The Flint Journal is reporting that an unidentified pro-life advocate was shot and killed in front of Owosso High School this morning. A suspect was taken into custody shortly after the shooting. So far, no further details have been released, but based on the photo and the story, and the indication that there was an oxygen tank left at the scene, one wonders whether the victim was aged. Contrary to secular media reports, there’s a fair amount of violence perpetrated by abortion advocates - in addition to the violence done to the unborn - against pro-life advocates. That story is...

Eight years ago today, our homeland was attacked by fanatical Muslims inspired by Saudi Arabian bigotry. Three thousand American citizens and residents died. We resolved that we, the People, would never forget. Then we forgot. We've learned nothing. Instead of cracking down on Islamist extremism, we've excused it. Instead of killing terrorists, we free them. Instead of relentlessly hunting Islamist madmen, we seek to appease them. Instead of acknowledging that radical Islam is the problem, we elected a president who blames America, whose idea of freedom is the right for women to suffer in silence behind a veil -- and...

September 11, 2009, 0:00 a.m. A Ring of Truth(ers)Truthers vs. birthers. By Jonah Goldberg Herewith, two scenarios. Scenario A: The supposedly inept president of the United States carefully planned and orchestrated the worst terrorist attack on American soil in our history. Though “only†3,000 people died, the plan was to kill many more by simultaneously attacking the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and either the U.S. Capitol or the White House itself on Sept. 11, 2001. Hundreds of people, including personnel from myriad agencies, participated. According to some versions of Scenario A, explosives were placed at the World Trade...

Forget immaculate make-up or witty one-liners. The secret of seduction is as simple as standing next to your less attractive friend. Studies show that our judgments of people vary according to the company they keep. And if that company is less attractive, or dare we say it, ugly, the first person seems all the more appealing.

Here is video of Pat Buchanan telling Joe Scarborough today that the Democrats control the media, along with both houses of Congress, leaving the GOP as a party in opposition. Well, of course the GOP is the opposition party to Obama - he stands for just about everything conservative Americans do not: Bigger Government, Higher Taxes, Abortion on Demand - even to the point of infanticide, Government Health Care, Weaker National Defense, etc. . . It makes it much tougher when all but one national media outlet is totally in the tank for the Democrats. But despite everything being in...

Catching up slowly... Less than a day after Rep. Joe Wilson formally apologized to President Obama over his "you lie" outburst, a campaign aide confirms to CNN the South Carolina Republican has raised "more than $200,000″ in the wake of the now-infamous moment. News of that cash haul comes after Wilson directly asked in a Web video for campaign cash to fend off attacks from political opponents and said he's standing by his opposition to Democratic efforts at health care reform. "On these issues, I will not be muzzled, I will speak up and speak loudly against this risky plan,"...

...New Jersey and Independence avenues outside the Cannon Office Building was the Band of Mothers on Thursday afternoon, playing patriotic music, waving signs and asking passers-by to write postcards to soldiers as they have done at least 10 times over the past two years. "We give lots of hugs to veterans, too," said Band of Mothers founder Beverly Perlson. But not every demonstration is so warm and fuzzy, she said. Mrs. Perlson told this reporter about the time Rep. John P. Murtha, Pennsylvania Democrat, called the Capitol Hill Police on her last year. She had gone into his office to...

WASHINGTON -(Dow Jones)- The Obama administration opened a new front in its effort to impose $31.5 billion in taxes on oil and gas companies, saying that the nation puts too much emphasis on oil and gas at the expense of other industries. The chief economist in the Obama administration's Treasury Department testified before a Senate panel that current subsidies "lead to overinvestment" in the oil and gas industry. That went beyond previous statements about the need to protect taxpayers and was the clearest signal yet that the federal government hopes to end its role in nurturing domestic oil and gas...

After Andrew Breitbart’s Big Government blog published videos from investigative journalists posing as pimps and traffickers in child-slavery rings at ACORN, the community-organizing group fired the two women who offered advice on how to evade law enforcement and tax obligations. ACORN then claimed that this was a problem isolated to the Baltimore office and the two ACORN employees involved. Unfortunately for ACORN and its credibility, Big Government’s James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles also paid a visit to their Washington DC offices … and got the exact same assistance:

Remembering is sacred. Yet Congress has created a National Day of Service and Remembrance to remember 9/11, an act that has shifted the emphasis from memory to activism. Painting park benches or tutoring in schools is not a worthwhile tribute to those lost on 9/11.

Congressional Black Caucus members are standing squarely behind one of their own: embattled Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel (D-N.Y.). In separate interviews with The Hill, several members of the CBC, including Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. (D-Mich.), Rep. Carolyn Kilpatrick (D-Mich.), Bobby Rush (D-Ill.), Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-Texas) and Mel Watt (D-N.C.) all expressed unmitigated support for Rangel holding onto the Ways and Means post. Overall, The Hill interviewed about a dozen members of the caucus, who all defended Rangel and said he is innocent until proven guilty. “He’s done a great job as chairman of the...

Big Government, Andrew Breitbart’s new website, is running two videos taken on July 24 by James O’Keefe, a 25-year-old independent filmmaker, of an ACORN operation in Baltimore. In the videos, O’Keefe and a colorfully dressed friend pose as a pimp and his prostitute seeking help in securing housing from which to operate a brothel. ACORN workers advise them how to file a false tax return, how to describe on federal forms the work (prostitution) as performance art, how to bring underage girls from El Salvador into the house to work, and how to avoid scrutiny by the authorities. The two-part...

A South Carolina deputy coroner say a man who disappeared shortly after losing his job starved to death. Multiple media outlets reported that the body of 39-year-old David Scott Condon was found in a tent near Lake Hartwell on Saturday night.
