A mysterous Muslim group with unknown sponsors has purchased a building steps away from Ground Zero. Hudson New York reported:
An identified group with unknown sponsors has purchased building steps away from where the WorldTrade Center once stood — to turn it into potentially one of the largest New York City mosques.
At the moment the building, the old Burlington Coat Factory, already serves as a mini-mosque: an iron grill lifts every Friday afternoon for a little known Imam leading prayers a few yards away from where Osama Bin Laden’s airborne Islamist bombers killed nearly 3000 people back in 2001.
The Imam, Feisal Abdul Rauf, told the New York Times — which put the story on its front page Wednesday — that he has assembled several million dollars to turn it into ‘’an Islamic center near the city’s most hallowed piece of land that would stand as one of ground zero’s more unexpected and striking neighbors.’’
The 61-year-old Imam said he paid $4.85 million for it — in cash, records show. With 50,000 square feet of air rights and enough financing, he plans an ambitious project of $150 million, he said, akin to the Chautauqua Institution, the 92 Street Y or the Jewish Community Center.

You could if you paid off the right people. As for property rights, that refers to the politicians owned by the Imam (or his hidden backers).
It is an obvious, deliberate provocation to weaken the resolve of the people. Cultural marxists do this all the time.
I go past this place into the bar next store which is frequented by all the Construction workers from the WTC site. Knowing most of them I am sure they would not want to have a Mosque so close. I am sure the NYPD 1st precint and NYU Hospital downtown would have many frequent visitors.
Doesn’t mater - he actually ascended into “Paradise”. If it was Heaven, its description is greatly diffferent from the Biblical idea of Heaven.
‘Good muslims’ go to a lower level in Paradise from murderous jhadis plus the jihadis get the perk of white rasins. Everything backward sounds hellish to me.

That’s the first thing that I thought... That would likely send up a million red flags. It may be a “mysterious” group to the press, but no doubt the FBI and the IRS is probably very familiar with all concerned at this point. Now, if only we could know where the trail has led. I’d bet we’ll never find out...

If you wish to do something else with the property in question, you can purchase it from the current owner.
Any act or violence or vandalism against private property in this country will lead to the offenders being prosecuted and tossed in prison.

That's duly understood sir Truamdogz and I'd never consider it sve the thought however there are a LOT of very irrational folks and many many hurting folks killed innocently by a few crackpots. I've a feeling a lot of folks feel what I wrote. Highly doubtful any would pull the vigilante stuff but somehoe , some way there will have to be a legal way to usurp such a preposterous slap in America's face.

BUT
1) I could ill afford the lil abode in which I live at the moment
2) Could never mount a vigilante militia to blow up some stupid mosque by a person that had the "Audacity of being a Dope" yet he certainly is making waves.
3) Sadly I feel if this mosque acually gets to the point of breaking ground it would in my mind be a travesty for all Americans
BTW, havn't read ALL the posts but how would you feel should a mosque be built on such ground?
If they own the land they can build whatever they wish.
The Islamics are tempting us to amend the Constitution, and such an amendment would not go well for them.
Gotta admit, this Imam has some big, clanging, brass ones. Now can we deport him and his flock, burn the building down, and salt the earth on which it stood?

For a second I thought you were quoting Obama, rather than the Imam. The quotes, if not the sentiments, are absolutely interchangeable. Reminds me of that quiz years ago, where someone took selected excerpts from the Unabomber Manifesto, put them side by side with pronouncements from Al Gore and his first book, and NO ONE COULD TELL THEM APART. It was pure hit or miss to identify Gore over against the Unabomber.
That’s just sick.
