Is the term actually still “christening” or has the regime replaced it with “islamicising” or “atheising”??
What? They didn’t name it the Matthew Shepherd?
“Transgender Outreach”
Sadly, maybe “homosizing”? On the other hand, as a sailor I’ve been honored to attend a couple of commissioning ceremonies and each one sure brought a tear to my eyes. “Bring the ship to life” command over the M1C was awesome to observe.
You scratched my anchor !!!
btt
“God bless all who sail in her!”
Should have named her the “Constitution”. It would at least be a substantial tribute to something that is disappearing. I know that the “Constitution” is still a commissioned vessel.
We don’t have a “United States” commissioned now do we? How about “America”?
“Gerald R. Ford” it is. Fair sailing to her and her crews. May she always be prepared and never need to launch planes in anger.
The Navy has indicated that starting with CVN-80 they will return to the practice of using traditional carrier names. But we’ll see ...
That would be nice. I’ll be standing by to see if we can build CVN-80 and we last long enough to do it.
As of this day, I’m having my doubts and thus the reason I’m watching the launching of this one.
Dick Cheney looking dapper in a Cowboy hat and giving a stirring speech.
I didn’t realize Rumsfeld is a Naval Aviator. No wonder he is so decisive.
These guys are passing fast. Maybe there are new heroes left to replace them.
Don’t worry. The Murtha is just down the line.
Tough old bastard. I’ve always liked him and would never want to be his enemy. He takes no prisoners and draws no punches. I like how plain spoken he is and how brief he is in doing it. Not much ambiguity is there?
I think Cheney has a better sense of humor than many people realize, or credit him with, anyway. This no doubt served him well while spending so many years in D.C. and his preferable to lashing out in violence against his detractors/opponents. Well, perhaps...and yes, brevity is golden.
Dry humor and yes, it probably helped him to be less fearsome.
