Petraeus: Al Qaida Trying to 'Come Back In'

U.S. military officials said there will be no significant reduction in coalition troops in the Baghdad area as part of an effort to stop the Al Qaida offensive in northern Iraq.

They said Al Qaida was trying to reenter Baghdad and reverse its losses in 2007.

"Al Qaida is trying to come back in," U.S. military commander Gen. David Petraeus said. "We can feel it and see it, and what we're trying to do is rip out any roots before they can get deeply into the ground." Read More

How to terrorism tape allegedly posted on web

Snippets: Federal prosecutors say a University of South Florida student charged with aiding terrorism posted a how-to video about remote controlled bombing on YouTube.

Ahmed Mohamed's lawyers argue that the video is protected by the First Amendment and have asked a judge to dismiss any charges related to it, The Tampa Tribune reported.

Prosecutors said Mohamed demonstrated converting the remote control for a toy car into a device to set off a detonator. He allegedly said that remote control would "increase Muslim lives one more life" by avoiding suicide bombing.

Mohamed and another student, Youssef Megahed, were arrested in South Carolina in August. The two young men, both Egyptian nationals, are accused of transporting explosives.

“Defense Intel Director Tells Senate of Military Threats”

By Jim Garamone
American Forces Press Service

WASHINGTON, Feb. 6, 2008 –
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Iran remains a problem, as it’s acquiring advanced weapons systems and is supporting terrorists in other parts of the world, Maples said. New military capabilities include missile patrol boats, anti-ship cruise missiles, surface-to-air missile systems and an extended-range ballistic missile, he said. Iran also is close to acquiring long-range surface-to-air missiles and a new medium-range ballistic missile, he told the committee. Iran continues to play a very disruptive role in Lebanon by training, arming and funding Hezbollah terrorists, he said.”

“More Proof Iran Is Arming Terrorists”

Video - Description - Quote:

About This Video
These weapons were captured by the IDF, and taken from Hezbollah during the 2006 Lebanon War.
The weapons were manufactured in Iran, and supplied to a designated terrorist organization, in violation of United Nations sanctions and international law.

While Iran arms and trains their proxy armies, Hezbollah and Hamas, the world sits and looks on, or devotes their energies to attacking Israel for defending herself from those who openly advocate and work toward her destruction.

Iran cannot be allowed to attain nuclear weapons.
Whatever the cost.

After A Nuclear 9/11
By Jay Davis

Tuesday, March 25, 2008; Page A15

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The appearance of nuclear weapons materials on the black market is a growing global concern, and it is crucial that the United States reinforce its team of nuclear forensics experts and modernize its forensics tools to prepare for or respond to a possible nuclear terrorist attack.

Large quantities of nuclear materials are inadequately secured in several countries, including Russia and Pakistan. Since 1993, there have been more than 1,300 incidents of illicit trafficking of nuclear materials, including plutonium and highly enriched uranium, both of which can be used to develop an atomic bomb. And these are only the incidents we know about.

It is quite possible that a terrorist group could acquire enough nuclear material to build a bomb.”
