Putin vows ‘mirror measures’ if US puts missiles in Germany in 2026, as planned

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin promised to “mirror measures” if the United States follows through on plans to station longer-range and hypersonic missiles in Germany — claiming the move would free Russia from a moratorium on deploying its own long-range, lethal weapons.

Speaking Sunday at a naval parade in St. Petersburg, Putin said Russia may deploy the missiles in response to a US announcement earlier this month that it would affirm its commitment to NATO — and the defense of Europe — by installing its weapons in Germany, starting in 2026.

No worries, I’m sure President Kamala will strike fear into Putin and force him to back down... /sarcasm off.

And Russia will put missiles in Cuba again.

I do not want to see Joe or Kamallah deal with that.
Disaster on a planetary scale.

When if ever will the US accept that the American “ Empire “ is firmly in decline and headed for extinction just like the prior British Empire ? Attacking/ blaming Russia and China not smart moves . Can’t we all get along ? ; )

And Russia will put missiles in Cuba again.

If the Democrats steal the election in November, this time we won't have JFK to stop the Russians.

Seams reasonable...
Certainly Mexico, Venezuela, Cuba, etc. would make good missle locations...

More importantly, why would the U.S. add any more missles, etc. to rabid Islamic nations like those of the EU?
Maybe so our ruling communists could end up doing what they did in Afghanistan...
Gifts for everybody...

Put some cheap fakes in Germany and dare Putin to take them out. Put some in France too.

Cuba? We should immediately mine the waters around Cuba and seize all the land around Guantanamo. Lets ramp this up and get this war going!

Why should they stop them? If the missiles can be in Germany, why not on Cuba?

Germany will probably acquire nuclear weapons on their own if we don’t have them in their country.

The last time the Russians put missiles in Cuba it was in response to the U.S. putting missiles in Turkey.

Let’s just keep repeating history’s failures ad nauseum.

Fine with me. More mutually assured destruction to prevent hasty actions.
Cuba again? Or Central America? Maybe in Mexico at the invitation of and partnership with one or more drug cartels, with the “official” Mexican unable or unwilling to stop it?

That's exactly what Kruschev said some 60 years ago, after the US put missiles in Turkey.

And JFK knew exactly how to de-escalate the matter. (In exchange for Kruschev removing the missiles from Cuba, Kennedy would remove the US missiles from Turkey. And he did.)

I looked at the map of where we've stationed our nuclear missiles. We still have them in Turkey

We don’t have nuclear missiles in Turkey, we have some gravity bombs we base there under the NATO “sharing” program. Turks can use them IF we allow them.
Back in the Missile Crisis, we had Jupiter missiles there because we had to be close to hit Russia back then.
Today we have SSBNs and ICBMs.

Kennedy did remove the Jupiter missiles back then.

“Germany will probably acquire nuclear weapons on their own if we don’t have them in their country.”

Never happen. Guaranteed. They have nowhere to test them, and if they did, Russia would nuke them. After what they did they will never allow them to have a nuke.

I have no idea if this is true; I'll take your word that it is. In any event, I am not speaking of whatever may have taken place in the 61 years since the US removed its Jupiter missiles from Turkey.
