"It is amazes me that white Americans are incapable of acknowledging what is before our faces."

When I see the elitists on the left hold themselves up as being smarter than everyone they survey I am always offended. My American can-do spirit is assaulted by such an elitist opinion. It disgusts me when leftists assume that Americans are stupid. I refuse to accept such an assessment. But then there are stories like this… Apparently when the House of Representatives voted to admonish Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.), now famous for calling out that Obama was a liar during his recent healthcare speech, Americans all across the country rushed to their computers and did some research. Were they...

Eric N. Gioia, a city councilman from Queens and a candidate for public advocate, was in a great mood Tuesday as he walked to his car after voting in the Democratic primary. Until he spotted a lone young man who stood on the sidewalk, holding a stack of fliers. “See him?” said Mr. Gioia, his face darkening. “He’s from the Working Families Party.” Much to the chagrin of candidates like Mr. Gioia, the still relatively little-known 10-year-old party had dispatched a small army in the weeks before the primary, selling voters on its candidates in the mayoral, City Council, public...

President Obama on April 5, 2009: "So let me be clear: Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile activity poses a real threat, not just to the United States, but to Iran's neighbors and our allies. The Czech Republic and Poland have been courageous in agreeing to host a defense against these missiles. As long as the threat from Iran persists, we will go forward with a missile defense system that is cost-effective and proven. (Applause.) If the Iranian threat is eliminated, we will have a stronger basis for security, and the driving force for missile defense construction in Europe will be...

On a Sunday afternoon not long after he was elected vice president, Joe Biden recalls, he learned a lesson about his new station in life. Biden was finishing up a call with his new chief of staff, Ron Klain, when he dropped the news that his friend Ted Kaufman would be filling his Senate seat. “Did you tell the president?” asked Klain, who, as an aide to Al Gore, had learned something about vice presidents and their place. “Why the hell should I tell the president?” Biden remembers thinking. After all, for 36 years, Biden had been his own man,...

The Sun News, a McClatchy owned paper in Myrtle Beech, South Carolina, was excited to tell its readers that the state’s tourism officials were getting “flooded” with emails from folks upset and threatening to cancel future vacations in South Carolina. What raised the ire of these emailers was the behavior of Representative Joe Wilson (R, SC) who called out that Obama was a liar during the president’s healthcare speech delivered before a joint session of Congress last week. In its first two paragraphs, the Sun News made it seems as if an avalanch of folks had emailed state officials expressing...

Everybody has a zombie contingency plan. A unique and ingenious stratagem they've spent hours contemplating that ensures they and their loved ones will stay alive in the event of a zombie apocalypse. The only problem? You've got the exact same essential plan as everybody else: go raid the gun store, get out of the cities as fast as possible, find a sturdy base to fortify and hole up in, use a melee weapon whenever possible to conserve ammo and--if the worst does come to pass and you find yourself facing down a crowd of the undead--take your time, aim...

British labor unions agreed Thursday to support a boycott of some Israeli goods in response to the offensive in Gaza. The boycott, approved at the annual conference of the Trades Union Congress, calls for a ban on importing goods produced in some Israeli settlements, an end to arms trading with Israel and disinvestment from some companies. Union officials said the boycott would target products including dates, herbs, fruit and vegetables grown on Israeli settlements in the West Bank.

Tomorrow's Russian newspapers are therefore likely to be triumphalist in tone. "See, we were right to give the Americans a hard time on this" will be the line. The climb-down undoubtedly does represent a significant strategic victory for the Kremlin. It also gives substance to Washington's so far woolly "reset" of relations with Russia, and will go a long way to soothe wounded Russian egos. Moscow's biggest complaint about the Bush administration was that it did not take Russia or Russian strategic interests seriously. There is nothing Russians hate more than to think that their old Cold War adversary is...

The hopes of a small group of protesters from Fort Erie and Port Colborne fighting to keep their local emergency room open were dashed Wednesday when Premier Dalton McGuinty refused to consider reversing the decision. The protesters, mainly seniors and all wearing yellow t-shirts, looked on in vain from the legislature's public gallery as the New Democrats tried to get McGuinty to agree to halt the planned closing of the emergency department at Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie. "We have heard from the Local Health Integration Network and their recommendation is that they put in place a 24/7 urgent...

Bishop Rene Henry Gracida, retired Roman Catholic Bishop of Corpus Christi, Texas, has denounced the "scandal" of Ted Kennedy’s funeral. He wrote, "There was so much wrong with the funeral liturgy celebrated in Boston . . . for Senator Edward Moore Kennedy that I hardly know where to begin."He added, "Aside from the impropriety of such a grandiose celebration for one of the country’s most notorious dissident Catholics, the ‘celebration’ was filled with liturgical errors and transgressions against the General Instruction of the Roman Missal which governs every celebration of the Church’s liturgy."Bishop Gracida concluded, "It is not unreasonable to...

Part of the fallout from the whole “ACORN-getting-busted-teaching-folks-how-to-be-better-pimps-and-prostitutes” thing is a long-overdue examination of the role of the mainstream media (I prefer the term "LameStream" Media) in basically covering up for the sins of the far Left these days. The dissembling and weak excuses issuing forth from more than a few of the so-called "giants" in the media (the New York Times, the Washington Post, ABC's Charlie Gibson...who admitted to not even knowing, or caring, about the ACORN dustup etc.) over why they failed to even demonstrate a smidgeon of curiosity about what Barack Obama's favorite community organization was up...

In attempts to distance herself from the plethora of ACORN scandals that have been leaked to the press recently, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had the following to say regarding the legislative action taken against the group: "I don't even know what they passed," Pelosi told The Post yesterday. "What did they do? They defunded it?" Really? I thought you worked there...When your the Speaker of the House and the best option you can come up with to confront an organization like ACORN is to play dumb, you've got a lot of explaining to do. Clearly the left would rather look...

Pocket Tazer Stun Gun, a great gift for the wife. A guy who purchased his lovely wife a pocket Tazer for their anniversary submitted this: Last weekend I saw something at Larry's Pistol & Pawn Shop that sparked my interest. The occasion was our 15th anniversary and I was looking for a little something extra for my wife Julie. What I came across was a 100,000-volt, pocket/purse- sized tazer. The effects of the tazer were supposed to be short lived, with no long-term adverse affect on your assailant, allowing her adequate time to retreat to safety....?? WAY TOO COOL!

News comes on the 70th Anniversary of Soviet Invasion of Poland in WWII!Remember all Obama's talk during last year's presidential campaign about improving our relations with other nations? Well, today, President Obama gave a huge slap in the face to Poland and the Czech Republic, two allies who went out on a limb to support U.S. plans for a missile defense shield needed ever more so in an era when Iran and North Korea are threatening the world with these dangerous weapons. The move is a transparent bid to appease Russia, which continues to refuse every plea that it help us...

A mother who killed herself and her disabled daughter in a blazing car had faced constant abuse and threats from a gang of youths, an inquest heard today. Fiona Pilkington made dozens of calls to the police and council officials to complain about the way her daughter, Francecca Hardwick, was being picked on. The single mother was told to ignore the 16-strong gang. When Miss Pilkington called to complain that youths were trampling her hedge, police told her to close the curtains in her front room. The 38-year-old set light to her car with Francecca, 18, and herself inside.

Yet calls and letters go unanswered! President Obama issued the following invitation at a Town Hall meeting he held in July in Raleigh, NC (White House transcript): So I just want everybody to know, Congress will have time to read the bill. They will have time to debate the bill. They will have all of August to review the various legislative proposals. When we come back in September, I will be available to answer any question that members of Congress have. If they want to come over to the White House and go over line by line what's going on,...

WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., on Thursday questioned whether a Senate health-care proposal was affordable for the middle class and expressed concerns about its effect on the elderly. Pelosi, at her weekly press conference, welcomed health-care legislation released by Senate Finance Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., as a step forward. But she also drew distinction between and House legislation and reiterated her own preference for a public health insurance option. "What is in the Senate bill right now...does not have affordability for the middle class," Pelosi said, but added "we're just seeing the first blush of the Senate bill."...
