SIERRA VISTA — They have served their nation. Some in heated battles. Others during times of cool tensions. As individuals, they may have been drafted — a concept foreign to today’s generation — or enlisted. For many, their service may have been for a few years. Yet for others, it was a decades-long career. Be they soldiers, Marines, sailors, airmen or Coast Guardsmen they have special benefits, although many do not know what they are and how to apply for them But on an upcoming important day — Veterans Day — celebrated most years in Sierra Vista on Nov. 11,...

At long last, the conservative movement is taking a long, hard look at itself. Meanwhile, Barack Obama and his fellow ideologues barrel full steam ahead in their quest to “fundamentally transform” the country. The time is now to read to Ilana Mercer’s, Into the Cannibal’s Pot: Lessons for America from Post-Apartheid South Africa. Mercer, the daughter of a rabbi and former anti-apartheid activist, was raised, first in Israel, and then South Africa. Though this classical liberal and self-professed “paleo-libertarian” has never been any sort of friend to either apartheid or any other racially-based institutional arrangement, Mercer is at great...

A trilateral meeting between US Secretary of State John Kerry, EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Jazad Zarif was underway Saturday evening in Geneva on the contents of a draft agreement on Iran’s nuclear program. A senior member of the Iranian negotiations team told reporters Saturday that a draft agreement has been prepared and would be considered by all sides during the meeting. “The text of the draft agreement has been prepared and initial negotiations [over it] will take place in a trilateral meeting among Zarif, Kerry and Ashton,” Majid Takht Ravanchi was quoted as...

After 19-year-old Tyler Comstock quarreled with his father and drove off in his truck, the elder Comstock decided to teach him a lesson by reporting the truck to the police as stolen. Soon after, cops chased down Tyler and shot him to death — despite receiving orders from dispatch to cease their pursuit. On Monday, an argument broke out between Tyler and his father, James Comstock, who refused to buy his son a pack of cigarettes. Tyler stormed off and left in his father’s truck, which is owned by a lawn care company. Cops pursued Tyler to the nearby Iowa...

During the so-called Arab Spring, Barack Obama supported Mohamed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood’s choice to become Egypt’s president. The fact that he didn’t really win the election made no difference. Morsi immediately attempted to turn the former pro-American nation into a Sharia compliant wasteland. His power play moves to subjugate the military and courts, to rewrite the constitution and make himself the supreme leader of Egypt did not sit well with the Egyptian people. Morsi did very little to improve the lives of the people of Egypt but hey, Obama liked the guy; a typical case of a leftist Democrat...

You know the commandments: No not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not give false testimony, honor your father and mother,… Luke 18:20 Richard Nixon was forced to resign for lying about a cover-up. If that is the standard for a President lying to the people, then President Obama needs to resign for such a despicable lie as telling people their lives are not going to change when they are going to be turned upside down both financially and emotionally. Why in the world does a large portion of America have to have their perfectly fine health...

Georgia Democrats have staked their hopes for political revival on a That 70’s Show charade. Jason Carter, state senator and grandson of the state’s lone White House occupant, joins Senate hopeful Michelle Nunn this week atop the 2014 slate, launching a bid for governor onlookers long predicted would come years down the road. The last time members of each family occupied a statewide office was 1975. From both a political standpoint, Carter’s opting into the race could perhaps amount to the most ill-advised in recent memory. Despite facing two primary competitors, Republican Governor Nathan Deal has maintained relatively stable approval...

In his interview with NBC News on Thursday, President Obama tried to offer an apology for those who are losing their health care plans because of the Affordable Care Act, as well as do damage control. He failed at both.... .....When you apologize late, it makes people think that you don't really mean it and you've been forced into it as a last resort. You know who knows how to do it right? Barack Obama. In 2009, when former Sen. Tom Daschle was up for an administration post and had to withdraw, Obama ate the frog right away. "I think...

Ibrahim: Islam Unveiled Exclusive: Obama Accused of ‘Crimes Against Humanity’ According to Egyptian newspaper El Watan, a group of Egyptian lawyers has submitted a complaint charging U.S. president Barrack Hussein Obama with crimes against humanity at the International Criminal Court. The complaint charges Obama of being an accessory to the Muslim Brotherhood, which incited widespread violence in Egypt both before and after the June 30 Revolution. Along with Obama, the complaint reproduced by El Watan mentions several Brotherhood members by name, beginning with the leader of the organization Muhammad Badie, and other top ranking leaders such as Mohamed al-Beltagy, Essam...

As soon as Dorisbell Pena received a text message informing her that President Nicolas Maduro seized control of a nationwide chain of appliance stores Friday, she rushed to the nearest outlet in the hopes of finding what's become one of the scarcest items of all these days in Venezuela: a bargain. A 34-year-old teacher, Pena has watched as the price of a new stove she needs has doubled in recent weeks to 40,000 bolivars even as her 2,500 bolivar-a-month salary stays the same. "I've got to take advantage of this opportunity today because tomorrow the prices keep going up," Pena...

Ben Sasse is doing what few Republicans have been able to accomplish: He's uniting the GOP establishment with anti-establishment conservatives in his bid to become the next U.S. senator from Nebraska. The broad coalition Sasse is building is something the Nebraskan is proud of -- and it's an element of his campaign he's been actively pursuing. "We're building a broad conservative coalition of Nebraskans who want to fix Washington," says Sasse in an email. "We're grateful that all types of folks across Nebraska are responding to our conservative, solutions-oriented message. This week, for instance, we've sought the support of gun...

Israel accuses US of deceit on nuclear deal with Iran. Geneva signing drags out as Iran ups its price The interim nuclear accord negotiated directly between Washington and Tehran was already secretly in the bag before the two-day talks between Iran and the Six World powers took place in Geneva Thursday and Friday. The plan was for a ceremonial signing to take place Friday, Nov. 8, after US Secretary of State John Kerry flew in from Jerusalem and the Iranian Foreign Minister confirmed “the general outline of an agreement.” Half a dozen foreign ministers from across the globe flew into...

Pakistan-Pakistani Taliban: The Pakistani Taliban rejected peace talks with the government on Thursday after electing hardline militant Mullah Fazlullah as their new leader. Earlier this month militant sources said that the consultative Shura council of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) chose Khan Said Mehsud known as Sajna as the new leader. But the election of Sajna, who leads the Pakistani Taliban in South Waziristan, reportedly was opposed by Taliban's other groups. Fazlullah was reported to have strongly objected to the choice of Sajna. Shahidullah Shahid, the main spokesman for the TTP said talks with the government were a "waste of time"...

"If you like your health-care plan, you will be able to keep your health-care plan. Period.” How serious was this lie, repeated by Barack Obama with such beguiling regularity? Well, how would the Justice Department be dealing with it if it had been uttered by, say, the president of an insurance company rather than the president of the United States?"

Last night on Fox News' "Special Report" and CNN's "The Lead with Jake Tapper," video aired of President Obama admitting that due to ObamaCare, "8 to 9 million people … might have to change their coverage." The key words there are "have to." The setting is the February of 2010 health care summit with Republicans. Minority Whip Eric Cantor is addressing the president directly on the issue of people losing their insurance due to the Affordable Care Act:

If you are inclined to believe Barack Obama's claim that people losing their insurance are giving up skimpy coverage for much better benefits, read the editorial in Monday's Wall Street Journal. Then read it again, and again, and again. Edie Sunby has a rare form of cancer that is almost always fatal. Yet she is alive, thanks to the efforts of doctors in San Diego, at Stanford University and in Texas. Over the past year, UnitedHealthcare has spent $1.2 million on her medical expenses. But she has just been informed that her insurance is being cancelled. Worse, in the new...

October Unemployment Manipulation- By: Larry Walker II -The big story out of the October household survey was the decline by 720,000 in the headline labor force, which largely reflected the loss of longer-term unemployed into the broader U-6 unemployment measure. In fact, since January 2009, the U.S. Labor Force has only grown by 607,000. Yet, over the same period, 11,034,000 persons have been removed from the labor force (see chart above). Once removed, such are neither counted as employed nor unemployed, each amounting to the equivalent of zero-fifths of a person in terms of modern governmental accounting. In Manipulation 101: The...
