Muslim converted by pope says life in more danger
Published: 03.23.08, 22:03 / Israel News
An outspoken Muslim author and critic of Islamic fundamentalism who converted to Christianity at the hands of Pope Benedict said on Sunday he realized he was in greater danger but he has no regrets.
“I realize what I am going up against but I will confront my fate with my head high, with my back straight and the interior strength of one who is certain about his faith,” said Magdi Allam. (Reuters)
Thank you, Cindy.
He is risen.
A most blessed Easter to all.
Amen!
9 cases reported in horse disease spate
State agriculture officials say they're seeing an outbreak of a mosquito-borne disease that can kill horses.
Last year, the state saw 18 cases of Eastern equine encephalitis. There have been nine cases already this year. The season typically starts in May.
Florida Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson said horses should be vaccinated to protect them against the disease and the West Nile virus.
Eastern equine encephalitis is a viral disease transmitted to horses by mosquitoes. Signs of the virus include fever, listlessness, stumbling, circling, coma and, in 90 percent of cases, death.

The Illinois Department of Natural Resources has received results on tests of more than 4,100 deer which were harvested by hunters or taken by IDNR personnel as part of the 2007-08 deer season sampling program.
Happy Easter
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has confirmed Honduran grown cantaloupes are being voluntarily recalled after a continent-wide salmonella outbreak.
The recall followed a warning earlier Saturday from the U.S Food and Drug Administration about the outbreak, which CFIA said has sickened nine people in five provinces and 50 people in 16 U.S. states.
Yes, He has risen, indeed.
A blessed Easter to you and your family RR.
I hope all is well with you.
Thank you for these updates, MamaDearest.
A blessed Easter to you DC.
I wish you all a Happy and Blessed Easter.

NEW DELHI (AP) India successfully tested a short-range version of its most powerful nuclear-capable missile Sunday, the defense ministry said.
The Agni-I missile, which can travel up to 435 miles, was test-fired over the Bay of Bengal from Wheeler’s Island off India’s east coast in the morning, a ministry statement said. The Agni-1 can carry both conventional and nuclear warheads.
“The missile had a textbook performance in terms of range, accuracy and lethality,” it said.

BIN LADEN WANTS MY BLOOD
March 21, 2008 1:00 AM
By Flemming Rose
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Osama bin Laden has been celebrating the birthday of the prophet Mohammed by calling on Muslims to kill people like me, cartoonists and other blasphemers who have dared to publish and republish cartoons of a man who lived 1,400 years ago.
Actually, this is nothing new. Bin Laden addressed the cartoon issue two years ago, in a little-noticed speech, when he called the cartoons of Mohammed the worst possible attack on Islam.”

Al Qaeda leader in Kirkuk, 3 suspects detained
Multi-National Division North PAO
KIRKUK, Iraq A suspected al Qaeda in Iraq leader in Kirkuk and three other suspects were detained March 20 during a raid conducted by Coalition forces near the village of Rashaad in the Kirkuk Province.
Iraqi citizens provided the information leading to the capture of the suspected al Qaeda in Iraq leader and other suspects.
The tips allowed Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division to conduct a precision raid to detain the suspects with minimal impact to Iraqi citizens.
The detained suspect and his followers have conducted numerous acts of intimidation on innocent civilians since 2003. The suspect is believed to be the leader for major IED and insurgent operations in the Kirkuk Province and was believed to be responsible for the deaths of many Iraqis.
The suspect has brought much fear and death to the People of Kirkuk and to his own people in Hawijah. No longer will it be possible for him to harm innocent civilians, said Col. David Paschal, commander of the 1st Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division. We will continue to hunt down the remainder of the terrorists and bring them to justice.

“Would-be Azrieli bomber gets 9 years”
By JPOST.COM STAFF
ARTICLE SNIPPET: “The Tel Aviv District Court has sentenced Taibe resident Dubian Nazirat, 30, to nine years in jail after he was charged with conspiring to assist the enemy during wartime.
Nazirat was a member of an Al-Aksa Martyrs Brigade cell that planned to carry out a terror attack on a train as well as at the Azrieli towers in Tel Aviv in 2004. The men intended to plant an explosive device on the railroad tracks near Netanya before detonating it with a cellular phone. The attack was thwarted a day before its planned execution.
Two more Taibe residents, Mujhad Dukan, 22, and Amin Ziwati, 23, had been charged earlier with conspiring to assist the enemy during wartime. Dukan is also charged with contacting a foreign agent.
One of the cell’s members received 15 years in jail while another was sentenced to seven years. The group’s leader, Ahmed Kaisy, was sentenced to four and a half years by a military court.”
Mr. RR loves cantaloupe. It’s not my favorite thing. But I buy them for him year round. For the past few years, I put them in the sink and scrub them with anti-bacterial soap before I cut them. Ages ago, I never worried about it, but in the past few years I’ve been concerned about contamination.
This news just confirms my precautions.
