach adviser for the senator’s likely Republican 2016 rival, Jeb Bush, sources familiar with the decision tell POLITICO. Jose Mallea’s hiring by Bush’s Right to Rise political committee is a one-two punch for the former governor: It underscores the depth of loyalty Florida Republicans have for Bush and it shows his intense interest in turning out the Latino vote.

EASTON – For the last seven years, John Sharpe has been able to light and smoke cigarettes inside his Parker Terrace apartment. On June 1, that will end, as the Easton Housing Authority commissioners voted recently to institute a smoking ban inside housing units and common areas at all of the authority’s properties. Sharpe, 67, has smoked for about 30 years. “Seven years I’ve lived here and been able to smoke, now all of a sudden, boom, it’s cut like that,” he told The Enterprise on Thursday inside the community room at the Parker Terrace property. “I should be able...

That's why I say it's a mistake -- and it's being demonstrated more and more than ever before now -- it's a mistake to go on Drive-By Media as a conservative to try to get them to understand. They don't want to understand. They don't think they're wrong. There's nothing a Republican presidential candidate could say to George Stephanopoulos or Charlie Rose or any of them to make them change their mind. Nothing. It isn't gonna happen. That's not why they invite them there. They don't invite Republicans on these shows 'cause they really care what they think. They invite...
