The Widespread Demise of the Democrats Continues As the Party Is Rocked by Bill Gates Pulling His Funding
Red State ^ | 08/29/2025 | Brad Slager

It has been fully recognized since the November election that the Democratic Party has been hobbled more than a three-legged gelding, but things refuse to improve for that lot. Throughout this year, the party has seen its prospects withering across the board, whether it is in internal operations, public approval, voting efforts, fundraising, or media outreach.

And much like the condition of the national media industry, there is no desire exhibited by them to change what is not working. And this week it became even worse.

It was announced that the Bill Gates Foundation was suspending its monetary involvement with one of the primary non-profits affiliated with the Democratic Party. The New York Times reported that without much fanfare, Gates was turning away from his longtime connection to the party.

The Gates Foundation decided in late June to halt making grants to nonprofit funds administered by the consulting firm Arabella Advisors. In addition to its consulting work on behalf of nonprofits and philanthropists, Arabella also manages several “dark money” funds that support Democrats and the progressive movement.

Arabella is a hybrid entity that not only advises non-profit organizations but also operates a dark money network on behalf of the Democratic Party interests. It manages to get away with this crooked dealing by funneling money through layers of groups. It set up what is labeled the New Venture Fund, an allegedly non-partisan outfit, which donates to the Sixteen-Thirty Fund. That outfit spread nearly $100 million to various PACS, which either backed Democrats or ran ads against Republicans. This pipeline manages to see that Arabella’s hands are clean, and the donors behind this sham remain anonymous.

Making this all the more impactful is that this is not only the Gates money that is being cut off, but several other nonprofits are easing back their involvement with Arabella, to maintain thriving relations with the Gates Foundation. This only extends the already crippling problems experienced in 2025, especially those concerning the party's finances.

The fundraising for the Dems this year has evaporated, and it is becoming a compounding problem. The party has taken in a paltry sum so far, as it sits on a war chest totaling less than $15 million. The primary issue is that the party has a larger bill to pay off on expenses from the Kamala Harris campaign. So, while already struggling to appeal to donors with diminishing political prospects, this becomes more of a challenge as donors wanting to back a candidate, for instance, are instead giving money towards paying off a debt.

Back in February, it was revealed that the Democrats’ primary fundraising and outreach platform, Act Blue, was in severe discord. Several top executives suddenly quit in a matter of weeks, with no explanation. Amazingly (but not surprisingly), the fundraiser’s workers have not one but two different unions, and they are concerned about the prospects.

Last week, two unions representing the group’s workers sent a blistering letter to ActBlue’s board of directors that listed the seven officials who had left. The letter described an “alarming pattern” of departures that was “eroding our confidence in the stability of the organization.”

Meanwhile, the cash-strapped party was perfectly fine with dropping a small fortune on another project – winning back young male voters. So to find a way to appeal to the younger working-class males, these political wizards spent $20 million on workshops, code-named SAM, “Speaking with American Men: A Strategic Plan.” There is no better way to curry favor with the young studs (to “study the syntax, language, and content that gains attention and virality in these spaces.”) than having your aged party elites staged at posh five-star resorts to kick around ideas.

This is the very same party that managed to elect just such a male to its party leadership – and then unceremoniously tossed him over the transom. It was in February when David Hogg was selected as the party’s vice chairman, and the Dems resisted his ideas to such a degree that he did not last more than four months in that role.

All told, this is becoming a comedy of errors for this once powerful political force. The Democrats also launched a new YouTube venture, called The Daily Blueprint, hoping to tap into the Joe Rogan crowd with short-form videos meant to go viral and control the messaging. This has been a woeful enterprise, with the best response seeing them barely netting a couple of thousand views.

Meanwhile, another media effort long in place is apparently dying on the vine. The Courier Newsroom is something I have covered here, the artificial “news” network of local sites established to deliver — literally — fake news. This is a collection of 11 websites in states meant to replicate local news, but delivering Democrat Party agitprop. Established years ago and expanded in 2024 for the election, it is now begging for donations from the usual sources

All of this has brought the Democrats to a state of dysphoria. This is a party in search of any traction, all while incapable of accomplishing anything but opposing President Trump at every turn by rote. This means they have boldly come out against things like tax cuts, cutting government waste, removing dangerous illegal aliens, lowering inflation, working on a peace deal with Ukraine and Russia, and even opposing fighting crime.

This is a political party with a sub-freezing approval rating, as well as losing out on the voter registration wave taking place with the GOP. And now they are going broke while spending copious amounts trying to figure out how, after years of demonizing men, they have lost their way with male voters. This is like watching someone install a $5,000 catalytic converter in a $500 20-year-old Yugo. They claim they are doing noble work, but no one wants to hop inside, knowing they are not going to go very far.

Editor’s Note: The Democrat Party has never been less popular as voters reject its globalist agenda.

Your ideas are bad. Hard as it will be, dump your positions on trans,
Illegal, and DEI. Sincerely embrace law and order. Stop acting like maniacs.

That will be $20 million, please

Or a sign that he has reached a point in his plan where he doesn’t need the DNC anymore.

Democrats are hopeless.
18% approval rating.

The problem is that Democrats always fail upward.

And Republicans spike the ball at the 50 yard line.

I’d like to see what the DNC is going to do with $14 million cash on hand for the Mid-Terms.

Not much. And they know it.

AI advised Gates he would find more value in converting millions to cash and tossing the money down at open sewer.

Supporting the Dems’ campaigns came in a distant 10th place.

if true, it’s good news. arabella is the dem’s mother’s milk of political action. it stands outside the party proper so it can move independently of it.

in a way, maga (and before that the tea party) has unwittingly copied it in the sense of going outside the moribund national GOP in the Trump election cycles. Trump really running as an independent/moderate outside the GOPe.

which is why people like me give nothing to party organs. we simply give to individual candidates.

I think during the last election a certain segment of the democratic party looted all their old guard donors to the tune of 1.5 billion and transferred it to various far left organizations under the guise of doing election stuff.

I happened to know something of how The Gates foundation operates.

They are merciless and they are precise. If a pitch for money does not generate results after the money is sent, then that money shuts off instantly. There are no conversations about what caused the problem. There is no dinner conversation with the principal investigator. There is a check and then an audited array of results and then more money or zero money. There’s nothing in between.

It’s his money. He gets to do what he wants.

Gates is very likely concerned about getting caught up in a RICO investigation, considering all of the rioting and destruction that can be attributed to and funded by the dark money given to the Democrat party.

I read a lot of democrat message boards and there is definitely a notable trend emerging.

They’re withholding donations to the DNC and only giving directly to candidates they like.

Also, they’re sick of their emails filling up with constant fundraising by PACs.
