At the culmination of a gathering of global 'antiwar' groups in Istanbul to hold court on the liberation of Iraq led by the United States and the United Kingdom, the jurors who heard testimony against the liberators issued their findings which included a declaration of support for the terrorists in Iraq who are killing American, British and coalition soldiers and Iraqis.
The World Tribunal on Iraq is endorsed by leading leftwing organizations from around the world including American-based groups like Not in Our Name Project, United for Peace and Justice, Code Pink and International ANSWER.
The war on terror has reached a critical juncture. The left has publicly chosen sides with this announcement. There can be no more talk of 'we support the soldiers but not the war.' As Aloha Ronnie says, THE ENEMY IS WITHIN.
Here are two statements from the trbunal's announcement on Iraq:
10. There is widespread opposition to the occupation. Political, social, and civil resistance through peaceful means is subjected to repression by the occupying forces. It is the brutality of the occupation that has provoked a strong armed resistance and certain acts of desperation. By the principles embodied in the UN Charter and in international law, the popular national resistance to the occupation is legitimate and justified. It deserves the support of people everywhere who care for justice and freedom.
AND
III. Recommendations
Recognising the right of the Iraqi people to resist the illegal occupation of their country and to develop independent institutions, and affirming that the right to resist the occupation is the right to wage a struggle for self-determination, freedom, and independence as derived from the Charter of the United Nations, we the Jury of Conscience declare our solidarity with the people of Iraq.
The Tribunal also calls for the world community to support the terrorists by denying aid to those fighting them in Iraq:
10. That people around the world resist and reject any effort by any of their governments to provide material, logistical, or moral support to the occupation of Iraq.
The tribunal betrays the bravery of the 8 million Iraqis who their cast their votes in January by declaring the elected government of Iraq illegitimate. The terrorists couldn't have said it better:
9. Any law or institution created under the aegis of occupation is devoid of both legal and moral authority. The recently concluded election, the Constituent Assembly, the current government, and the drafting committee for the Constitution are therefore all illegitimate.

Some of you may read this and say this is not news. As with last night's posting about Code Pink, the left has been trying keep under wraps their support for the terrorists. Now, they have boldy declared themselves to be on the side of the terrorists.
We knew this day would come after September 11. We just didn't know the day.
Antiwar groups declare WAR ON AMERICA!! Offer aid and comfort to enemy!! This is TREASON!!
Oh no .. not he PA .. they're a victim of Israel's cruel oppression - so they have the right to fight back.

These Kool Aid drinkers need to detox. They have a genuine death wish. They hate Bush because he represents the Christian Right that supports a culture which opposes the lifestyle of the left. They believe that giving support to the islamo-fascists will cause a political defeat of the Right. Little do they realize that with the islamo-fascists, this is no game. The islamo-fascists have little use for the culture of the left and will want them eliminated once the Right is out of the picture.
It serves us right if we don't arrest the signatories. We have the evidence. This is worse cowardice on the part of the administration than when Nixon was too afraid to arrest the Pentagon Papers guy...so he pathetically allowed the "plumbers" to go after the guy's medical records. Why not be direct this time? Arrest any American signatories. Put others on an international watch list.
During my last meeting with Andropov, he said, wisely, "now all we have to do is to keep the Vietnam-era anti-Americanism alive." Andropov was a shrewd judge of human nature. He understood that in the end our original involvement would be forgotten, and our insinuations would take on a life of their own. He knew well that it was just the way human nature worked.
First saw this during the recent unpleasantness of the '04 elections -- it looks like it will never go out of style. I think these people have it tattooed on their butts, or something....
[They hate Bush because he represents the Christian Right that supports a culture which opposes the lifestyle of the left.]
Bush doesn't represent the Christian Right anymore than he represents New York City Democrats like myself who saw the towers fall and decided that the Sunni Muslim Empire needed to have it sails trimmed for good. The Democratic Party needs to clean house. One reason why these ANSWER people might not get arrested is because Rove thinks incorrectly that American Independents will somehow even know about this treason and vote against it. You'd think he would know that the MSM will bury this unless people get arrested for it. What also Rove doesn't understand is that my own mother and sister feel so "safe" now because of what our troops are doing that they "don't care about politics anymore" and "don't want to hear this right-wing, left-wing nonsense". The American swing voter is someone who doesn't like "tension" and "disunity" and so voted for Kerry or almost voted for Kerry because they thought his election would "end the bickering" and "get the country back on course again." Freepers need to understand that the real enemy in this battle could end up being our own mothers and sisters who, after Bush liberates a few more countries, palpably feels that the world is safer and subconsciously feels, as a result, that she no longer needs to back the Republicans because they will be "strong against terrorists" who have mostly already been beaten. Don't believe me? Look at what happened to Churchill before the Nazis were even defeated! We have less to worry about from the predictable leftist moonbats...and a whole lot to worry about from our own families. My mother and sister in Florida probably ended up voting for Bush but only because we worked on them with the terror issue. If terror were only a little less of a problem, they would have been lost to all reason. There is no gratitude in politics. If Bush liberates Iran this summer, there will be no gratitude shown to Republicans in November 2006. In fact, I worry that Rove has actually put the brakes on the liberation of Iran for this reason. That would make me very angry to learn he did that.
They'd be supporting Hitler if this was WWII.
Should all Members of these groups be added to the No Fly List? It might make them think long and hard before signing on the dotted line joining with the terrorists.
They have stated now that they are on the terrorists' side.
My lord won't they howl! They might even call us NAZI's.
You've got it. That is what we need to do.
Sorry, it's late and I didn't read all the posts.
There is a law against what the US citizens did at the conference. If the individuals signed that resolution, they should be held legally accountable.
Treason and/or sedition, giving aid to the enemy, whatever.
I think they may have gone a little too far this time.
"...we the Jury of Conscience declare our solidarity with the people of Iraq."
%%%%%%
Which people of Iraq? Baathists, deadenders, Zarqari's followers, terrorists from Saudi Arabia?
These are not the people who will form a democratic form of government.
Thanks for posting this revealing (and disgusting) info, kristinn.

Got any proof that these groups endorsed this "tribunal"? I don't doubt it but any solid, undeniable link would be helpful.

Nevermind, did my own homework and you are 100% right, in fact you can add Green Peace to the list of endorsing groups.
I guess this settles the, "You are with us, or you are against us!" thing.
In the words of the Clintonistas - "Prove it, prove it, prove it."
"the popular national resistance to the occupation is legitimate and justified."
So, car bombs used to kill non-combatants are sanctioned by the U.N.? C'mon treasonists, speak up. I can't HEAR you!
"That people around the world resist and reject any effort by any of their governments to provide material, logistical, or moral support to the occupation of Iraq."
This is publicly advocated treason, and should be treated a such.
"Any law or institution created under the aegis of occupation is devoid of both legal and moral authority.
So laws enacted against murder, rape, kidnap, and theft are "devoid or both legal and moral authority?" C'mon treasonists, speak up. I can't HEAR you! God, what a bunch of idiots.
"We knew this day would come after September 11. We just didn't know the day."
We did know. And it has been said numerous times in these threads. And Karl Rove talked about the liberal response to terrorism and the liberals are going berserk and demanding he apologize and resign. Rove is right, and we are right.
These groups need to publicly respond and affirm or deny their support to this declaration. And if Homeland Security, the CIA, the DOJ, and the FBI want to know who supports terror, I suggest they read this declaration and see who supports it, and act accordingly.
"Its just because you haven't been to college yet little dude" ..........southpark
Support by any of these groups for any political candidate should be loudly and repeatedly publicized along with their statements. Then the (Democratic) candidate will be forced to either renounce them or be associated with their statements.
