Good evening, ma'am.

I just spoke with GrammaBear. The whole day has been a burden for her, but she is winding down the day and will be going to bed soon. I pray she gets some good sleep.

Before she died, my gramma told my mom she wanted me to play (on my saxophone) the song "Memories" from the musical "Cats". The last time I played that song was 10 years ago at my fraternal grandfather's funeral, and during that performance, it felt like Someone's arms were physically wrapped around me.

At my paternal grandfather's funeral in 1999, I played several of his favorite hymns. He was the spiritual head of the family, just a regular man who worked in factories and loved his family. Almost one year to the day after my grandpa died, my son was born (11:46pm-he missed by 14 minutes. I almost asked my lovely wife to hold him in until midnight, but I don't think she would have liked that). That was a bright spot in my gramma's life because she lost her husband one year before, and she teared up when I told her I named the little guy after her brother and her husband.

I pray He gives me the composure to finish the song at the funeral, because without His help, I'd be a mess.
