UAH Global Temperature Anomaly for June 09 ~ ZERO There was a lot of speculation last year that our global temperature would recover (increase) from the huge drops last spring. While there has been some recovery, the overall global temperature trend since 1999 has been the subject of much debate. What is not debatable is that the current global temperature anomaly, as determined by a leading authority on global satellite temperature measurements, says we have no departure from “normal” this month. Given the U.S. Senate is about to vote upon the most complex and costly plan to regulate greenhouse gases,...

The Rochester NY Independence Day Tea Party was held on Friday, July 3, 2009 at Ontario Beach Park in the Rochester waterfront of Lake Ontario, a place that is known as Charlotte. Most people were given this day off as a Holiday and the organizers, We Surround Rochester, the Campaign for Freedom, the Campaign for America and RochesterConservative.com, thought that having it in the evening, from 6pm-9pm, would be a great way of starting out the Independence Day weekend...

These Hondurang people came out with flags and signs, and are VERY ANGRY with CNN and its slanted, pro-communist coverage of the Zelaya situation in Honduras. They also have choice words for Communist Hugo Chavez, Zelaya's patron in this whole destabilization and power-grab fiasco.LINK HERE

The whole point of law is to prevent humans from interacting in a world where only power dictates human affairs, and instead, to establish a system of rules grounded in justice. But for this to happen, a lot of power needs to be forcibly shifted away from the powerful, and into the hands of — well, that’s the problem, isn’t it?

So when you think Independence Day fireworks audio productions do you think of John Mellencamp, Kid Rock, and Neil Diamond as the musical accompaniment? Apparently the City of Chicago did. Either that, or the City of Chicago didn't care enough about the patriotism inherent in an Independence Day fireworks show to make sure that the radio station they farmed the job out to bothered to include any patriotic songs in the program. Not only were there no patriotic songs in the program (unless you think "R O C K in the USA" is a patriotic song?) but someone forgot to...

The death of Michael Jackson has been an economic stimulus for cable news networks feeling the decline of Obama-mania in a post-election year. Everyone from Nancy Grace to Geraldo to Larry King to Keith Olbermann has jumped into a wall-to-wall, flood-the-zone media strategy since the international pop star died on Thursday, June 25. But for news networks CNN and MSNBC, it has been a temporary help that hasn't altered the basic landscape, where Fox News still reigns supreme. All three of the main players -- Fox News Channel, CNN and MSNBC -- bested by far their viewership average with their...

A total of seven centers have been closed. Rita Diller is the new executive director of STOPP International, which is a part of the American Life League. "Most of these were abortion referral centers and they distributed morning-after pills and other devices that can cause early abortion," Diller explains. The centers also doubled as HIV/AIDS outreach centers. However, Diller says the facilities became a hangout for homosexuals. In one instance, Diller says a cross-dresser would arrive at a center, change into women's clothing, and cruise homosexual bars -- returning afterward to change back into men's clothing. That man, she says,...

NEW YORK - A New York congressman says in a YouTube video that Michael Jackson was a “pervert.” Rep. Peter King said society is “glorifying” a “low-life” while ignoring the efforts of teachers, police officers, firefighters, veterans and volunteers. Jackson was acquitted of molesting a boy. In the video, the congressman says the “day in and day out” coverage of Jackson’s death is “too politically correct.”

WASHINGTON, DC – Defying some of his fellow conservative Christian critics, one of the most prominent religious leaders in the country told several thousand American Muslims on Saturday that "the two largest faiths on the planet" must work together to combat stereotypes and solve global problems. "Some problems are so big you have to team tackle them," evangelical megachurch pastor Rick Warren addressed the annual convention of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). Warren said Muslims and Christians should be partners in working to end what he calls "the five global giants" of war, poverty, corruption, disease, and illiteracy....

The widely claimed number of uninsured Americans is dishonest and misleading. A study released by the Employment Policies Institute (EPI) on June 23, 2009 shows that 43 percent of the claimed 47 million uninsured Americans can afford medical insurance and elect to remain “voluntarily uninsured.” At least 18 million of the uninsured are under the age of 35 and earn more than enough to purchase health insurance that would cost less than $100 per month. Many of the uninsured qualify for health care coverage through SCHIP, Medicaid or other existing government programs but for whatever reason, about 11 million simply...

It seems that on July fourth, The New York Times saw fit to smirk at both American patriotism and Christianity. A recent Times article about the erection of a giant, though strategically altered, replica of the Statue of Liberty by a showman of a Memphis pastor presented a perfect example of the ridicule and disdain with which the Times views Christianity and American patriotism, both. In Memphis, Tennessee, writer Shalia Dewan could barely hide her sarcasm and distaste for the patriotism and the muscular Christianity espoused by Pastor Alton R. Williams in her coverage of the unveiling of the...

Yet another sci-fi milestone is upon us: microchips implanted under your skin and used to identify you. The VeriChip is the first radio-frequency identification (RFID) microchip that’s been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for use in humans. The chip is the size of a long grain of rice, and can be implanted pretty much anywhere in the body (most commonly along the tricep). Depending on how it’s used, the chip could do anything from telling doctors your medical background to buying you a round at the club.Outside of human bodies, RFID is already used for a wide range...

Here is MUST SEE video of a Canadian woman diagnosed with a brain tumor telling her nightmare story of what she faced in the government-run Canadian health care system. She would have faced a six month wait just to see the needed doctors to determine treatment. She came to the U.S. and had seen the needed specialists within ONE WEEK! Those doctors tried to pull strings in Canada to get her needed surgery scheduled and could not. She wound up having her surgery here in the United States. The end of the video is especially poignant. The woman begins to...

A European filmmaker is warning the U.S. about the disastrous cost of cap and trade. The U.S. House last week passed the Waxman-Markey Energy Bill, otherwise known as "cap and trade." The legislation seeks to limit the emission of carbon dioxide from conventional power plants and seeks to produce more power from wind and solar. Opponents of the measure argued that implementation of cap and trade would destroy the American economy and dramatically increase energy costs for the average American -- something then-presidential candidate Barack Obama stated clearly while on the campaign trail in late 2008. "Under my plan of...

Utilities: Smart Billing By Staff Reports Published: July 6, 2009 A little more than a year ago, the Wilder administration and the City Council backed off a proposed stormwater fee to underwrite infrastructure projects, many of which the council killed off for financial reasons. This year the council decided it could put matters off no longer, and adopted a budget that included a stormwater fee. City residents have received brochures. In a few weeks, they'll receive the bills, which typically will run in the neigbhorhood of $50 for the year. Businesses will have to shell out, too. Although we're not...

WASHINGTON, June 25 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In May of this year, a Supreme Court decision severely impeded the use of identity theft charges as an immigration enforcement tool. In June, several people were arrested after a fraud scheme was uncovered at a Florida driver's license bureau. In July, a new Utah law targeting illegal aliens and document fraud will take effect. As these examples show, illegal immigration is inherently tied to document fraud and identity theft. As states continue to search for answers, it is apparent that the Federal government has not yet found a working legislative solution to deter these...

PHILADELPHIA - For students at Thurgood Marshall Elementary School, there really is such a thing as a free lunch - and a free breakfast, too. With no strings attached. The Philadelphia school district's unique program provides free food for all children in schools with a high percentage of low-income students, dispensing with the cumbersome forms parents must fill out elsewhere to qualify their kids for free meals. Although federal officials recently threatened to kill this paperless model, other cities are looking to replicate it. Food service directors say it eliminates the costly bureaucracy that both deters needy families from applying...
