Could the 2028 presidential campaign line up with Marco Rubio taking on Rahm Emanuel?
That may or may not be what happens, but it’s what I am guessing will be what unfolds.
The Democrat party is in dire need for a level-headed politician to emerge above the fray, and I suspect that will be Rahm.
The problem that may pose for Republicans is that he was an important part of the Obama administration, and much of America probably still thinks of Barack as one of the good guys.
Most voters failed to recognize that the “fundamental transformation of America” we have witnessed between 2009 and 2024 was a campaign promise by Barack Obama during his 2008 run.
Rather than listening to his words, American voters were focused upon reversing their racial guilt instead of what would become ideologically detrimental to the country.
In 2026, we will celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States. I wrote a book a few years ago titled, “The Quarternmillennial of the United States of America.”
Rahm Emanuel will not be a Barack Obama, and certainly not a Joe Biden, but I hope America does not forget where he came from. He is a Democrat; he was in the House of Representatives for Illinois for six years; he was Obama’s chief of staff; he was Chicago’s mayor; and most recently U.S. ambassador to Japan.

What about JD Vance?
Could be that democrats have a sense of humor after all!
The Obnoxious Little Troll
No. Rahm Emanuel - D astardly
What Rahm did as Mayor of Chicago, he will do for the whole country ( if God forbid, Americans are foolish enough to elect him).
JD for sure, and DeSantis is still in the mix. Same with Cruz. Marco is at best 4th choice, but he has been better than ever working with Trump.
Never let a crisis go to waste. Create one if needed..
Americans aren’t stupid enough to vote for him, but democrats, dead people, and illegal aliens are.
Yeah, because Rahm Emanuel did such a great job as mayor of Chicago, right?
Makes about as much sense as choosing Gavin Newsom for the POTUS candidate in 2028, b/c he’s done so much for California, right - as he drives the state straight into the ground and will do same nation-wide.
It will be JD Vance for POTUS in 2028, b/c he supports Trump’s popular policies.
Now, the Trump admin needs to work on shoring up vote security.
They’ve still got the RATS on Saturday Night Live. They don’t have to settle for Rahm. Then there is “My Little Pony” Crockette, the head Squaw, AOC, and Da View’s head piggy, Sonny Hostin.
Every possibility for the democrat party that has been bounced out like tennis balls for 2028 has caused nothing but a lot of “oh I hope so!”s and a LOT of laughter around these parts!
The only thing I am hoping for is that the democrats keep exposing themselves like they have been for the past 16 years. Don’t change a thing ‘RATs!
Mr fast and furious? The dude who “investigated himself” znd of course “found that he did absolutely nothing wrong”? He’s their best hope?
Let’s hope and pray he doesn’t get elected or even win the nomination.
It’s a grand idea. Bring the loony antisemetic far left of the party to hell by nominating a Jew. Pffff
My early marker is down on Andy Beshear
Too short
Because this is the alternate timeline where Rahm has a snowball's chance in hell of being president and in this timeline JD doesn't exist.
DeSantis has been doing great in Florida. But his appeal does not translate to the campaign trail nationally.
Rubio would be a good VP for JD.
Chicago Obama proxy.
Any genius can see through that.
It would be the leftist Emanuel versus a field of nothing but extreme leftist lunatics. Probably a shoo-in for the candidacy and, hopefully a repudiation by Democrats of the extremists within their party.
Essentially he would the lesser of multiple evils . . .
RE: Too short
Not a factor. At 5’7 1/2” he’s taller than most women and is taller or the same height as many previous Presidents ( see James Madison, John Adams and son, Quincy, Ulysses Grant, William McKinley, etc. ).
