The hole is only temporary. The gum will fill in the space eventually. Just rinse your mouth out with warm salt water or hydrogen peroxide after every time you eat something until the hole heals. In about a week, it will still be a little tender with things like steak, but you'll be OK before you know it!

It's OK...there's a First Time for everything. My dad was 71 before he ever lost a permanent tooth, so I wouldn't worry too much about being a "newbie". I hope it feels better in a few days. It's going to hurt like a bestid when the novocaine wears off, so have lots of medicinal whiskey (or the like) on hand.

Well, I don't like dentistry either, but we have to make preparations. Y'all pack all your favorite toothpastes and toothbrushes, (a good supply!)

Anything we don't take with us, we'll have to make out of the things we do take. And that would include dental equipment. It really pays to prepare!

Even if we are planning to return, this voyage is going to be like one from Old Europe, conveying passengers bound for the New World, and carrying all their wordly possessions. -- Anyone who needed a haircut en route, got one from a fellow passenger. I don't think you'd want your roommate drilling your teeth.

With my luck, my roommate would be James.

The Kerry campaign for President, began in ‘68,
When he debarked for Viet Nam, and prayed not to be late.
He had to kill the enemy, and film it for his fans,

The VC were a tricky lot, adept at hiding well,
Pretending to be innocents, but Kerry, he could tell.
He smoked ‘em out of villages, and jungles oh, so wild,
And no use in pretending that you were a harmless child.

Kerry got his man, you know, before the lad matured,
And thus his reputation as a Hero was secured.
But just in case you missed it, he went back and took the pix,
And added lots of danger when reporting in the mix.

Yes, he was thinking of the day, even way back then,
And he wouldn’t join the losers like the ancient Viet Minh.
The future held defeat for us, but not for Effin’ John,
For he switched sides when he returned, and started on his con.

And now his history shows he was on both sides of the war,
In answer to the question of “what are we fighting for?”
John Effin had his goal, you see, to stepping-stone his spouse,
Infiltrating upward til he got to the White House!!

Right now, he’s only months away from winning his campaign,
And whoever is beside him will be swimming in champagne.
He will have finally won the war that started long ago,
Just think how proud he’ll be to show his Uncle Ho.

John Kerry, Lost?

John Kerry, lost? His noble brow,
Perchance revert to wrinkles now?
The valiant warrior strode the world,
Retreating now, his banner furled.

To face the wrath, withheld til now,
Of bitter phrase from stifled frau.
To pace the hall with echo dread,
While might-have-beens sift through his head.

To see his minions, tears bedecked,
And watch his ship of state be wrecked.
To tally promises he has made,
And worry how they might be paid.

To look into the mirrored eye,
And sadly to inquire why?
What was the key that slipped away,
Or what the coin of devil pay?
