A 49-year-old man suspected in the killings of at least eight women over 21 years in Milwaukee has been charged in connection with two of the homicides, authorities announced Monday. Walter E. Ellis of Milwaukee faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide in the killings of Joyce Mims, 41, and Ouithreaun Stokes, 28, who were strangled a decade apart. Ellis was arrested around noon Saturday at a motel in Franklin, one day after authorities linked DNA from his toothbrush with samples found on Mims' and Stokes' bodies, according to a criminal complaint. Ellis could be charged this week in connection...

Traveling Tea Party draws thousands September 8, 2009 BY CASEY CORA Billed as a protest against taxes and government spending, the national Tea Party's stop in New Lenox became a gathering of local conservatives and a call to action on national political issues. "As much as we say the system failed us, maybe we failed the system as well," said Joliet resident Tim Kraulidis, who helped organize Monday's event. "We can't complain ... that our legislators are doing things we don't want them to do and then we don't engage the system." About 6,000 people packed the hillside venue at...

(NaturalNews) The new $800 billion economic stimulus bill contains some striking new "Big Brother" health care language that should give pause to all freedom-loving Americans. For starters, the bill requires the electronic tracking of the medical records of all Americans. All your private medical data will be stored in a government database, including your history of disease, pharmaceutical treatments, surgeries and even emergency room visits. How would you like the government knowing all the details about your drug rehab? Or alcoholism treatments? Abortion? Sexually-transmitted disease diagnosis? Pregnancy status? Blood test results? But it gets even more interesting than that: Under...

President Barack Obama, and his Democrat Party cohorts, simply fails to understand that government doesn’t create jobs and spark the economy. It also fails to sustain families and individuals during the hard times created by economic recessions. For instance, Obama's ideas for stimulating the economy -- such as more construction projects -- will not jump start the economy. Will it help some people keep their jobs? Sure. Will it strengthen Obama’s union allies and keep government programs afloat? Definitely. But will it help average citizens facing economic turmoil in the lives? NO. The same goes with Obama's plans to increase...

When the Fatah Central Committee convened its sixth party conference last month in Bethlehem -- the first such meeting in twenty years and the first ever held on Palestinian Authority territory -- one might have expected a bit of soul-searching. After all, more than two decades after the Palestine Liberation Organization and its main political faction met America's prerequisites for a dialogue by rhetorically recognizing Israel's right to exist, renouncing terrorism, and accepting United Nations Resolution 242, a casual observer might assume that a re-examination of revolutionary principles was in order. Yet nothing of the sort occurred. That is because...

The now-discarded first draft of the president's speech to the nation's schoolchildren: I am so happy to address you in my first speech as your Leader. First, let me get the crappola over with -- stay in school, do your homework, yada, yada, yada (like the Left wants an educated public -- Ha!) What I really want to talk to you about, my little brothers and sisters, is how you can change the world. Our beautiful planet and all the wondrous animals and plants are dying an excruciatingly painful death, minute by minute, second by second, just because your folks...

(IsraelNN.com) Palestinian Authority Arabs have made a variety of accusations against Israel over the years, from distributing bubble gum that corrupts Muslim youth to attacking with trained pigs. The latest rumor making the rounds among Arabs in Samaria is that Israelis are training snakes to attack innocent farmers, according to the Bethlehem-based Maan news, whichis closely associated with the Fatah-led Palestinian Authority. The rumor apparently began when a snake bit a woman outside a village adjacent to the Jewish city of Ariel. Local Arabs said that after the attack, the snake “escaped” toward Ariel. The snake's movement was taken as...

RAMALLAH, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- A senior Palestinian official unveiled Tuesday some details of a peace plan for a permanent peaceful solution to the Israeli-Arab conflict, which was recently drafted by U.S. President Barack Obama, who intends to officially declare it soon. According to Hassan Khraisha, deputy speaker of the Palestinian parliament, the plan includes the establishment of an independent Palestinian statehood first in the West Bank, and then Gaza Strip will be included, while holy sites in East Jerusalem will be under Arab and Islamic supervision. Khraisha, who is also an independent lawmaker in the Hamas-dominated parliament, accused some...

Does anyone remember the old Saturday Night Live skit where a shark shows up at this woman's apartment door? She looks through the peep-hole and recognizes the threat and refuses to allow the shark in. The shark returns minutes later dressed as a candy-gram courier. Foolishly, the woman opens her apartment to the poorly disguised shark. Her stupiditiy is very funny. This Obama speech to our children is no different. He initially attempeted entry into our schools last week with an announcment and "follow-up study materials". It was instantly recognized as a school sanctioned political advertisement and an attept to...

American citizens are being asked to weigh in on California's Harvey Milk Day bill. The California Assembly has passed a bill establishing an annual day to honor openly homosexual San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk, who was assassinated November 27, 1978. SaveCalifornia.com president Randy Thomasson is calling on conservative Christians to contact the governor's office. "The bill -- which will honor a sexual predator, a polygamous relationship advocate, and a public liar -- and extend a homosexual, bisexual, transsexual agenda as a role model to children to aspire to is going to the governor after a short stop on the...

Whoever believes, “All men are created equal,” never stood face-to-face with Michael E. Thornton. Of course, I’m being facetious: All men are indeed created equal in the eyes of God and the law. But I do stand by what I’ve been saying for years: That is, retired Navy SEAL and Medal of Honor recipient Mike Thornton could walk into any fraternity house in the country and instantly be the biggest, baddest man in the house. No exaggeration, and the guy is 60-years-old. As I wrote last year, I’ve known Mike for about 15 years (now 16). I met him even...

Hi, First day back to school for my two younger sisters. I read the speech. Obama invokes the word "I" 56 times!!!! I am sending my 14 year old sister to school with her Ipod and my 10 year old sister has no interest in anything Obama has to say, so I imagine she will be busy talking with the girls seated next to her. Jimmy Carter may have been the worst president in American History, but you gotta give the guy some credit, 30 years after he left the high office of the Presidency he is still diligently working to screw up America and its allies. He can no longer screw-up Zimbabwe or Iran, those deeds have been done, so now he is working on turning the Middle East into a powder keg and he has the Richard Branson's elders as an ally in his efforts. The elders are a "save the world" group created by the British billionaire Richard Branson (the Virgin Guy)...

America's media miss history By KENNETH BANDLER Print Subscribe E-mail Toolbar + Recommend: What's this? Talkbacks for this article: 1 If a tree falls in a forest, and no one is there, does it make a sound? That childhood philosophy question comes to mind when considering the lack of American media coverage of the recent Fatah congress. It was the first such gathering in 20 years, the first in a city controlled by the Palestinian Authority, and Fatah delegates from dozens of countries were among the 2,000 attendees. Ironically, several hundred Fatah members residing in Gaza were prohibited by Hamas,...

Before this year, the survey's previous low point was a net 1% hiring outlook for the third quarter of 1982.
