Chinese security forces swarm Tibet
Published: 03.15.08, 23:44 / Israel News
Soldiers on foot and in armored carriers swarmed Tibet’s capital Saturday, enforcing a strict curfew a day after protesters burned shops and cars to vent their anger against Chinese rule. In another western city, police clashed with hundreds of Buddhist monks leading a sympathy demonstration.
The violence erupted just two weeks before China’s Summer Olympic celebrations kick off with the start of the torch relay, which passes through Tibet. China is gambling that its crackdown will not draw an international outcry over human rights violations that could lead to boycotts of the Olympics. (AP)

“Islamabad bombing targets foreigners”
By BILL ROGGIO
March 15, 2008 4:52 PM
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The Taliban and al Qaeda continue their terror campaign in the nuclear-armed state of Pakistan. The latest bombing occurred at an Italian restaurant in the capital city of Islamabad. At least one civilian was killed and 15 wounded in an attack that appears to have targeted foreigners in the city.
The bombing occurred in the courtyard of the Luna Caprese restaurant, known to be frequented by foreigners. Pakistani police ruled out a suicide bomb attack and believe the bomb was planted and detonated remotely.
The person killed in the bombing has been identified as a female Turkish nurse who worked at the US Embassy. “Seven US citizens, a Chinese national, a Briton, a Canadian citizen, two Japanese journalists and three Pakistanis” were wounded, The Hindu reported. Several members of the US Embassy also were wounded.
Pakistans Interior Ministry has issued a new terror advisory in the wake of the Islamabad bombing, Geo News reported. Federal Authorities and Provincial Home Ministries have been informed that latest intelligence signals more terrorist acts in the country.”
No statutes of limitation on murder.
If it’s more Manson family murders, try those evil [s]uckers ASAP.

STATEMENT OF J. PATRICK ROWAN
DEPUTY ASSISTANT ATTORNEY GENERAL

BEFORE THE

COMMITTEE ON THE JUDICARY

CONCERNING
ENFORCEMENT OF FEDERAL ESPIONAGE LAWS
PRESENTED

Statement of
J. Patrick Rowan
Deputy Assistant Attorney General
National Security Division
U.S. Department of Justice
Before the
Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security
Committee on the Judiciary
United States House of Representatives
Concerning
Enforcement of Federal Espionage Laws
January 29, 2008
Chairman Scott, Ranking Member Gohmert, and members of the Subcommittee:
It is my pleasure to appear before you today to discuss the National Security Divisions enforcement of Federal espionage laws. As you know, the clandestine intelligence collection activities of foreign nations include not only traditional Cold War style efforts to obtain military secrets, but, increasingly, sophisticated operations to obtain trade secrets, intellectual property, and technologies controlled for export for national security reasons. Accordingly, these activities and others implicate a wide array of Federal criminal statutes. But no matter what form of espionage is being used, or which statutes are implicated, there is one common denominator: our national security is always at stake.
Unfortunately, espionage did not end with the end of the Cold War, and in fact, we have investigated espionage activities relating to more countries now than in the past. Recent cases have involved efforts to get information or technology to countries like China, Cuba, the Philippines, and South Korea, for example:
Noshir Gowadia is a former design engineer from Northrop Corporation who has been charged in an 18-count superseding indictment in the District of Hawaii with espionage and export violations stemming from substantial defense related services he allegedly performed for the Peoples Republic of China. This includes his illegal sale of U.S. military technology secrets to China. Gowadia allegedly agreed to design, and later designed, a low observable cruise missile exhaust system nozzle capable of rendering the missile less susceptible to detection and interception. The case is set for trial in the District of Hawaii in October 2008.”

TAMPA - A 22-year-old Clearwater man, arrested at Tampa International Airport after security personnel said they found a box cutter hidden inside a hollowed out book, will be released on a $25,000 signature bond, federal officials said.
A federal judge has allowed the uncle of Benjamin Baines Jr., to use his signature as bail, said Steve Cole, the spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's Office in Tampa. If Baines does not show for court, his uncle must pay $25,000.

China steps up air security after alleged terror plot
3/15/08
BEIJING Chinese authorities have announced tighter airport security ahead of the Beijing Olympics after saying an alleged Muslim terrorist tried to blow up a plane with soft drink cans containing petrol.
Passengers will no longer be allowed to take liquids onto domestic flights, according to regulations posted on the national aviation authority's website, which said more specifics on that ban would be announced soon. Airport staff must also increase hand baggage checks, while "easy boarding services" that provide quicker boarding procedures for a fee have been banned under the new regulations, posted Thursday.

Lessons in Jihad as secret terror manual translated by MI5 is made public by America
15th March 2008
The amazing series of events that led to an Al Qaeda terrorist manual becoming freely available on the internet can be revealed today. Only last week a terror suspect was jailed in Britain for having a copy of it and told that its possession was a serious criminal offence.
But the deadly document, described as a Declaration of Jihad, is a public record in the US after being translated from Arabic and typed up for MI5, passed to the American authorities and then declassified by the Department of Justice.
The manual includes advice on planning kidnappings, bombings, assassinations and torture. It was originally handwritten in Arabic and available only to a very few Al Qaeda operatives and commanders directly linked to Osama Bin Laden.

Lessons in jihad - secret terror manual translated
But the deadly document, described as a Declaration of Jihad, is a public record in the US after being translated from Arabic and typed up for MI5, passed to the American authorities and then declassified by the Department of Justice.
The manual includes advice on planning kidnappings, bombings, assassinations and torture.
The book's handwritten introduction spells out Al Qaeda's mission. It says its aim is the overthrow of the godless regimes and their replacement with an Islamic regime.
To do this they must gather information about the enemy . . . kidnap enemy personnel, documents, secrets and arms . . . assassinate enemy personnel as well as foreign tourists.
It also recommends blasting and destroying the embassies and attacking vital economic centres, blasting and destroying bridges leading into and out of the cities.
It spells out the necessary qualifications of membership including a willingness to undergo martyrdom.
Chapters are split into lessons and include headings such as Counterfeit Currency and Forged Documents, Weapons, Espionage, Secret Writing and Cipher and Codes.
The Sixteenth Lesson is Assassinations Using Poisons and Cold Steel and the Seventeenth is Torture Methods.
Ooops Oorang, sorry, had the same post - YOU are always on top of things - thankfully!
