There was a moment of supreme truth during Obama's speech Wednesday night, lamentably for Obama, it rolled off the tongue of the very charismatic Rep. Joe Wilson as he interrupted Obama, mid-lie, with the utterance, "You lie!!" The catalyst that apparently ignited Joe Wilson's enthusiastic interjection was Obama's deceptive statement that illegal immigrants would not be covered under his universal health care program. Joe Wilson, apparently temporarily possessed by the Holy Ghost of honesty, was left no choice other than to attempt to cast out the demonic spirit of misstatement that had set up shop in Obama's vocal chords.

Gibbs blasts CNN for reporting on the Coast Guard's training exercise. But what really stands out is at the bottom of the article. Gibbs said "I tend not to question law enforcement". But didn't Obama say that cops acted stupidly regarding the Gates incident? Didn't Obama basically praise Gates for "questioning authority?"

September 11, 2009 Charlatan-in-Chief The core of Obama’s medical-care plan is the promise of something for nothing. Thomas Sowell. ‘Hubris-laden charlatans” was the way a recent e-mail from a reader characterized the Obama administration. That phrase seems especially appropriate for the Charlatan-in-Chief, Barack Obama, whose speech to the joint session of Congress was both a masterpiece of rhetoric and a shameless fraud. To tell us, with a straight face, that he can insure millions more people without adding to the already skyrocketing deficit is world-class chutzpah and an insult to anyone’s intelligence. To do so after an analysis by the...

I know that prior to September 11th, 2001 I knew about the concept of good and evil. I'm sure that I thought I understood them. As I look back eight years later however, I now understand that I never really did until I saw those planes hit the towers on September 11th, 2001.

[VIDEO AT SITE] The sounds of 9/11Eight years ago, on a beautiful Tuesday morning in September I was in Savannah, Georgia on business. As the parking garage elevator descended it stopped on one of the floors below. A gentleman who entered the elevator told us that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. He didn't have any details, just basic information relayed to him by his wife who had called him on his cell phone. My first thought was that it had to be some horrible accident. A sightseeing plane was my thought. The horrifying possibility that was eventually...

I have a dilemma for all the financially wise Freepers out there. I have recently come into enough money to pay off debt ($60K) accumulated to fix up a house I tried to flip and failed due to the reversal in housing market. My question is: Is it wise to pay off debt when it appears inflation is around the corner? Would it be better to invest in commodities, as the dollar looks set to nose dive? I keep reading that one should pay off debt first, but I'm not sure if that's the right move. Any thoughts/advice is much...

While Rep. Joe Wilson has been condemned for calling Obama a liar, he performed a service because even the over-fawning media that have been ignoring the contradictions in the President's speeches are suddenly taking notice, many of them for the first time. Now there is more "fact checking" on statements made by Obama who tries to cast himself in the role of truth-teller, combating “bogus claims” and “misinformation” about his big government health care plan. “If you misrepresent what’s in the plan, we will call you out,” Obama warned his critics.

It may sound just a tad unbelievable and it's most certainly surprising, but the best thing about Cadillac's new SRX is its interior styling. Long a weakness of even the latest generation of "new-and-improved" Caddys, the SRX's cabin vaults it into a leadership position -- at least in this regard -- where the previous version was the worst the upscale crossover segment had to offer. For instance, the gauge set -- long a feature Cadillac seemed to dismiss as insignificant -- now stands out as a truly original design. Not only do the gauges feature trendy black numerals on a...

President George W. Bush plans a quiet day in his Dallas office Friday in his first Sept. 11 since leaving the White House. *snip* "Eight years ago, our nation and our freedom came under attack. On this solemn anniversary, Laura and I hold the victims and their families in our thoughts and prayers. We honor those who volunteer to keep us safe and extend the reach of freedom — including members of the armed forces, law enforcement officers, and intelligence and homeland security professionals. Their courage, service and sacrifice is a fitting tribute to all those who gave their lives...

Al Qaeda is VERY SOPHISTICATED explains Bud McFarlane in this local Washington, DC Channel 7 TV Broadcast that I recorded on 9/11 2001. McFarlane analyzes how ONLY Al Qaeda and maybe 1 or 2 other groups would be sophisticated ENOUGH to pull of 9/11 attacks on the USA. He believes Al Qaeda is responsible because Al Qaeda is SO sophisticated that almost no one else could do it. NOTE that Osama Bin Laden did NOT leave in a cave before 9/11, but commanded huge compounds inside Afghanistan, in collaboration with the government of Afghanistan and Pakistan's intelligence service ISI. It...

U.S. Sen. Richard Burr's approval rating remains below 40 percent, which might ordinarily be bad news for a politician, but he's still ahead of any of his potential Democratic challengers in next year's election, according to a poll released Friday. The approval rating for Burr, a Republican, was 38 percent, according to the survey by Public Policy Polling, a Democratic firm. In matchups against possible Democratic opponents, Burr beat: U.S. Rep. Bob Etheridge, of Lillington, by 41 to 34 percent. Secretary of State Elaine Marshall, who officially launched her candidacy this week, and former Lt. Gov. Dennis Wicker, by the...

This week, the Office of National Statistics published a list of the most popular boys' names in Britain: Jack, Oliver, Thomas, Harry, Joshua, Alfie, Charlie, Daniel. There is just one small problem: the list is deceitful. In reality, the third most popular choice for boy children. The ONS explains blithely that it had no intent to deceive. Its normal practice is to catalogue different spellings separately, as in Mohammed, Muhammed and so on. But if you add these variants together, as surely seems logical, then Mohammed is right up there, near the top of the list. Unfortunately, in recent

After more than 15 years of slime, race-baiting, misogeny and shameless self-promotion, Michael Savage is off the air in his hometown market, San Francisco. KNEW announced his departure on its Web site, with an unsigned note from a guy who looks like he's in management, or a character from the Sopranos. "Here's your no-spin direct answer; we have decided to go in a different philosophical and ideological direction, featuring more contemporary content and more local information. The Savage Nation does not fit into that vision." Let's read between the lines. It's not hard. Savage was expensive. Clear Channel, the owner,...

Justice Anthony Scalia made a prediction in 2003 when the Supreme Court heard oral arguments on the McCain-Feingold law in 2003: "if history teaches us anything, [it] is that when you plug one means of expression, the money will go to whatever means of expression are left." The case the Supreme Court heard on Wednesday, Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, shows that Justice Scalia was right. The case focused on a movie released during the 2008 presidential campaign, "Hillary: The Movie." It doesn't explicitly advocate that Hillary Clinton be defeated in her bid for the presidency, but no one...

The September 11th Anniversary is a reminder of a tragic day that we must never forget so that the horror will never be repeated! What with all the Obama partisans trying to corrupt the meaning and memory of the September 11th attacks for political advantage, it's more important than ever before that we pause for a time on this anniversary and reflect. September 11, 2001 is a day that Americans with red blood in their veins will never forget. Nor should we. It's a reminder of what awful things can happen if we let down our guard in a world...

San Diego County Man Guilty Of Killing Baby, Former Lover Dennis Potts, 25, was convicted of first-degree murder in the strangling deaths of his 10-month-old son and the boy's mother, Tori Vienneau, who was pushing for a paternity test. Associated Press September 10, 2009 A San Diego County man was convicted of first-degree murder Thursday for strangling his 10-month-old son and the baby's mother because she was pressuring him to take a paternity test. A Superior Court jury deliberated for two days before convicting Dennis Potts, 25, of killing 22-year-old Tori Vienneau and their child, Dean, in 2006. In closing...

State laws are changing all the time. For example, Arizona will make it legal for gun owners with permits to carry concealed weapons to take their fire arms into drinking establishments -- bars -- on September 29. Up until now, guns were barred from any kind of establishment where alcohol is served but that law no longer stands. Since this country came into existence, laws have come and gone, sometimes addressing very specific circumstances which no longer apply. Today, these outdated laws may seem just plain wacky to us but at some point they were very important. That's why we...

Van Jones may be gone from the Obama administration after a long list of questionable remarks and actions forced his resignation, but the former "green jobs" adviser still has the backing of some at The Los Angeles Times and other news outlets that refused to report the original controversy. And the list of news outlets that ignored the story is a long and lofty one. While FOX News and a few talk radio hosts kept the public informed about Jones' record, most major news outlets, including The New York Times, CNN.com and MSNBC.com, remained silent until nearly the end, when...
