Today was "quiet" as I packed again (still) but I have now only three major things to pack and a few oddball "misc" items.

I am ready to go. I am looking forward to the drive. And my son is happy that I will be somewhere with a REAL airport! He wants to bring my grandson to visit, which I think will be a good thing for both of them. :o)

Actually, I have considered cockatiels and/or canaries to give me "sound" but I also want a nice aquarium. I have to "settle down" first, and I think my kids are disparing of that!

I will not, however, leave Tucson, unless it is for another place in southern AZ...I need the dry heat too much...make me feel GOOD!

We had a cockatiel for a few weeks this summer (kids found her in the yard). She was nice. We found her a good home elsewhere in the state, because the 5-and-under crowd wouldn't leave her alone! If we're ever settled somewhere with no little kids, maybe we'll get one to keep!

I'm thinking I might use leftover Christmas money to get an aquarium...maybe...I'm still looking into it. (Plus I have to buy my books first.)

I had a pair of cockatiels, once, but I had to move unexpectedly, and they were left behind. If I had it to do over again, I would have kept them.

I love their chatter and their interaction. I would never have just one. My sister has an African Gray parrot, who will outlive her by many years. I think he is 11 or 12, now. According to the will, he is going to her daughter as his life-span is about 70 years.
