Thanks to the folks over at National Review for spilling the beans on this travesty. In a piece titled Racial Voyeurism we learn that our famously post racial President just can't move beyond matters of race. Even though most Americans don't care about race, our current government can only be described as "obsessed" with it. The latest fiasco is the Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) which requires lenders to identify the race of the applicant even if the applicant refuses to provide the information. The handbook for the HAMP program specifically states; “If a borrower declines to provide GMD, the...

County employees across Texas are part of a retirement plan that would be the envy of most taxpayers, and Collin County Judge Keith Self wants to dial it back. The Texas County and District Retirement System allows counties to match employees' contributions up to 250 percent, and it guarantees their accounts will grow by 7 percent every year.Self says the system is too onerous for governments and too generous, and needs to be adjusted. "Our citizens do not get anything close to this," he said. "They don't get anywhere close to a two-and-a-half-to-one match. They don't get guaranteed interest." Self...

Authorities are looking for two men following a grenade attack on the Mexican Attorney General's (PGR) Office in Matamoros. The attack happened at he PGR building at the corner of Calle Sexta and Calle Iturbide around 3:30 p.m. Monday. Nobody was injured in the attack but three cars outside the building were damaged. Like any other conservative running in 2010, Christine O'Donnell hopes that a November 2 victory signals the end of a damaging era in American Politics. For Christine; however, there is an added weight to the occasion. . .she would be the winner of an open race that could throw the Democrat's plans for a lame-duck counteroffensive into a tailspin. Christine is running for Vice President Joe Biden's open Senate seat in Delaware. Because Biden has vacated his term, her reign as Republican Senator would begin immediately on November 3 and the Senate make-up now at 59 Democrats, generally filibuster proof,...

Right now, we are in the middle of deflation. The Global Depression we are experiencing has squeezed both aggregate demand levels and aggregate asset prices as never before. Since the credit crunch of September 2008, the U.S. and world economies have been slowly circling the deflationary drain. To counter this, the U.S. government has been running massive deficits, as it seeks to prop up aggregate demand levels by way of fiscal “stimulus” spending—the classic Keynesian move, the same old prescription since donkey’s ears. But the stimulus, apart from being slow and inefficient, has simply not been enough to offset the...

Tuesday's GOP Senate primary in New Hampshire will pit two Tea Party icons against each other: Sarah Palin and Jim DeMint. The former Alaska governor is backing former state Attorney General Kelly Ayotte, who has solid Tea Party support, while the South Carolina senator has just endorsed Ovide Lamontagne, a lawyer with strong connections to state conservatives. Palin and DeMint have played key roles in multiple primaries so far, their endorsements often accompanying insurgent victories over Republican incumbents or establishment picks. Palin's backing helped Joe Miller eke out a win over Lisa Murkowski in Alaska, DeMint's endorsement nudged Ken Buck...

If union bosses and a few industrial titans have their way, a hearing in a Washington, D.C. bureaucratic back room this week will lead to higher prices on ordinary daily goods for virtually every consumer in America. On September 16, the Department of Commerce International Trade Commission will hold a hearing to decide if foreign paper is simply too cheap. And by that the government means to decide whether foreign suppliers of some pulp and paper products have “dumped” their products, which means they sell them at unfairly low prices. That the hearing is taking place is something of a...

President Barack Obama resubmitted his pick to run the Medicare and Medicaid programs to the Senate on Monday, two months after bypassing the body with a recess appointment. In July Obama appointed health expert Donald Berwick to run the programs that provide healthcare to seniors and the poor after his Senate confirmation was held up by Republicans, who expressed worries that he would ration healthcare as a way to reduce costs. The president has the power to fill top federal vacancies that would normally require Senate approval while the body is in recess.

Let’s cut to the chase. How many jobs are created by poor people? Barack Obama wants to take money away from “rich” people, mostly small business owners – the people who create most of the jobs in the economy – despite the fact that doing so means that they will not hire the unemployed. Some say that they are not sure if he understands this or not. Some people believe that he is using the Cloward-Pivin strategy to drive the political system to the brink by making the poor and unemployed class so large as to destroy the free enterprise...

I am a 912'er, long-time FReeper, and first-time candidate, running for JUSTICE...of the Peace (Pct. 5), against a 28-year-incumbent-Democrat, in the most liberal part of Tarrant County, TX (the 2nd most conservative county in the U.S.). We each ran unopposed in our respective Primaries, but I actually got 361 more votes in the Republican Primary than he did in his Democrat Primary. I need all the Freeper help I can get, e.g. calling, donations, etc. If you live in Tarrant County, putting up signs and putting on a bumper sticker would also help A LOT! But you can HELP, even...

Tito (The Builder) Munoz, who stumped with John McCain & Sarah Palin during the 2008 campaign, pumped up the crowd at the 2010 9/12 March On Washington DC. "Mr. Obama, you are trying to destroy our liberty and our Constitution.....But we the American people will never surrender to you or anyone. We only get on our knees when we pray to God!"

An update on Linda T, diagnosed with stage 4 cancer of the lung/bone (they're still not sure which was the original site) - anyway she has gone through all 10 radiation treatments, and is slated to begin chemo (taxol/carboplatin) later this month. Thanks for your prayers - she has really appreciated them! (PS - when I originally posted this, I mentioned that she was in her late 50's - apparently I was mistaken! She's in her *mid* 50's! I got some 'what-for' for that one !!) :) I also thought I'd add the link to the website her family is...

ATHENS, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Greece faces new fuel shortages as freight truck owners started a new nationwide protest Monday against a government plan to open up the closed market as part of the reform efforts to pull the country out of the credit crisis. When truckers staged the last protest that lasted for a week in July, the country suffered from a fuel crisis as a result, with gas stations running out of petrol in a major blow to local entrepreneurs and the Greek tourism industry. Factories which could not run without fuel closed and tourists were stranded in...

Ohio, the GOP’s most pivotal swing state in 2004, is proving once again to be fertile ground for Republicans in 2010. Despite the attention the current administration is lavishing on Ohio – President Obama has visited the state nearly a dozen times since taking office – Buckeye State Democrats are losing ground, and time is running out. Just last week, the Columbus Dispatch reported that “Republican candidates have grabbed double-digit leads in the races for governor (John Kasich) and the U.S. Senate (Rob Portman), and the swelling red tide could lead to a GOP sweep of statewide offices,” according to...

Via YouTube: Ann Coulter appeared on the Opie and Anthony radio show on 8/19/10, looking relaxed with hair a bit frizzy. As they discussed Keith Olbermann's "mosque thing", Ann exclaims "The special comment.....I set the Tivo for that one!" After it was posted on YouTube, at some point the comments were disabled "on an issue where everyone has a lot to say". She also likens the design of the mosque at Ground Zero to that of a "pompous douchebag trap!" Me thinks Ann has nailed it again!(F-bomb warning) Comments by Dittos Rush!

It’s election season, you’re an administration that’s down on its luck, and it seems like the House of Representatives, currently controlled by your party, will be handed over to the opposition next January. You need some way to prevent that or, at the very least, limit the damage. How best to accomplish this goal? Attack the opposition party’s members, of course! The more high profile the better, so you should pick Minority Leader John Boehner. Now you will need to create a hit article. This is a fairly simple thing to do, at least if you’re a Democrat. In fact,...

White House senior adviser Valerie Jarrett on Monday downplayed her interest in becoming White House chief of staff. "I don't want to change jobs, I love my job," she said on ABC's "The View." Jarrett is a close personal friend of President Obama and serves as an assistant to the president for public engagement and intergovernmental affairs. She's one of a handful of White House insiders whom some consider to be the closest advisers to Obama. Jarrett has been seen as a possible successor to White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel should he resign to run for mayor of...
