NEW NATIONAL POLL: DONALD TRUMP HAS BIGGEST LEAD EVER WITH CARSON A DISTANT 2ND…(40% to Bush 10%)

A new national poll out today by OANN and Gravis Marketing has Trump up to 40%, his YUGEST lead ever over his Republican contenders. Here’s how each candidate rated:

oann_trump_forty

While Carson’s lead more than doubled, he’s still a distant second place with the rest of the GOP field behind him. Not that Jeb lost a bit as both Cruz and Fiorina gained.

Here’s the info on the poll:

Gravis Marketing, a nonpartisan research firm, conducted a random survey of 3,567 registered voters across the U.S. regarding the presidential election. The poll has a margin of error of +/- 2%. The total may not equal exactly 100% due to rounding. The polls were conducted on August 21-22 using interactive voice response, IVR, technology and weighted separately for each population in the question presented.

It appears to be an anti-career-politician wave/election.

That sounds right to me.

I agree. But thats nothing when compared against Trumps record on issues. NOTHING.

Even with that Cruz is head and shoulders over every candidate in 30 years. It ain’t even arguable.

And liberals abandoned him.

That Trump would select Cruz as his running mate is in my opinion a ruse by Trump and/or his supporters to try to quite the conservative base long enough to secure the nomination at which point Trump wont pick ANY other candidates running, but will instead pick another business man he respects to be his VP.

Yeah. That H1B thing really strikes emotional responses. I think it is an overreaction, but I need to work to understand it better. I do not see that the people reacting so strongly understand it in all that much depth either. They rattle off something about tech jobs...blah blah blah...and act like the sky is falling. Maybe it is falling, but I am not yet convinced.

In a 17-person field, this is truly astonishing, especially considering that he's not the GOPe candidate --and not even a politician.

Apparently, any candidate with 30+% of the "vote" at this point in the primary campaign is a very strong favorite. At 40%, he seems to be a shoe in.

I'm hoping that at least Cruz gets a chance to be heard before this is over.

When does 100 percent come lol.

You know, if I thought all of his votes would go to Cruz, I would be down in the dumps.

But they wouldn’t. They would go to Carson, Fiorina, Jeb, Cruz and even that wacko Paul, leaving jeb the winner.

Cruz is playing his cards right. When the time is right, we should put pressure on Trump’s campaign to make Cruz the VP. He is very young and will still be just as bright in 9 years.

I really want Trump to bring Cruz along with him in this.

I thought he would because he needs someone familiar with DC to help him with the protocols, etc amongst the Senate and such and I do believe Cruz will end up somewhere in the mix. But I think for VP he may end up with Fiorina since he's already ticked off the liberal females - he needs a woman to show he's not a misogynist.

That Trump would select Cruz as his running mate is in my opinion a ruse by Trump and/or his supporters...

Why would it have to be a ruse? Good grief.

I don't think Cruz can get the nomination with Democrats and "Moderate" Republicans voting against Conservatives. Hasn't happened in 32 years.

Trump has the CEO experience and seemingly good instincts. Cruz would be a great asset to the ticket.

He's well grounded with SCOTUS and Congressional experience. He's a great debater.

I view this as a dream ticket. Trump gets them in. Cruz picks up on CEO techniques. Trump serves one or two terms. Cruz serves two. Then he moves on the the SCOTUS.

What's not to like?

I view it more as Trump has the firepower and cash to actually win the office. His huddling with Cruz says Cruz has an inside track to be the VP in my book.

It wouldn’t hurt him to have that on his resume.

Right now Cruz is rebuilding the old Christian moral majority. He will bring that to the table.

Trump is rebuilding the Reagan democrat, middle class conservative and defense conservative and pro-America wings of the Reagan coalition.

That is the entire Reagan coalition. It seems very clear to me that’s what’s taking place.

It’s not good but it is way overblown. Tens of thousands more a year are offshored and draw nowhere near the negative reaction.

It’s liberals looking for another reason to avoid voting for a man rock solid on everything else. Thats all it is and all it ever will be.If they were so concerned over loss of American jobs, they wouldn’t be buying all those Apple computers and Hundays anyway.

Does he? Yes. Will he? Probably.

Doesn’t change the FACT that liberal republicans put winning with a liberal over winning with a conservative. Sure Trump is better than most up there. He ain’t better than Cruz. And he isn’t more conservative.

So people just need to stop lying to everyone about their conservatism. They are moderates. So be it.

Trump has made some simply devastating comments about Fiorina. There is no way for him to pick her in light of his scathing critique.

Are they getting some financial reward to stay in? Tax breaks or something else?

those running for federal office – including presidential candidates – must abide by strict FEC guidelines when it comes to their extra campaign money. They can donate an unlimited amount to a charity or political party. They can also, within limits, make contributions directly to other candidates. A campaign committee can give up to $2,000 per election to each candidate. If the committee is converted into a political action committee, the limit jumps to $5,000 – but to be established as a PAC, the committee would have to be in existence for six months, receive contributions from 50 donors, and make contributions to five recipients. What candidates can’t do with leftover money is use it for personal expenses. Retiring federal lawmakers used to be able to pocket extra cash and use it for cars, vacations, clothes, pet grooming, whatever – but that changed in 1989 with the passage of the Ethics Reform Act.
It looks like there's some wiggle room here, as a candidate could donate the money to his own personal charity, or launder the money through a charity (i.e., Candidate A donates to the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Foundation puts Candidate A on the board the following year).

Campaign donations, like volume book purchases, could also be a way of laundering kickbacks.

I can't think of any other reason why anyone would be donating to the bottom tier candidates.
