Al Qaeda is VERY SOPHISTICATED explains Bud McFarlane in this local Washington, DC Channel 7 TV Broadcast that I recorded on 9/11 2001.
McFarlane analyzes how ONLY Al Qaeda and maybe 1 or 2 other groups would be sophisticated ENOUGH to pull of 9/11 attacks on the USA. He believes Al Qaeda is responsible because Al Qaeda is SO sophisticated that almost no one else could do it.
NOTE that Osama Bin Laden did NOT leave in a cave before 9/11, but commanded huge compounds inside Afghanistan, in collaboration with the government of Afghanistan and Pakistan's intelligence service ISI.
It was only the day before 9/11, 9/10, that Al Qaeda broke camp and headed for the hills to hide, along with killing the pro-US leader of the Northern Alliance.
HOW DID OBL KNOW the day before 9/11, to go hide in the hills in advance of 9/11?

Well, I think McFarlane makes clear that by “sophisticated” he means widspread and organized, able to coordinate, and well-funded. Not high-tech.
TO my mind the 9/11 attacks were incredibly SIMPLE. What kept me awake unable to sleep on the evening of 9/11, until 3 in the morning, was how diabolically SIMPLE the 9/11 plot was... and how easy it would be to keep doing it again and again.
I imagined other variations on the theme, which I will not publicize for fear of giving anyone ideas.
However, Al Qaeda was in fact extremely well-funded (Bin Laden was worth $200 million plus personally and tapped Saudi oil princes for more) and extremely widespread. They were training thousands of terrorists in sophisticated TERRORIST ACADEMIES (my word) in Afghanistan.
So by the standards of other terrorist organizations, Al Qaeda stood out as extremely capable of carrying out 9/11.
This was NOT 19 hijackers who lived in caves and had sex with goats.
This was a multi-million dollar operation with HUNDREDS of operatives world-wide at Khalikh Sheikh Mohammed’s disposal, to execute dozens or hundreds of dry runs to pinpoint the weak points in security, research every aspect of the US avaiation system and airport security, and map out the entire plan.
Then 19 (originally 20) mostly Saudis with CLEAN records (as much as possible) to show up at the last minute to simply walk on the stage and follow the script planned out by dozens or hundreds of others.
I agree. I was just thinking this morning on the 8th anniversary, for the first time, that the biggest reason the USA has not been attacked again may be the heroic passengers of Flight 93.
The first 3 aircraft could be successfully hijacked because the passengers did not know they were going to die no matter what.
The 4th aircraft could not be hijacked and flown into a building, because the passengers of United Flight 93 KNEW too much about what was happening.
So, in that sense, the 9/11 plot could never be repeated, because the passengers would not stand for it. Terrorists saw that the American people would not sit by and be used without fighting back.
All true, but what made this SIMPLE operation so incredibly EASY was having 20 fanatics willing to die.
Once you have that, it is really simple.
For example, a SINGLE suicidal fanatic could walk into any of the NFL home openers this weekend and take out hundreds, if not thousands without really a lot of forethought and sophistication.
It was sophisticated in the sense that it took years of planning, required safe passage into the U.S., then required that each of the pilots get through flight-training unsuspected, then required test runs, coordination, and ice in the veins of 20 people who would keep it secret, then strike in unison, within the timespan of an hour (don’t forget, flight 93 was delayed, sparing the Capitol), successfully subdue the pilots, attendants, and passengers, then actually fly the planes with enough competence to register direct hits on all their targets.
Yeah, I’d say that’s an incredibly sophisticated operation as opposed to someone strapping on a bomb and blowing up a bus.
Flight 93 would have unfolded much differently were it not for the flight delay.
By the time WTC was struck, Flight 93 would have been well on the way to Washington if it left on time.

My opinion is that some, if not all the pilots were already trained, the training here was a cover, they may even have been fighter pilots or other jet pilots trained in the US, perhaps even by our AF/Navy as part of the joint training/sales programs.
And your evidence for that lunatic assertion?
